Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

Holy fuck, these gifs, I can't wait to be done work to indulge in some gameplay.

Sorry if this has been answered already, any insight into dynamic weather and times of day?

I can't believe this shit 60 FPS and 24 cars, Dan's a god.

No dynamic weather or time of day.

Also rain is only available on some tracks.

Same thing with night time, only available on some tracks.

There is NO wet racing at night.

So pretty much exactly the same as PGR 2/4, some of the best games ever despite those.

Yup I was actually telling my friend earlier how the puddles on the stream were reminding me of PGR4. Crazy how that game was ahead of its time.

Too bad some games didn't actually evolved since tho.

Won't happen forza load times have always been slow.

Ugh, basic stuff like that should be their #1 priority in my opinion. I hope at minimum the menu loading times are significantly improved. At one point in Forza 5 I actually gave up on even bothering to buy my "free" cars in-game because of how long it was taking to buy multiple vehicles.

Still, PGR 4 formula at 1080p60 would still be great despite "no evolution".

VIP is 20$ normally right?

The deluxe edition is 20$ more than the standard... What's the point?

I hope we'll get a rebate on it if we have vip on FM5 and/or FH2 like we got with FH2.
Yeah, I hope so too. Getting VIP for $10, and then Storm Island for $10 as well, was nice considering the standard version was ~$40 less than the deluxe/limited edition with E3 sales.

Biggest worry about the night driving would they'd bollocks it up with a bright moon or something, totally taking away the tension out of the experience. Glad to see they were smarter than that.

Cherries have been popped now, two years to figure out how to shoehorn in a day/night cycle and dynamic weather doesn't seem too crazy.

That bit in the pits at the beginning, the pit crews milling around, the way the car peels out onto the circuit to take up its grid position... Wow. Those are gorgeous details.

Overall presentation looks absolutely top-tier once again.
Why can't I access this at work? Nooooo.

All this PGR talks really makes me want to restart a new career in PGR4... I wish it was on the XB1 Back Compat list.
lol this is the second thread I've seen you post about it in. Pray they resolve the HDD sound issues and we'll be fine :)
*hugs*

Edit: Holy shit they're up to 800. Maybe MS could even see the interest in the franchise and actually do something about it?!?

As much as I love PGR, it doesn't make much sense for MS to make a new one now that they have Horizon. I know it's not exactly the same thing but it's close enough.

Thanks for the videos BlimBlim, that Sebring at nighttime, holy shit...

Really pumped about the game. Can you apply weather/night time to every track or is it only a few?

Only a few, same for night time. In an interview with Dan he said that night time will only be on tracks that in the real world normally run night races. For rain, I think he said they are just picking a few where there normally is a lot of rain.

Interesting. A tad disappointing but still, looks like it is implemented very well.

Hope Le Mans is at night.

Guess: There'll be a Le Mans 24hr race, and when there's a "driver swap", we'll see some kind of loading screen or something and we'll get the different times of day. Most driver swaps last weekend were done around the changes of light (and during the day), so if we get morning, day, dusk and night, we'll be set. Actually, I think they're usually 4 hour stints.

Oh god, if they could pull that off I would die.

Dan talked about the endurance racing in the career being like a 2hr driver stint, so I assume we'll get something along or close to those lines in the career.

Tried it today...the "3D puddles" isn't just PR. Hydro planing is real and puddles are menacing. I also played as the GT through Rio and played during a night race...my gawd

How clean was the IQ? Forza mainline series always had a lot of jaggies that hurt the image quality, how was it in that regard? Are the crowds all 3d now?

i heard someone else compare it to fm5 when racing in time trials. so, an improvement at least.

Did a little research into what the other 5 tracks could be for Forza 6.

So far, all of the tracks from FM5 are returning, with Indianapolis getting a ribbon update. This leaves us with 17 environments with 64 layouts (from Badned's list on Forzacentral).

Also announced are Daytona, Rio, Brands Hatch and Watkins Glen. According badned once again,Brands Hatch will add two ribbons, Daytona will add two ribbons, Rio will add one ribbon (possible more though, usually the cover tracks have more than one ribbon) and Watkins Glen with two ribbons.

From this, we can see at this stage FM6 has 21 environments, with a minimum of 71 ribbons. So In order to reach the over 100 ribbons that they are claiming (source, from this twitch stream w/Brian Ekberg http://www.twitch.tv/expertzone_xbox/b/669656057,The remaining 5 tracks must have atleast 25ish+ ribbons (30 if we say Rio only has 1 layout, but I assume it will have reverse/short etc). Does this mean would could see the return of a track with a variety of ribbons like Fujimi or Camino Viejo/Iberion/Ladera? It looks more likely now atleast!

Also Brian said there will be over 80 showcase events in career mode... wow thats a lot!!!

I'm really impressed by what I've seen so far. I was actually resigned to the fact we might not even get night or rain racing at all due to time or technical issues, so it's exceeded my expectations so far. Dynamic weather/TOD would have been awesome, but it's nothing to complain about. It looks to me like a step-up from Forza 5 in every area we've seen so far.

Have we heard on whether car clubs are back in Forza 6? I'm hoping we can have the GAF club back again, it made Forza 4 great for the rivalry and leaderboard components. I'm hoping the Mitsubishi Starion is making a return too :)
