Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more


Thanks for the links, not 60fps, but it looks like the best quality at the moment. Image quality seems a bit better than FM5's, that ocean of a puddle in the middle of the track looks great too. Hoping Wiswell's got something special lined up for us in terms of audio.
 
I expected the graphics would be great but not that great.

It's awesome. I usually don't bother about simulation but in this case I'm completely in!

I know you guys have to choose the games you capture wisely due to time restraints and I'm really glad you took time for Forza 6. :D

Racing games are always very popular during game shows, even though this year it's not going to be that good as some people had access to the game yesterday already...

That was a good interview. I love what he talked about the leagues. I hope it works as intended. I also have to commend Dan for answering all the questions, and for the most part no wavering. Turn 10 is a studio I trust to deliver on what they promise. That 5 day early access for Ultimate Edition is soooo tempting!

LOL, yeah...I think so. Can you do it again? I ended up not getting the approval until after they released "screenshots" (the entire reason I wanted in). So I ended up not downloading the preview app.

Turns out, I didn't know this, if you wait more than 30 days the invite/message is cleared.

Now I want to try out the 360 BC, and I can't, Derp

edit: is it me or does Rio seem like a PGR track? Sounds weird I know, but it reminds me of PGR.

Rio looks really nice and I'm always happy to get more fictional tracks.... Speaking of which... Please bring back Maple Valley! I miss that track so much. I want to take that last downhill section with the full speed right hander to the finish line!

I'm trying not to shit on Forza too much, but the standing water/puddles seem a bit OTT to me. I mean real life racing circuits are so well drained you rarely get massive puddles (I expect to be embarrassingly proven wrong here).
It seems to me T10 are unnecessarily putting puddles everywhere to show off their new tech

We'll be talking about that more in the coming weeks/months, it's a refinement and improvement of the system that was in place in Forza 5.
 
I like the realistic droplet movement on the windshield, even if you spin out, heh.

It's a really effective... effect. I love the way the droplets streak in fan-shaped lines, just like on a real windshield. The streaks on the side windows are great too. The speed and movement of the drops is spot-on.
 
Pit stops are in.
Tyre width and compounds can be selected, which is cool.

Animated pit stops? That would be quite an achievement with 450 cars, all with different fuel cap positions and tyre placements. I guess if anyone could do it, Turn 10 could.

That section is such a pucker inducer! Thank goodness for rewind, I've crashed a lot there

I wouldn't get my hopes up. Shift animations in FM5 and FH2 don't really take into account the shifter placement
 
No custom lobbies? :/

Custom lobbies are in but only as private lobbies and will not have a public search system for lobbies.

Apparently they are going with a playlist system called leagues that is setup to attract certain racers to certain leagues in order to maintain a high population in the playlists.

I hope they have a good voting system or sequence system to keep the tracks fresh.

Cool, thanks. The different fuel cap positions and tyre tracks is what continues to delay animated pit stops in pCARS, and that's got, what, 1/6 of the cars? I guess you'd need a reactive pit crew that automatically adjusts to each individual car, rather than canned animations.
 
BTW apparently they are adding mods on top of assists in order to make the game harder for people that want a harder experience.

I'm guessing this is Forza's version of skulls in Halo?

He finally answered my question on upgrading. :P

He said they have a lot of new tire compounds coming.
 
VIP is 20$ normally right?

The deluxe edition is 20$ more than the standard... What's the point?


I hope we'll get a rebate on it if we have vip on FM5 and/or FH2 like we got with FH2.
 
The load times in the E3 demo are as terrible as the load times in Forza 5 (based on this twitch livestream). That's unfortunate. I hope they fix this before release.
 
Watching the broll is one thing, but watching gamersyde's vids at 60 fps is just sick. Hell, they even have leaves flying around on Brands Hatch. What the hell!

The fact that rain and night are not available for every track is a HUGE disappointment. It was already disappointing to find out that there was no actual dynamic stuff but now to learn that it's not even on every tracks? That really sucks.

Yeah. Maybe they have to balance performance. I guess rain will only be available on the tracks that are less demanding, graphics wise.
