Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

There is always Forza 7. :D

I'm just happy they didn't have to compromise the resolution or framerate.

I concur with sentiment about res and framerate. Knowing that its going to be "Rock Solid 60fps" like F5 makes it a true sim race to me. Project Cars looks good with its weather/tod but that framerate is a no no for a sim in my book.

I own most sim racers out there and I feel that they all bring something to the table that all deserve to be owned. It's silly that people fight over favorites when they are all there to be enjoyed for what they offer.

I agree. I'm a fan of racing games, not a hardware platform or a franchise. And when I criticise a franchise it's because I want it to be better. Forza has been on a very good run, so I've criticised GT which I feel has had a week run. But I want both to be excellent.

I think that's the plan.

EDIT- ok I couldn't do that to you guys, i'll leave the kittens though:

Well...ultimate edition pre ordered.....

I need to know about the community and how it's been completely revamped away from that horrid system in Forza 5. And.....more mustang news.

Oh god, please don't let there be stupid pre-order exclusives (liveries are OK, entire cars are not). Or content locked away behind "LE"s.

Given I don't have a One, I won't exactly be in a position to justify preordering the game. So if I miss content, I'll be bummed.

Rio looks more varied then most tracks. Any chance its a fairly epic lap? Anyone have an idea of a typical lap time?

Forza Horizon 2 weather? same rain animations on the windscreen and hood of the cars.

The droplets on the windscreen are actually reacting to the cars speed.
The hood cam seems to still have the static water droplets though.

Already hyped for this.
Give it to me now!!!

How many of you who are getting this buy racing wheels as well? I loved Forza 2 but then I got my actual license and haven't really enjoyed playing with a controller since. I wonder how much more enjoyable these games are with wheels..

There a lot of fun with a wheel. Get shifter and clutch for like 3x more enjoyments.

The first Rio de Janeiro one makes an excellent background for PC and Xbox One.

@T10, Helios:
You guys delivered. Weather, time of day, new surfaces, puddle physics, 1080p, 60fps, >450 cars in incredible detail, grid of 24, new tracks, Rio... You guys are amazing! Great year for Xbox.

Can't believe it's already out in September! From Nov 2013 to Sep 2015, 10 new tracks, 200 to 450 cars fully modeled, selected weather and night racing, can't wait!

A bit too much negativity in here for my taste. I wanted it to be fully dynamic, too, but will it really matter ones the game is out? Nah. But this just shows how high they set the standards every time, people just expect them to.

Are we getting a demo before the release? Can't wait to play :)

Also @Helios, have you guys worked on the wheel support/ffb? Just got my Thrustmaster TX last week and to be honest it feels somewhat weird in Forza 5. Especially around the center it's kind of week. And with the default sensitivity of the wheel the game is pretty much unplayable. With a proper sensitivity the wheel feels even weaker around the center.

By the way....

Imagine the next horizon with technologies they could use from Forza 6 with their own adjustments. Without need of 60 fps cap they can do a lot

So people's response to others saying it seems like the average race being 5 minutes long isn't changing is that there are endurance races now? That doesn't do anything to stop 90% of career mode being 2-4 lap races where you need to pass half the field in the first few turns to have any chance of winning.

Holy shit it looks good, I can see what they mean by "3D puddles" now.

Watched a direct feed video of someone driving on Brands Hatch, and there was a huge puddle that had taken up half the road at the bottom of paddock bend, don't think I've ever seen "flood puddles" like that before in any racing game.

If FM can get the "racing experience" down, then it could surpass PCars.......

B-roll is up. Gamersyde should upload soon. Looks like the FM5 time trial AA (4xAA?).

We don't put broll up like that, that's not what you are supposed to do with these. Also they are 29.97 fps, which proves once again that MS has absolutely no idea how to promote their games.

IQ looks a ton better. I wish they showed more of FM6 during the conference, main attraction for me.

Congrats Turn 10, it looks amazing.

Image quality looks to be improved over 5.
From the screenshots, it does look like it. From the gameplay vid, it's not quite as obvious. Looked a lot like FM5 but with weather and nighttime to me. Which isn't a terrible thing, depending on how much you cared about those things.

I was most impressed with the behaviour of the cars through patches of water. I've always said that wet weather is overrated in racing games because it's never done properly, but this is a nice step in the right direction. Kudos.

I know what you mean. It still has the Forza look. There's definately a lot more going on though, and the environments look a lot better.
