The Tom Brady cult is terrifying. This is some Jonestown level shit.
I can see how those things are related and the same.

It was a poor analogy.I can see how those things are related and the same.
Did Brady really say he didn't even know one of the guys? And now they have text conversations between Brady and that guy?
It was a poor analogy.
But to be fair it is pretty hard to find defenders and sympathizers of cheating cunts. I don't remember anyone on this board sticking up for Barry Bonds, ARod, or Lance Armstrong the way Pats fans are doing for Tommy.
What would it take for you to part ways with the cheater?#UnitedWithTom
What would it take for you to part ways with the cheater?
Did you ever even disown Hernandez or are they all part of the dysfunctional family no matter the crime?

.When interviewed, Brady claimed that, prior to the events surrounding the AFC Championship Game, he did not know McNally‟s name or anything about McNally‟s game-day responsibilities, including whether McNally had any responsibilities relating to game balls or the game officials. When asked specifically whether he had spoken with Jastremski about McNally on the night of the Jets game, he stated: I didn‟t know who Jim McNally was so I find it hard to believe I could bring that up. On this point, Brady‟s statement is inconsistent with Jastremski‟s statements that Brady knew McNally and made a comment about McNally during the Jets game when complaining about the game balls.

Are we sure Ben was drunk?Maybe if Brady were drunkingly force himself on a woman would make Brady fans turn on him.
This drama might make the Pats and Belichick run a table like after spygate, putting up 50 points left and right.
Welcome to sports fandom. Enjoy your stay.
I honestly don't think this is as big a deal as people making it to be.
But Brady fucked himself by not coming clean earlier.
As always, the coverup is worse than the crime.
It was a poor analogy.

That said, shooting steroids into you and your teammates is different from knowing or not knowing that an equipment guy is deflating footballs to 12.5 PSI.
Are we sure Ben was drunk?
He definitely forced himself on drunken women, most probably without their consent, but I don't recall that Ben was extremely intoxicated
But thats Ben's MO. Between the lines on the field. Raping fat chicks off it.
Oh so this is the kind of cheating that doesn't matter. You misremember Barry Bonds. Lance Armstrong and ARod are different, yankees fans came to hate Arod and wanted him suspended because of his contract. Nobody liked Armstrong.

They both are against the rules. It that way they are the same.
Whether he did or did not know, he's still the GOAT. People are actually comparing "probably knowing" about under-inflated footballs to taking steroids, illegal drugs, to increase their performance? Pitchers used to doctor balls all the time and some are in the hall of fame. Jerry Rice used stickum. He's in the hall of fame. It's a wrist-slap offense.
I just think people are salty because Brady and the Patriots won four Super Bowls the last 15 years and their team won less.

"Probably knew about them" is a hilarious interpretation of what you know full well happened. That's bill Clinton parsing right there.

I'm pretty sure you're aware that the Pats' history with cheating scandals is what's causing this hysteria, coupled with their success. My whole thing isn't so much with defending Tom Brady as it is responding and being amused by the wholesale hysteria that the world takes on when a scandal breaks involving the Patriots, Belichick, or Brady.
Case in point, New York radio personality Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo went absolutely bonkers insane on Tom Brady's Dad because he called Brady's Dad trying to get an interview, and Brady's dad replied "not a chance," and Mad Dog went on a 60 second, ridiculous rant calling Tom Brady's Dad spineless and gutless for not going on New York radio with him. It's the most mad I've ever ever heard Mad Dog, he actually lost his voice over it at the end of the rant.
So, sure, Brady is my waifu and I love him, but I'll tacitly admit he probably knew about these guys letting air out of the ball and liked that they did it. But, I'm mostly fascinated by the insanity of people around the world when there's an opportunity for a Patriots scandal. Hell you have the President of the United States making jokes and jabs about deflated footballs, and yet he's silent on LB Greg Hardy choking and beating up his girlfriend while someone in the background screams to 9-11 "Hes beating her fuck ! He's beating her!"
It's the spectacle of it all that I love.
No, there was no direct text between the two.
One of the guys texting the other dude said, "Yea, Brady mentioned you". so I guess it's kinda the same thing.
Weird that you have more faith in Tom's innocence that he did, judging by his failure to cooperate with the investigation or turn over his cell phone. That's not actually his interpretation, that's what the report says.
"It is more probable than not that Tom Brady was at least generally aware of inappropriate activities."
I agree with you, it's hilarious.
The thing I love about all this is the fact that people are making a big deal about a rule the NFL didn't care about at all. The independent report also confirms that even if you do nothing to a football, the pressure can drop below 12.5 and some Colt balls were below 12.5 . People are mad because the Patriots balls were below the Colts ones even though if you take the rule as the rule, the Colts were also technically in violation. Pats probably did something deliberate, but holding up this rule as sacrosanct is the dumbest thing on the planet.
True. That "improbably low fumble rate" has been disputed 1000x times over. Pretty much every person who has a shred of credibility has said that the deflated balls offered no performance increase outside of perhaps personal comfort or a psychological affect.
I guess when you are part of a cheating culture for such an extended period of time you eventually start to think it is normal. The thing I love about all this is the fact that people are making a big deal about a rule the NFL didn't care about at all. It's not a surprising response honestly, especially given the special place the NFL has in terms of the most popular sport in the US.
This is playing out much how I expected.
-Successful team
-Previous cheating scandal
-Terrible PR Year for the NFL
-Cheating discovered in Playoff game
-SB Win
That's just a perfect recipe for this response.

True.
This joke site also came to the same conclusion:

benm: There’s definitely more to be done on the Patriots fumbling to isolate for the fact that they were the most consistently winning team, the types of plays they ran, their personnel, how that period fits in historical context (have other dominant teams had similarly bizarre quirks), etc.

It's just the success and salty tears of almost all other teams except a couple. Other teams have star players raping women, beating women unconscious on video (and then making her apologize), and beating kids bloody. No where near the backlash.
Fans really don't care about off the field stuff.
You know this.
This stuff has been going on for decades. It only came to a precipice this season due to the Ray Rice video.
