I'm not a fan of drafting 2nd round and lower QBs. the vast majority of high 1st round QBs bust, its even harder hitting on a QB from the 2nd on. It's easy to see why teams do it with the desperate need for QBs.

The 2nd and 3rd rounds typically are a QB drought mostly for this reason; if there was a potential franchise guy he would probably have been taken already. And these picks are just too high to justify drafting a guy if you aren't fully committed to him as your guy going forward.

Sounds like this isn't leverage over Ihedigbo.

Hopefully Carter will be ready for prime time in his second season, like Slay was.

So I guess the plan for the future is Slay at one corner, and Carter/Nevin Lawson at the other, with the third for nickel? None of them still feel like a real shut-down sort of guy, so I guess we're really hoping that Ngata and Ansah keep our D-line rolling hot. The overall quality of the defense still feels pretty dubious to me.

I wouldn't mind taking a punt on Collins because fuck it, what are the odds that this QB is going amount to anything?

Looked good when Cooks was there, and looked bad once he left. To me it's a wasted pick

But the thing about the Rams, besides OL, they are deep. They need stars and a QB. But they have lots of solid players at most positions

Grayson was the best QB left.

Petty and Hundley are both massive projects not worth wasting a pick this early on.
And even Grayson will be holding a clipboard for a few seasons.
Then again, I don't see anyone rushing to hastily spend a high pick on either project. (Well, aside from the Rams... but they're the Rams.)

After 40-50 games of Bradford, no QB can hurt me now.

I don't even know what I want the Patriots to do at the end of round three. I'm still in shock. I'd like to see La'el, but that isn't happening. Maybe Grady Jarrett, Tre Jackson, or Paul Dawson.

I really don't see why the Steelers need a WR.

They need a (tall) WR for those times they're in the redzone and Ben is running around like a headless chicken only to get sacked.

If Coates is a One trick Pony like Wallace and his one trick is high pointing, he's going to score a ton of touchdowns.

Seems like the plan. Lawson looked good before the injury.

Dunno about the line. Ansah is good but can he make that next step without Suh wrecking havoc on the line? Ngata will be solid on the line I'm sure, I just can't imagine him doing what Suh did. The DT we got from the Saints seems like a solid pick up, and his stats were pretty similar to Fairley's. But will that be enough? We'll stop the run, no doubt in my mind. But I'm not so sure about pressuring QBs and sacks. And if we don't get pressure, everything else falls apart (see: New England game).

The other issue...who is going to start opposite of Ansah? Jason Jones I assume, but he's another guy I can't help imagine will regress without Suh.

RichCimini: Jets 3rd-rnd pick Lorenzo Mauldin overcame tough childhood. In and out of 16 foster homes, still earned college degree. Impressive. #NYJpick

I'm saying the quality of RB available now won't be too different from when we draft next round.

I disagree. Dallas is going to be starting Darren Fuckin' McFadden at this rate.

Good. He's ready for life as a Jet, then.

Was Clemmings gone?

I think he's still out there.

Surprised we didn't go OT again. The other tackle we wanted was available

My gut tells me that just by the sheer amount of interviews they did for OL they either weren't impressed or they are saving them up for later rounds. I don't know though. Hard to tell. It's a hard read for me this year, and I haven't been able to follow it as closely as I usually do.

And who did you want us to take? Ajayi? Dude might not even get drafted at all. We'll take sometime like Langford or Davis next round and see who wins the starting job in camp.

i don't know if you know this but one time the patriots drafted a QB in the 6th round and they ended up in the superbowl. that quarterback was kliff kingsbury. so you just never know

Yeah but you have to remember that:

A) The Rams are garbage

B) We don't have the bonus of playing in a shit-tier division

C) We're not very good at cheating

D) Fuck the Pats
