I guess putting in a SSD voids the warranty?
Nope!
Its the one modification you can do that doesn't violate the warranty.

what makes you think they thought it was okay?

No. Hard drive is user upgradable, Sony even has a guide. But you won't see a huge jump in performance.
Load times did get on my nerves last night, not sure how they thought it was OK and not an issue before release.
That's not how development works and that's not how developers think.well, they released it in this state and obviously beta tested it.. so, I guess they thought it wasn't an issue.
I heard it was at least a jump of 5-10 seconds on average for ingame bloodborne
Seems significant and should be even more so once its patched

The devs are probably the ones who are the most upset about these issues and that they couldn't fix/improve them in time.
The load times really seem to be Bloodborne's "blighttown," if you look at how much time they take up on a whole.

In fact, From programmers are probably the ones who are the most upset about these issues and that they couldn't fix/improve them in time.

Or they were getting close to the release date, needed to go gold soon, and delegated what would be on the disc and what would be fixed in the day one/early patches. That's the norm for any game these days, patching is the norm and release has become somewhat of an arbitrary milestone for better or for worse.
I just hope that they have been working on it and not just "exploring another patch", which kind of implies that they haven't been looking at it.
Fixing load times (unless there's an obvious bug) could be a significant undertaking.
Looking at their past, I wonder about that.
Call these load times? These are weak sauce, I timed 4min 27 secs on LBP3 the other night. There's supposed to be a patch coming for that too!
Yeah, performance never seems to be top priority for FROM. Not that I blame them too much. However, shipping Dark Souls on consoles with the state of Blighttown was a game development crime. That was outright disrespectful to people playing the game.
Nah, that framerate was a feature!

Doesn't change the fact that they let the game go gold. They were OK with the game in that state.
I remember all the posters who said 30fps was acceptable if at a constant lock.
A hybrid HD/SDD drive would be a similar gain and is more cost effective.
I've definitely experienced FPS/network issues with co-op. As summoning and being summoned.
Ah, like increasing the difficulty?
No idea. I haven't read any statements about it.Has From ever commented on what they were thinking?
Constant 30 would be one thing. I saw a big frame drop right outside the first couple of rooms, before I encountered anything other than. The only object was on screen were some of the little note spots with the zombie like things and the particle effect.the first werewolf
Beyond that, which is bad enough, the jittery frame rate is extraordinarily janky. It's just bad.
Do you have evidence for this? I had a hybrid drive and its performance gains were not detectable on a PC. From what I researched, hybrid drives increase OS load time performance and not much else, as they OS use the SSD portion as a cache, whereas most other programs utilize the HDD portion as normal (and thus see the same performance).
If that's not true, I'd love to see more information on the subject.
It's not co-op, but very few of the phantoms seem to work for me.
No? Why would it?
Funny thing is I have an extra 256gb SSD but it's full and in my PC right now.
So far the only real major technical issue I've had is Old Yharnam. I'd never heard a console 'cough' before but that's the only way to describe it.
The aliasing and frame spacing are a bigger issue than the loading times for me.
are these patchable?
Sorry, don't know much about this stuff. :/

Sure, nearly everything is patchable. Of course that doesn't mean they'll actually do it.
back in the "good old days" it would have been left as is just as likely.
