Bloodborne Load Times are Getting Patched. Along with other performance optimisations

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Bloodborne is set to get a patch to improve its performance, Sony has announce.

The company has issue a statement to IGN explaining it hopes to reduce loading times and improve other elements too.

"The development team is currently exploring another patch for Bloodborne, seeking ways to improve load time duration, in addition to other performance optimisations and miscellaneous bug fixes," it reads. "We will provide more information as soon as possible."

The way it's worded does not sound guaranteed that they will noticeably improve the load time?
I doubt they released the game thinking "yeah, this shit is broken, we'll have to fix it". I'm sure they gave it their best and the results simply didn't pan out. Now that they're being called out for it, I'm sure there is pressure to find ways to improve the situation. It can't be an easy thing to fix.

The development builds of the game featured some insanely long load times so they've definitely been making progress but, yeah, 45 seconds is just too long for this type of game. Damn near ruinous.

Just another example of why it's best to wait a few months after a game releases. Devs will fix their games and you can find it at a better price.

I'm glad it isn't out here yet.

just do what any smart person does and hold off on buying games day one. I get games months later, when they're not only better optimized but also much cheaper, too.
Well I got Bloodborne for basically free and my PS4 was in desperate need of a game. Normally I'd never get a game day one for full price.

That's the only thing bad about the game that I saw from watching the streams. Once they fix this long loading problem, this game should be golden.

I guess it was too much for them to notice how annoying the frame pacing thing was in beta testing... ... ...
I'm sure they were aware of it but couldn't fix it in time/weren't allowed more delays by the publisher.

These issues aren't something any developer would be happy with.

This is the annoying thing. First dayers pay the most for a worse off experience.

Yeah, I'm slowly coming off my "I must play it on release week" mentality that I have. It's working...kinda. Some games I wait on, but shit like Master Chief Collection and Unity, I jumped right in -- getting slapped, spit on and laughed at by both studios.

I'll never complain when a patch is released to make a great game better. From haven't released an incomplete or fundamentally broken game here, they are just refining it.

All good in my book.

Generally agreed, but in this case long load times are such a miniscule issue, I have no problem buying the game now.

Awesome to hear! 30-50 seconds does seem to long to wait to respawn in a game where you will die a lot.
Hoping to get it tomorrow, so hoping it's out soon, even better if it's out tomorrow ;)

So would that mean the game has to be re-reviewed and the 9.5's turned to 10's?? :P

So far my longest load time was 35 seconds, my first death with the level reloading. Seems to be 25-28 seconds when going back to the Refuge. So yeh, not bad really.

Except the load times arent a huge issue compared to the stuttering.
I mean they aren't good at all, but the framepacing effects the gameplay.
