Batmech lookin anime as hell in that cover, I'm in. DC wants that Arkham Knight money so why not?
As long as comic gods are answering prayers can they send mark millar away?

Now I can read Batman
Millar is too busy getting movie money and makin badass indie comics bruh.
you mean the entire
Kill him offscreen but not really, but yes really, but not really?

He died in Krypton Returns. It was Superman #25.

Why can't Batman just be Batman?

If you really need to shake up the continuity to allow for this new Batman, why not make him a new character? Because he's only going to fade away if he's called Batman.

Or would no-one read it if it wasn't Batman #41?

Im quoting a line from the CEO of WB who is in charge of all aspects of the company from the comics to the films to consumer products. I keep quoting it because it is stupid and shows how WB/DC is still out of touch after all these years.

No he isn't. The person on charge of DCE is Diane Nelson, and even she doesn't run the comics - that's Didio. That quote was about the movies, and the movies only.

You know that, and everyone who's read that quote knows that. But it's good to know how absolutely transparent you've been about this bullshit.

I mean, look at it this way

People that have been reading Scott Snyder's run enjoy it enough that they're up for some big (albeit temporary changes) because Snyder has demonstrated that he is a great storyteller to many people. People that are disgusted by these changes most likely haven't been reading Batman at all, so this did nothing for them, even though supposedly what they want (Batman being Batman) has been going on for the last 40 issues, which is about 3 years.

Anyway, we don't know what happens in issue #40, the last chapter of end game. So we don't even know what this is about yet, but people (who most likely haven't read Snyder's Batman) are treating this is as they treat most comic book announcements.

Thus is the way of comic books these days.
Readers are so low they think they need to do crap like this to get a boost,
But in reality the stunts and crap are the reason so many people are abandoning them.

Hmmm...

He's just not Bat enough anymore, man. Even in the issue when he took on the Justice League with a ridiculously detailed and expensive contingency plan in the form of a Battle Robo in the middle of Gotham City.

Not even then.

Are you criticizing it!?....it was freaking glorious

I feel like that's a case of the wrong artist for the job. Something like that should have been super cartoony, since it's so silly.

Capullo is amazing though. And why is this silly again?
Yeah he is, but it's not the right fit. And why is it silly that Batman gave a cute name to the fist full of tiny suns he has? Uhhh

Don't get me wrong, I love silliness, but it could have been helped by a different artist to really bring out the zaniness.

Capullo's art style isn't cartoony?
To a degree, but it's clearly aiming for some sort of realism.

*shrug* Batman names all his toys. Clark's weak to a red sun aka red giant. I dunno, when I think zany, I think Grant Morrison, not Snyder.

It's stated later in that same book that Alfred also gives names to the gadgets, and let's be honest here....wouldn't you?

Batman's readers are low.

I take it back, this is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in this thread.

Im saying comics in general, Batman does relatively good/great but no comics really do as well as they should.
And im not speaking to this specific event as we don't even know what it is yet, im taking all the status quo changes that last maybe a few months made just to drum up a few extra readers.
The major events they have to have every year as well as character "deaths" just for the heck of it etc.

Wait so Snyder is done with the Batman ongoing? I haven't read Dark City or Endgame yet, I've only read up to Secret City.

He's doing this one too, but he has warned us that he's going batshit crazy with this last ark of his.

Also, Dark City and EG, sogoood.gif

Something BIG will happen in #40.
And then we get robatman, we don't know who or what it is. Probably it isn't even Batman
Ooooh I see cool cool Thanks. I gotta catch up! I'm collecting the trade paperbacks but they're taking too long to come out. Might just read the stories digitally and do my collecting later.

wow I just read Jon's fate on wikipedia. wtf

Eventually, Jon encounters his future self (the genetic template for Kon-El) in the present—in stasis, dying from illness— and touching it, creates a temporal paradox which, through a lingering psychic connection to Kon-El who remains alive in the distant future, pulls them as well as Superboy Jons and Kons from across the Multiverse as well as other timelines to a pocket universe. The younger Jon teams up with Kon to fight against his older, psychotic self with help from Rose Wilson and Guardian, but find they are massively outmatched by him. The older Jon is even able to use his psionic powers to take control of the minds of the other Superboys, numbering in their hundreds, and siphon the power of a Green Lantern from one of the alternate worlds. The younger Jon heroically sacrifices himself to destroy the elder Jon, obliterating them both through his TK, sending all the other Jons and Kons back to their respective timelines, dimensions and universes. Jon isn't erased from history, and his actions outside of the pocket universe are well remembered, but he is truly gone, leaving Kon-El once again as Superboy.[6]

why won't they leave Superman/Loisand Superboy alone

What. The. Fuck.

No, I loved it. I'm criticizing the idea that we haven't been getting "let Batman be Batman" stories. This is about as "Batman" as you can get.

Ah, yeah. I get you now. I actually agree with this general sentiment, even if I don't think it necessarily applies here.

Kevin Tsujihara is Diane Nelson and Didios boss

Seeing that cover in the Superman Wonder Woman costume thread confirms my suspicions,
Im definitely expecting this "new Batman" to be a GCPD initiative of some sort now.
