Does anyone have a list (with spoiler tags) of which party members/classes have been written by Chris Avellone?

/fanboy

I don't think classes have substantial differences from the others outside of gameplay and the odd class specific choice. Like, I don't think they have a guy that wrote the Barbarian and someone else who wrote the Wizard and so on.

Today we have some information and screen shots on Raedric's Hold for you all!

The Raedric line has held dominion over the lands surrounding Gilded Vale for generations, and its formidable keep stands as a bulwark against the dangers of the Dyrwood. Despite their lofty position as Aedyran nobility, the Raedrics joined in the fighting for independence from the Empire during the War of Defiance. In the wake of the Dyrwood's victory, they retained both their stronghold and their stature. Raedric VII now carries the title of Thayn, pledged to Gilded Vale's defense against all threats - both physical and spiritual in nature. Raedric's iron-fisted rule has seen his people through many hardships, but in the aftermath of the Saint's War, new threats have arisen - threats Raedric has sworn to scour from his lands and reclaim some of Gilded Vale's past glory. At his invitation, new settlers have braved long distances to settle within Gilded Vale, tempted by the offer of land and opportunity.

So is anyone else conflicted whether to play this or Bloodborne first? Surely I'm not alone here. They both look so good!

No PS4, so no. Maybe if I would have picke done up instead of an Xbone... something I sometimes wish.

But, realistically, still no. As much as I liked Dark Souls 2, those games don't hold a candle to something like this, IMHO, in terms of depth.

I donated lots of money and Pillars of Eternity has been my most wanted game for years. I will play this first. I will buy Bloodborne in July when I have my summer vacation.

Ok, maybe it's the objects then. Some of those sarcophaguses look a bit sharp-edged.

Some areas will not get a paint over due to lack of time and artists. I don't think we have seen any painted over areas yet. They should look even better than what we have seen.

Ok, it looks great, but some bits still have that infinity engine feel to them.

The 3D models are all great though.

I don't know anything about the game, I've only watched the "classes" video posted before.
One question about the combat: from what I've seen, every action is done after a certain amount of time pass, right?

Well in the combat videos you see a "cooldown" bar for each attack, and then you can take an action(or whatever was queued before), with spells having cast times too before they activate. Cooldown I assume is based on attack speed, so faster attack speeds means ability to get more actions in.

Couldn't even tell you what that game is.
What does it have to do with a 2D isometric PC RPG?

It's another high-profile RPG releasing at the end of March (two days before Eternity, I believe). Different as the game design may be, its fanbase overlaps somewhat with Pillars of Eternity's -- particularly on an enthusiast forum like GAF.

I will probably roll my character in Bloodborne and poke around the first area, but as soon as Eternity launches, it gets my full attention.

Yes, this is a decent video on it which has some decent diagrams explaining the calculations for how long Actions takes and the recovery. Though this is a bit old and the exact math behind it might have changed since then. But the basic idea is the same.

Yeah, there's a timer that counts down until your next action can be taken.
If you have a queued action, it will be executed when the timer expires, unless it gets interrupted.

I'm only vaguely familiar with it. It's one of those Souls thingies, right?

Pretty much, yeah. New IP from the creator of Demon's/Dark Souls. It has different gameplay systems, but the subgenre is the same.

Meh, never gave much thought to either Dark Souls or Demon Souls either. They look too actiony for my tastes. RTwP is as close to "action" as I want this type of game.

I guess there's overlap in that, as you said, it's another game coming out around the same time, and if it's a "AAA Game™" GAF tends to be all over those. But, being hugely interested in this game, that game doesn't even register on my view.

I backed via paypal, where can I redeem my version when it hits? Never received a single email. Anyhwere to check?

Did you set up an account on Eternity.obsidian.net? That have a portal allowing you to manage your pledge and add in additional options like the First Expansion, Avellone's Novella and other things. All you need is the email associated with the Paypal account you used.

Disregard this, simply command the party to attack one target and overwhelm your enemies. : ^)

Don't have a pS4. Even if I did, I would choose PoE. Bloodbourne looks like it could be fun, but nothing about it is a must play. I still haven't played the Souls games that I have.

Maybe already answered but couldn't find it in the OP...is there any multiplayer component to this ala Divinity: Original Sin?

There is no multiplayer of any kind.

Thanks. Apparently I already did that. Tried to sign up to see "username already taken" so I tried my usual log in info and it worked. I already linked my papal email and I'm eligible to grab the game on launch day. Hope it works, since I never got an email with anything since then.

Yeah, an enhanced edition a la The Witcher, including hand painting for all areas, would be cool. Maybe releasing it together with the expansion (which I've backed).

And moving trees/bushes/vegetation.

Just one more reason why this game needs to sell well. IT MUST.

Don't let me down, PC-bros.

I never finish a Souls game. Not because they're too hard, it's just because there aren't too RPG-ish for me, very limited narrative bored me to tears. I love texts and dialogue in my RPGs.

Now I'm wondering how well this will actually sell. An ie style blast from the past doesn't seem like it would have the most mass appeal but Poe has the benefit of being a pioneering kickstarter project and all the attention that comes with that.

I actually wonder if it succeeds at what it is trying to do if the media/consumers will dig this kind of game.
