Isn't Gakkyu Hotei drawn by Obata and seems like something out of Phoenix Wright, if so I might read.

Yes that is exactly how it is, except with elementary schoolers. As a Phoenix Wright and Obata fan though I'm not blown away by the series. It's not bad but it can get a little stupid and boring now and then in my opinion. The art can be good but I just can't handle the stories. I will admit the last arc was better than the rest so it could get better but right now I couldn't recommend it.

Nisekoi's Haru Onodera. AKA the one bright light in that desert of nothing ever happening.

I am deflated. Anyone got any smut rec's that have +50 chapters? I'm always on the prowl for more manga to consume. Also, I'm surprised
Velvet Kiss
isn't mentioned here whatsoever.

I never asked Dani but where is your avy from?
Please don't say Nisekoi...
VRMN and envelope already covered it, but yes, it's best Nisekoi Haru. I changed to Haru during the aftermath of the HxH bet in solidarity to the rest of the thread, and ended up deciding to stick with it after.

Terraformars 108 - 110

Almight Joseph, incredible. Why do these moments have to remain unanimated. Season 3 needs to happen for this alone.

Gate Theory was intresting.

I just need to confirm that we're all on the same page here and acknowledge that the Charles Darwin chapter cover of Prison School is in fact the greatest chapter cover of all time.

Could someone hit me up with Shoujo Ai / Yuri recommendations? Preferably,

1) Has a distinct, reconizable artstyle, doesn't necessary has to be good nor eye pleasing.
2) Stories for the Josei / Seinen audience
3) Features Adult Women

^In order of importance.

Here are some examples as to what I'm seeking.

Give me the best you got, even those you think are good but do not hit one or two of the above preferences.

Voluntary Nisekoi best girls avatar bro checking in *fistbump*

They evolve very fast, every 5-10 chapters there is a new variation and they make their own tools like slings and knives now instead of just stealing guns.

I'm still waiting for one to start speaking human languages.

i liked when they started to
steal the abilities of other people, showing that they are also capable (also rubbing salt in the former MC now senior commander guy wound since one of them was from his dead girlfriend lol)

yea i really do think that one is coming soon.

That whole evolution stuff is usually the main reason i still pay attention (glasses girl and the new Japan dude being bosses is another)

Green Worldz

It's interesting at the beginning and then the author just had to ruin it with all this macho Shounen fighting crap.

It would have been way more interesting if it stuck to the human trying to survive in the apocalyptic scenario thing instead of turning it into a battle manga. Meh, dropping this so fast.

Umaru 90

OH COME ON! YOU DON'T GET TO DO A CLIFFHANGER LIKE LAST CHAPTER AND THEN NOT ADDRESSING IT AT ALL IN THE NEXT!

Umaru 90

I'm going to assume they are dating, giving money is just too odd otherwise.

...It's still odd even if they are dating.

Given the choice between giving a gift because she's his girlfriend and because she's one of his sister's three close friends...the girlfriend is less weird by a hair. Chalk it up to Taihei being awkward, I guess?

Honey & Honey

Is Gunjo good? That cover is awesome.

Banana no Nana 1-end

Man, it must suck to have a story planned out all the way to the ending, and then told that you have to pretty much skip to it without any of the buildup because no one likes your series.

Could have been a fun if not somewhat generic battle shounen :/

You have read the Sakuranbo Syndrome I recommended before, right?

Then there's Momoiro Sango, I guess

You're so nice Nordicus lol. I read both Itazura na Kiss stories, the one with the butt cheek of dominance and the other one with the benjamin button girl. I read Momoiro Sango but got disappointed when it changed to a 4koma, lost the little continuity it had... I gave up on it afterwards and I really liked it...

The Ancient Magus Bride 10.5

This entire chapter was about Chise being cute and showing us that she's afraid of thunder. This is one of the best extra chapters I've read in a long, loooong time. Got fuzzy feeling all over

Elias knows how to make a bed cover tent just like that! Sleepover magic dabes

Ya know what, fuck it, this is not smut, but if you want shoujo that's Prison School levels of crazy for different reasons, read Bara no Tame ni

Sachiko Takeuchi's Honey & Honey which is about being a lesbian in Tokyo in 2005/6ish.
Shino Torino's Ohana Holoholo is about a family with probably one of the most distinct makeups possible. To make a simple comparison, it's a queer version of Usagi Drop.
Hiyori Otsu's work, which features both girls in highschool and in college/adult life. (The short chapter Maple Love stands out for me)
Jin Takemiya's work, which also features characters of different ages. Probably the most stand out work featuring adult women is Tragic Love Movie
Haru Akiyama's Octave - a story about a music producer and a songwriter who come together.
Shizuru Hayashiya's Strawberry Shake Sweet, which is probably best described as a gag version of Octave.
Shuninta Amano's work - I would probably suggest Sweet Guilty Love Bites out of the bunch.
Morishima Akiko's work, one of which you have in your list, although I think she's probably notable for me for writing about the yuri mangaka scene in YurixYuri Observation Diary.
Hisanari Minamoto's Wife and Wife which is also a comedy manga about two adult women.
Kizuki Akira and Satou Nanki's Ebisu-san and Hotei-san, which is a fairly standard workplace lesbian angst story.
Mitsue Aoki's The Papaya Gang, a sort of anthology series about hostesses. Some straight, some lesbian stories.
Shou Higashiyama's Stretch, which is about two women living together as roommates serving as an excuse to talk about various stretching exercises, but there are hints of a story.
Samba's Fluttering Feelings, which is interesting because it's a Korean yuri story about two women in college who meet.

There are some smaller things like Fujio's Under One Roof and Uko Nishi's Collectors, and also many, many one shots out there.

Honey & Honey
Maka-Maka
Cirque Arachne
Yuricam
Kase-san
Futari to Futari

Shieldbro LN spoilers up to 261

Looks like a lot of plot threads have been completely wrapped up.

the last witch punishment. man, idk, it was insanely cruel.

Having to hear all the time the anti naofumi stuff during the itsuki arc definitely took it's toll a bit.

Also would like more villain motivations that can't be immediately refuted by naofumi in his head in a oneliner due to obvious contradictions. I don't mind this too much, though.

eagerly going to read future updates. highly entertaining.

Stuff the others haven't recommended yet:

  • Husky and Medley by Kurosada
  • Under One Roof by Fujio
  • Mama Mama by Amano Shuninta

Morishima Akiko and Amano Shuninta's works in general should be up your alley. It's a shame Charade is so busy as he's the yuri guru around here.

I just need to confirm that we're all on the same page here and acknowledge that the Charles Darwin chapter cover of Prison School is in fact the greatest chapter cover of all time.

No objections here.

Why do Zweizer-senpai and Uso-Senpai love tormenting me?!
They find your suffering adorable~

...

Oh god, now I'm starting to talk like Zweizer, I just realized.

My kouhai sure are cute~

Go on... no please don't stop

His anime cherry was popped with Railgun
no homo

He cosplays every year at Anime Festival Asia Singapore and a bunch of other smaller cosplay events, and he's in an executive position at my University's anime/manga/cosplay club.

At AFA, he did Madoka 3 years ago, Gasai Yuno 2 years ago, I didn't go last year since I was in the US so I have no idea, but he'll probably go this year too.

I like to tell our circle of friends I ruined his life.

And his cosplay facebook page lists his gender as female. RIP me

So... how good are his cosplays? And does he do it outside of conventions/cosplays? I mean, I see men crossdressing for cosplay all the time.

He gonna go after your heart~

No zweizer he's not that much of a creep

He used to be terribad. His makeup skills are a lot better now though, and his sewing is too. And he's really pale so that helps

I don't wanna go into that world

Hey guys can any one recommend me some manga?
I don't read much manga and I am kind of in the mood.
I want manga that feature more real/drama romance.
I don't mean like some depressing love story or anything.
I'm not sure how to describe what I want. Hmm... like instead of super average generic high school boy managing to get 5 super cute girls in love with him (but he is too dense/indecisive to do anything!) I would more like a story where the lead maybe likes a girl but doesn't know how to go about approaching her or something.
For example I really liked how in Cross Game, lots of things are kind of subtle and there isn't much internal monologue. You have lots of panels where characters are just kind of looking there, or thinking, but you don't know what they are thinking. I like that kind of stuff.
Some manga that I've read, that I think contain what I am talking about are:
Hatsukoi Limited
School Rumble
Cross Game
Ichigo 100%

I know Ichigo 100% is harem stuff that I said I don't want, but I liked how the relationship/love triangle drama stuff was portrayed.
I don't actually remember much of anything about Hatsukoi Limited but I think it's kind of what I want.

ALSO
are there any sites or databases where you can search series by the types of characters they have? Like, say I wanted to search by "Protagonist: university" or "work setting"/"school setting". Kind of like how you can on vndb if any body has been there.

Why not? Who knows, maybe it'd suit you.

These series should fit your description:

  • Molester Man
  • Solanin
  • Boys on the Run
  • Taiyou no Ie
  • Onani Master Kurosawa
  • Horimiya

I'd suggest Goodnight Punpun as well, even though it's pretty depressing, as it's a rather unique manga that any reader should experience once.

As for a manga database, MangaUpdates is what you're looking for, complete with tags and category recommendations, though its search engine is a bit clunky.
