Never played a persona game but interested in all this hype I'm reading so want to try one out. Is persona 3 portable a good place to start? I have a psp, ps2, and ps4.

For sure^^ It is a very good port of the game and includes a choice of protagonist. P3 Fes is also good on PS2, but if you already have P3P, by all means enjoy^^

P3P has good gameplay but it lacks any presentation and thus the game can look pretty barren. Just watch one gameplay video and you'll see what I mean.

As I said, gameplay-wise, it's improved over the P3 and P3 FES. You can get P3 FES for PS2 if you value presentation, or Persona 4 on PS2 which has the best gameplay out of the three and also looks great.

Something like "Notice: Tonight, I will be visiting the Nippon Budokan."?

So there is going to be an announcement at that live show thing?

Thanks! So I'm ok with skipping out on persona 1 and 2 then? I'm guessing there isn't a continuous storyline.

The strongest links to P1/2 are in P3 and even then they're subtle. You're not missing out by skipping them.

However that being said if you enjoy traditional JRPG dungeon crawling on the PS1 then I'd recommend playing them anyway. If not P1 then P2.

They are indeed stand-alone. You can start wherever you want.

P1 and 2 are actually pretty different from 3 and 4.

BUT, there are versions of P1 and 2 for the PSP, if you ever get interested (they are good versions).

P1 and P2 are both are both available on PSP as well. P2 is a duology so there's a connection in story there.

All in all, there's no story connection from one entry to another. They just share a few terms and the same emphasis on themes. They're in the same world but take place in different times and locations.

You can play P1 and P2 if you want, but a lot of people (including myself) didn't start with those games. There's been a director and lead staff change since P3, so P1 and P2 are a bit different than P3 and P4, but they're still great games (P2 in particular).

Before the stream I thought we would get some substantial chunk of information, but after all that's been showed so far, I'm only expecting another short teaser.

That'd be a shame. I feel they have to show more at this point, if but a segment of in-game scenes. I'm surprised that they haven't had more to show for Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Not even a release window.

I'm expecting the same at this point.

They're not putting an emphasis on information at all.

I have a feeling P4D went into limbo for a while soon after Dingo dropped out. I can only imagine that resources are really stretched over at Atlus, their Persona staff has to be focused heavily on P5 at this point.

I feel like we aren't gonna get anything to do with Gameplay still, probably gonna be a real short teaser.

I expected one new character to be shown in an anime cutscene. I was gonna go with a female character, but now I'm guessing it'll be this phantom character. Maybe reveal the general gist of the story since he seems like the villain.

Wait, what happened to dingo?

Essentially, we don't know. But we do know that, after the game's re-unveiling at TGS 2014, Atlus Japan removed the existence of the first P4D trailer which mentioned an earnest collaboration, removed Dingo's name from the official P4D website, and did not mention Dingo's name in the second trailer for P4D.

Man would I trade Persona Dancing All Night for a HD remaster of Persona 3. I would rather have that than a rhythm game, but oh well.

Fuck please Atlus give us that remaster. Business wise it would be a smart decision since you are making Movies for P3.

I don't know if I come back for the Teddie countdown or the Nippon Budokan Special or if I just wait for the ?????....

I might end up watching everything >.>

It's totally strange because Dingo developed Miku games. I have more faith in them to handle something like this than Atlus.

Nah man, I've had enough of remakes. If they're going to whore out the franchise I'd rather have something new.

You know if it's Persona 4 yeah, but Persona 3 naw. I mean there isn't a definite version for Persona 3 unlike Persona 4.

Plus I can never get enough of Persona 3.
