I find it hard to believe that, re: Rise - Persona 4, unlike Persona 3, leans really hard into the Jung shit to the point where Golden literally includes a whole series of lectures on it. I feel like it's a case where the gameplay and story/themes don't really line up.

I don't think it does lean into Jung shit, lol. The lectures are there for world-building/nods to the previous Persona games and Rise's S.Link is mostly realizing that that aspect is still here and all that. It's one of those things entertainers face, to some degree or so. At least, that's how I viewed it.
