Why can't I remove the Civ BE Demo licence from my account details page? It does nothing when I click on remove =/

This is going to drive my OCD insane >_<

are there any leaks or insider info as to which single-player game(s) valve is currently working on or did they completely shift their focus on mp games?

Do you guys ever experienced that some game at 60 fps seem more fluid that other games also at 60 fps? For example Dark Souls 2 or Valkyria Chronicles give me that impression, and I suppose is due to the fact that the animations and stuff were designed with 30 fps in mind and so they seem "accelerated".
But maybe I'm just crazy!

It is objective.
No, it's not. This is entirely your opinion, here. It's somewhat my opinion, too, but our opinions probably aren't as worthwhile since we don't know everything that's been going on at Valve.

To ignore their biggest property reeks of mismanagement.
I don't even know that HL is their biggest property, anymore. It is in the minds of older PC gamers, but probably not in the total mindshare of everyone who consumes their products. Tough to say.

Are we to believe that no one working for Valve now wants to make Half Life 3? If that's true, hire people that do. You could have a dream team working on HL3 in a heartbeat.
I'm sure there are people that do and I'm sure that there are people that have tried. For whatever reason, it hasn't happened.

They aren't ignoring DOTA, TF2 or CS:GO.

As much as it'd be nice to see a HL3, Valve is working on much more profitable properties now. HL hasn't been Valve biggest property in quite awhile.

Valve might very well be mismanaged, but not making HL3 has nothing to do with it.

HL3 is their only SP game we know they're working on is some capacity. This is from 2013's Jira leak and last year's file list leak.

Valve doesn't care at all on doing HL3, because they won't meet the hype created around this third game, no matter how good it will be.
Also, Steam is a printing-money machine, so why taking out resources to build a game?

Because it will still sell an insane amount of copies, why wasted a decades worth of hype? I'm sure they have a version of HL3 that they're still working on and I don't see them throwing out all that work just because it might not live up to the hype.

Screw Half-Life 3.

Just give me Half-Life 2: Episode 3 please. It can be 4 hours long using the exact same engine as Episode 2 and I will be perfectly happy. Just finish the dangling narrative.

Or at least don't end with major cliffhanger, if it takes a decade for next part.

To assume this is to assume that either the handbook is a lie, or that they have managed to drive off all employees who still want to do traditional development. Neither is a particularly reassuring thought.

But neither of the HLs has been developed with a traditional model. That's not the issue, their "new" focus is. Put new in quotes because they transitioned to online services years ago.

Lots of young gamers don't even know what HL is, and other older gamers have moved on. It would probably sell a lot, but it will never make CoD, Skyrim or GTA numbers. Maybe Far Cry or Borderlands numbers. Maybe.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
No, probably not. But think about the position all the ex-devs are in. If Valve is the "perfect place to work" and you didn't make it there, it implies there's something wrong with you. Thus being a former Valve employee in a way carries a certain amount of taint to it. I think us here in this thread have a unique perspective on all this because we've heard jshackles tales of Valve and how we all think they should hire him, but I'd imagine to most of the pc gaming community not in this thread, a lot of this stuff about Valve is news to them.

Valve stands alone in an industry that's typically known for overworking it's employees and destroying employee's personal lives. Think EA in the late 90s / early 00s. Valve has made their reputation among people in those circles as "the promised land" because employees are free to pursue their own goals and are trusted with making their own decisions on behalf of the company. In reality though, it turns out that this sort of corporate structure almost always inevitably ends up with the problem of "too many cooks in the kitchen". Valve's unofficial answer to employees that aren't fitting in is to "work it out". It's certainly not for everyone.

It's basic human nature that any environment run like this will turn into Lord of the Flies, so I'm never surprised when I see disenfranchised ex-employees online that want to talk about it.

So poking around:

IClientTabletop.CreateGame
m_ClientUserTabletop
IJobTabletopStartGame
IJobTabletopWatchGame

CLIENTTABLETOP_INTERFACE_VERSION001

#Friends_ChallengeSteamTable....Play Steam Table game
#Friends_WatchSteamTable....Watch Steam Table game

CSteamTableChallengeOptions.OpenAddFriendMenu
CSteamTableChallengeOptions::OnTableGameStarted
steamtable/layout/steamtablechallenge
Could Steam Table(top) be the next Big Picture like interface for tabletop board games?

SteamDB already touched upon this before.

Just got a coupon for 75% off "I, Zombie." It's apparently some casual strategy game for two bucks, so if you'd rather have it for 50 cents, just hit me up with a PM and I'll hand it off.

I think you might be surprised. With the advent of Memes and "Half-Life 3 confirmed!" have probably raised some awareness to those who don't know about it to go look it up. Not to mention just.. valve memes in general and g-mod.

Announce HL3. Put the series on sale. Older fans will go back for a refresher and new ones will buy it up to see what the hype is about so they can catch up and be ready for HL3.

I am going to make it through this year if it kills me
Kinda like those companies that say they have unlimited vacation days. You end up working more instead.

I still believe hl3 is nothing more than concept art and maybe some scrapped pieces of assets that became their other releases.

hah, you tried casually to get behind him but it ain't easy like most mobs in dark souls.

ok. here i can clearly see compared to DS LOF is way slower. from the dodges to even the time attack animations last. and as before, quickly rolling to get behind the back looks much harder than in DS.
also the boss is kinda tame in design compared to DS' ones.
visually it looks pretty good.

thanks for posting. was going vanilla for some time now but this really looks nice.

m8 gimme that background!

Hey SteamGAF that are also on my friends list:

I'm trying to figure out ideal settings for broadcasting games, if you see me playing a game feel free to watch so I can test it out.

trying to watch but it won't connect to the broadcast

edit - says you are "currently unable to maintain a stable broadcast connection to Steam."
