Doesn't AStats only track the profiles that were manually accessed through the site? I don't think it auto crawls Steam for every single account. If that's so it should be missing the vast majority of profiles.

why do people always say bastion and transistor are really similar games? i've seen that a lot

i'm playing through bastion right now after playing through transistor the past couple days and can only conclude that those people have never played them even a little bit,the games aren't even remotely similar

They are made by the same developer. They are both considered very stylistic games.

Nuuvem either takes forever to send activation emails, or something went wrong.

I ended up making a new Twitter account, logging in that way, then creating an account.

I realize this is super convoluted, but that process worked for me. Nuuvem wasn't sending an activation email otherwise.

Well... I guess I should at least buy something so I don't feel like I'm missing out.

I've wanted to get back into puzzle games for a bit. Impressions seem to be positive, and from what I understand the entire thing can be solved without any guesswork, just lots and lots of careful thinking. I'll hope for the best.

It does irritate me slightly that Infinite gets alphabetically sorted before Plus even though I should play them the other way around (both after the original, of course).

I found it, it was in the spam folder. Now I just need to figure out what means what in the checkout window since it won't translate. What do I put under CPF and CEP?

but they go about it in very different ways and the gameplay itself is radically different

I think a lot of people who liked Bastion were hoping Transistor would be similar. But the reason for the comparison is because they come from the same developer, nothing more. Transistor was Supergiant's followup to Bastion.

Made some Lords of the Fallen webms... they're processing and I'll post them in a bit... but I'm wondering what the hell is up with the fuchsia type color patterning on the lower edge... so strange.

Here's the short one where I was amused by the sort of required backstab when I met this enemy type:
http://robotbrush.com/corrosivefros....01.2015 - 23.59.20.51.DVR.mp4.converted.webm

Hrrrm... the fuchsia artifacting didn't transfer to that webm... strange.

Same developer... similar narrative gimmick (though different enough), unique art styles, both are supposed to be action RPGs (though I think Transistor doesn't function well as one), emphasis on music as part of the narrative, etc.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
With each new picture you look more and more like Momoa as Drogo.

I'll take that as a compliment. :)

I've finally made it to the last chapter of Final Fantasy XIII after 30 hours. From what I can gather, there are about 10-15 hours left though I'll likely continue playing after finishing the main questline to button up all of the side-quest content. Then I'm looking forward to moving into XIII-2, which I hear is even better.

transistor didn't really feel like it was meant to be an action rpg at all to me

it plays much closer to a rtwp type of system(although obviously it's not quite that either)

in any case i'm just a little confused because I saw a lot of comments in the past saying they were practically identical or whatever and that's actually one of the reasons i'm just getting around to playing them now(although I guess a bigger reason would be I just don't play all that many games in general)

I may not be remembering correctly, but the last chapter isn't overly long.

are these worth picking up? someone said minesweeper ish? Like, figuring out where to click based on math/logic?

Yeah, I'd almost call it a rtwp SRPG, though I finished it (both times) using primarily the pause function to set up all my actions and would have been completely happy had it been entirely turn based.

It reminds me of an ancient web game at times (can't think of the name, I think it was developed by disney of all people and then whatever site it was on died and it's sort of 'lost') where you could similarly add/combine subroutines to create your combat style.

I never saw anyone call it 'practically identical'... I think you may have just accidentally/subconsciously read into all the people bringing it up constantly too much, an easy thing to do if you didn't realize it was just a followup. Hear it compared to 'bastion' enough times and it's easy to understand why you'd think they were similar, even though that wasn't actually why bastion was brought up all the time.

Though I already PM'ed him about it, I just wanted to poke my head in for a sec to thank Tizoc for Freedom Planet, which I won in his (massive!) giveaway. I'd hoped the game would be good, and so far it's even better than I was expecting. Visuals, soundtrack, voice acting, gameplay - it looks and feels almost like a lost Sega CD platformer, and I mean that in the best way possible. Definitely a game to check out if you have even the remotest interest in that sort of thing.

First day of the year and I finished both Valkyria Chronicles and Never Alone. Maybe this is the year that I'll be able to finish all my backlog  Only ~550ish games to go!

Question for anyone that's familiar with the BIT.TRIP Collection (or the games in general). There was a Bit.Trip Complete release on the Wii a few years back with all the games, it was advertised to have 20 new challenge levels for each game. Were these ever included in or added to the Steam releases of the games?

Never caught feels over To The Moon, nearly caught them when
they finally suceeded and you just watched his life being rewritten
but outside of that it was just another love story.

Looking through the Steam Hidden Deals thread and nothing really jumping out at me. Guess I'll save the rest of my wallet money for the Summer sale.
