Quantum Break new gameplay video from Xbox Japan

I completely forgot about this game...man, despite me being more toward PS4 than Xbone for my future purchases, I admit that the amount and quality (to me, of course) of Xbone esclusive games is really interesting.

Not really new gameplay, AFAIR. At Gamescom they showed this behind doors and the gameplay even went further till the scene from the initial trailer where the ship crashed into the bridge. Don't know if it was already in gameplay trailers, though.

It's certainly a new video, but it's not new footage. I believe everything in that video is what they shown before to the public.

Anyone know how the world logic behind this is supposed to work?

So the player can walk through frozen in time areas cause he has "the chosen one" gift?
And then the boss guys wear some tech device that allows them to walk around during those events?
Then how does the good guy make bullets fly from normal rifles? Wouldn't all that also be frozen? Or does he handguide each one of them?

I think the intro to this scene wasn't in the earlier footage, maybe I'm wrong. Looking nice.

AFAIK, three of the main characters were at the epicenter of a failed time travel experiment so it's The Hulk or The Flash kind of thing I suppose. As for the bullets, I'd say it's just a case of "if he touches an object, it inherits his properties" :) I suppose it could somehow be explained as Jack "throws" time bubbles on enemies, objects or small areas, so maybe he creates localized fields where time flows normally for the weapon and bullets etc.

Gameplay looks pretty good but can anyone tell me what that outline around the area is called? It's a black outline every time the player moves the camera. It's annoying me so much lol

The amount of time I see this comment, or similar comments, in xbox one threads...
I just bought the console for the exclusives and there are definitely some nice ones coming up soon.

Do you guys think that last gen machines could use this time-stopping mechannichs?

So far my major complain with next-gen is that devs don't innovate on the gameplay aspect. Is like if they're just using new machines for prettier graphics.

Have they toned sown the planks flying up when doing the dash already. On the gamescom demo they moved way more then that or am I just remembering things wrong. Was really impressive now can hardly notice it.

Edit: just watched gamescom again. It's just me. Dont fly up like I remembered them doing.

Anyone not impressed with the visuals here needs an eye test.

This is what next gen is when you target next gen from scratch.

Looks stunning - wish it was on PS4 as well as don't have an XBox.

This game looks so cool. My only worry is how that TV show stuff is going to be integrated. It could really hurt the game of it's not handled well. Kinda hoping they ditch it, or maybe release it as a standalone thing before the game hits, etc.

I don't get why this game is ignored most of the time when people talk about graphics and visual work, this new video with the initial cutscene in real-time and the transition to the gameplay part is absolutely top notch.

Blinx did similar time power stuff on OG Xbox.

This looks really good. Have they announced a release window yet?

I agree. I'm really interested in this game except for the TV show stuff, which really makes me worry. In the first reveal the TV show stuff looked really bad. B-actors with cringey line delivery. It looks jarring when you compare it to the actual game/gameplay. You have a great looking game with some cool looking mechanics and third person action and a badly acted TV drama inbetween.

Graphically it looks great, gameplay and story are pretty much guaranteed to be solid with Remedy. The only thing I'm not convinced with so far is the time powers. It's never easy to properly judge these games though when the walkthrough is played on easy/god mode.

Agh! PS4 is going to likely be JRPG central this gen, like Playstation is usually, so I'm likely to go with PS4, but I need D4 and this looks awesome (I loooved Alan Wake)!

You can ignore or skip the TV portion. It will enhance the overall experience but you can enjoy the game despite it. They have said this several times in interviews.

Some textures do not look very good, everything else looks great. Don't like one button "cinematic beat down", looks overpowered. I hope it will be harder to perform on higher difficulty settings.

Tell me about it, my eyes bulged when the transition happened.

I like how he moves objects out of the way in the time pause segments. This reminded me of the scene with Quicksilver in the latest X-men movie. I wonder if there will be enviornmental puzzles where you have to move objects into different positions for a strategic advantage. Dishonored had a bit of this, but seems like would be cool with the mechanics displayed in QB.
