So you basically are gonna want a Global Smash Power of about 3 million right now, otherwise you're bad and you should feel awful about it.

Thanks Sakurai, now I don't have to see all the people better than me on the leaderboard. I can just know it's most everyone.

That assumes everyone who bought the game went online though :P

also I see we're already on the title suggestion for the next OT phase

Apparently the only Streetpass challenges you can't get via practice are the "get x hits" since "hit" refers to getting x people to streetpass you, not hits in the game itself.

So if you don't want to use a hammer, just grind it out in practice mode.

Been playing a lot of online the past few days, but now I'm getting back to the challenges. Went for the one where you have to clear 10-Man Smash within 20 seconds, but I kept landing at 21. Then I finally did it in 17 with Zero Suit Samus. Feels good man.

On a side note, has anyone gotten a Global Smash Power of over 1 million yet?

My highest is 1.8 million with samus in all star mode.

higher is better, I think; but I also don't get how exactly it's calculated

It's literally "the number of people you're better than." Counting only people who have actually made an attempt at the mode, and connected to the internet.

Interesting, I seem to be unable to do any aerial normals with a bomb loaded. It just throws the bomb. I did notice that cancelling an aerial normal into pulling out the bomb makes Link get to the ground very quickly, and it also looks like there's less lag on recovery.

Whoops, looks like I was just fast falling.

I want to play this game more but my hands always get cramped and my wrists hurt. This will be fun to take along on trips but I need the Wii U version ASAP.

Wish I could help but I have barely touched anything concerning Mii's or custom move sets.

It's cool. There is just so much to look at with the Mii's, it's sad that they are largely overlooked. Either due to people finding the Mii's to be annoying/stupid, or that they are not even available for the "For Fun" online mode.

True. And as Tathanen mentioned above, also only people who have tried the mode in question.

I bet there's somebody out there who got a '1' in something and assumes it's because they're the best at it. Poor soul.

You can beat Little Mac players by baiting them to the other edge. Once they have figured that out... Then what....
You wait.*

Wait some more.

Wait.

Wait......

Did no one approach yet?

Time out.

SUDDEN DEATH

*throw some frustration with 3DS controls in that

lol

BONUS: How to handle Little Mac.

*Wait can be substituted with run away, especially if the character has projectiles. This is what 1v1's in this game currently devolve into IMO.

I think it's the latter. That seems to be the big contingent when people discuss Miis.

I imagine many see them as some kind of lesser character because of that, I've even seen it disputed if they even count in the character count for the game (which obviously they do)

It's probably also because Miis don't really have any character built into them. Mario is Mario and Link is Link, but a Mii is you. And I think maybe it's hard to like a character that's basically just you with ninja close on and DBZ style skills.

They really need to patch in the ability to use Miis with anyone online. I'm pretty confident Smash 5 will allow it... but they need to figure out something to do for this game so the characters aren't entirely forgotten. This is three unique characters that people don't even consider characters

Lol
I used mega man last night against a Mac and just kept throwing him off and using metal blades or charged shot once off stage.

Reasons why Wii U > 3DS:

- No "beat Smash Run with all characters" challenge

Can't wait for the "beat Tower of Smash with all characters" challenge

playing with DDD against a fast player who knows what's up is a fucking nightmare

Sheik juggling me like a fucking bowling pin

even got teabagged by a ROB

brb gonna commit sudoku

Super Smash Bros 3DS OT3: I went to Smash Bros and everything was Little Mac

hey, they say ignorance is bliss

lmao

These thread title suggestions remind me of the old "Hi, I'm a PC." "And I'm a Mac!" commercials.

Want a little whine with your Mac and cheese?

...I'll be on my way

Hard to say as the Mii fighters aren't exactly that great.

I don't know. When I was playing a local match against this one guy who was creaming everyone (his main was Lucario), I had played as the Brawler Mii, and I was able to win that tournament. Depending on what combination of skills, cards, etc., the Mii Fighters can stand up pretty high among the best.

At least, I think so.

I think it's the latter. That seems to be the big contingent when people discuss Miis.

I imagine many see them as some kind of lesser character because of that, I've even seen it disputed if they even count in the character count for the game (which obviously they do).

All the above are very good points, and I also agree that Nintendo needs to patch in the ability to play as the Mii Fighters in the online mode.

After watching Nairo (who's probably the best competitive Robin main atm?) whip out Bronze Sword follow-ups when I assume he was trying to go for a Levin Sword aerial instead makes me feel weirdly better about all those times I've fucked up whipping out the Levin Sword, too.

(not to say I don't still wanna make my success on that input as close to perfect as possible)

Anyone who refuses to tip the scales with me is an enemy of mine.
It sure lit a fire under me to take him down, haha.

Yes, someone teabagged me once after taking a stock. Then I won and left the room.
Teabagging seems like a futile exercise when there's not even anything to do it to. That seems pretty dumb on their part!

The thing that probably annoys me the most is just when someone counterpicks your character and colour on you, honestly. It's like... well, I'm not entirely sure what they're trying to say specifically, but it makes me an 'anything you can do, I can do better' vibe. Counterpick me with my own character all you want, I welcome it, but lay off my palette. :lol
