Greninjas side b needs to be patched. Every time I presd up b he always does the side b instead unless I just press straight up, but if I do that I cant do an angled hydro pump

In Classic mode you have that reel before each match that has your reward. Red wrenches are customization items including custom moves. You hit the home button and it pauses the game on that frame, so you can cheese it and pause it until you get a red wrench reward. Just hold A when you return to the game and it will give you that reward.

Awesome, thanks.

Who's everyone's top 5 fighters?

Mine:

-Greninja
-Shiek
-Villager
-Robin
-Palutena

Villager by far has the best KD and win ratio

Mine are:

-Robin
-Zero Suit Samus
-Mario
-Ness
-Lucina

Robin was one of my most anticipated characters to use, and I absolutely love the way he plays. Think he's going to be my new main.

Sadly, I can't say the same for my other two most anticipated, Little Mac and Shulk. They just don't fit my playstyle at all.

I've about played with the whole roster right now, and the only characters I'm "really not feeling it!" with are Luigi, Palutena, Samus, and Meta Knight.

On the other hand, like all the Brawl dudes I totally misunderstood in Brawl I'm suddenly really liking like Olimar and R.O.B. I imagine if Wolf was back, maybe I would've had fun with him too...

Characters I've been using:
- Mario (only 5 losses out of the 52 online battles)
- Mega Man (I have a 3:1 win/loss ratio against people on GAF, so I think I'm doing something right with him lol)
- Jigglypuff
- Sheik

I used Dr. Mario a few times as well, but I feel Mario is better. Mario's d-air tornado is much more useful than Dr. Mario's drill kick and d-special tornado.

I also used Lucina a bit and shield breaker is really something else. Though I'm gonna have to not be greedy with it.

I also used Yoshi a bit and he feels nice. Gonna need to play him more.

So far I have a positive record for online battles with the characters I used online against other GAF members.

I want to try every character out, so it will take me a while.

Man, the 30fps aspects of this game

They don't affect gameplay, really, but they are SO ugly. And it's clear they just removed every other frame from the Wii U version so everyone looks like they're going in slow motion.

People who say they can't tell the difference between 60 and 30 fps should try playing this game.

I die a little inside when 30fps nintendog hogs up the screen.

Yes, using counter the entire match is the only option.
Counter involves punching, though.

I really do hope you understood I was joking

Prior to this game, I didn't know you could have different elements running at different framerates in the same game. Are there any other notable examples of this in other games?

So, I just got the game and tried a little bit of for glory with Shulk. What's the consensus on him ? From what I've seen he has some difficulty dealing significant damages without his buster/smash buffs and his aerial recovery is really bad, am I missing something there? I never tried to pursue anyone after launching them, too afraid of messing up
The lack of diagonal reach on his smashes is a pain in the ass too

When chasing people offstage, it's not a bad idea to throw on the Jump Art, as that makes recovery a heck of a lot easier. Even without it, though, Air Slash gives you a good amount of vertical distance, and the two slashes Shulk does are effective at stopping edgeguarding. Also, when chasing offstage, remember that Shulk's forward and neutral airs cover a lot of space, so you don't have to get right up next to your opponent to land a hit. That means you can stay a lot closer to the stage when you venture out there.

Who's everyone's top 5 fighters?

I've been mainly using Wii Fit Trainer. I've been trying other characters, but they're not as fun for me so far. I haven't tried everyone yet though. I was looking forward to try Samus, Ganondorf and WFT before the game came out, but they just didn't feel good at all to play for me besides Wii Fit Trainer.

Alright, I'm back for a bit. Anyone interested in 1v1?

Good games! Sorry, I had to bail a little early. An irl friend of mine wants to play too, so I'm gonna try to also squeeze that in before bed.

Mega Man's grab is better than I gave it credit for. Well that, and I think you're just really aware of the opportunities.
