Am I a bad person for using Bowser's Side-B off the side of the stage online, or is this viewed as a legitimate strategy competitively?

Everything is a legitimate strategy competitively.

Unless you, like, punch you opponent in real life.

Side B away.

I can't wait to play some of you guys with my Meta Knight. Tornado is still in the game, friends :)

Ah, but spamming is in the eye of the beholder. I tend to use Duck Hunt's side B and down B a lot as I find them to be great combo openers. Would you consider that to be spamming?
I really do not see it bad in Smash. Take Soul Calibur 2 for example. You can spam up Y over and over with Nightmare to win. That is cheap to me.

Was getting my ass handed to me by a Bowser online, but he was too aggressive and then this happened

GGs Beats! As before, great WFT you've got on your hands.

Good games! Shiek's down air doesn't seem like a safe attack to use when I'm on the ground since I can hit you once you land or shield and punish the attack. Also, try not to be too predictable with your Smash attacks on the ground! : p

I'm down to 1v1 a bit 0619-4285-0885

Yea but it's all speculation based on a few tournament results. People are still learning new techinques and once customs become allowed who knows what will happen.

If you're still available.

Dude, my biggest failure as a player is overuse of smash attacks. I was so unaware of the deeper mechanics of Smash until a few years ago that I never even used tilts; I thought they were just universally shitty, weak attacks that had no usage. Obviously, that's not true, but the unfortunate results of years of just mashing away smash attacks has been a tendency to over rely on them. I'm trying to break it, but it's proving to be difficult. Doesn't help I find tilts extremely difficult to pull of quickly on the 3DS.

Thanks for the advice! Hopefully next time we fight my Sheik will be a little more unpredictable.

Finally, after 14 matches, won my first 1v1 For Glory...using fucking' Alph. Beat a Ness, although, he seemed a bit off near the end, so I wonder if there was connection issues. I never really got Olimar in Brawl, but now with less Pikmin to worry about, he really clicked with me.

Also fought an annoying Samus. All she did was dodge, shoot missiles, charge, shoot missiles, charge, ugh, I hated it.

And I won a 2v2 For Glory Match, R.O.B. (another character I disliked in Brawl, like here) and ZSS vs. Kirby and Pac-Man. Got to Sudden Death, but R.O.B.'s spin totally broke through Pac-Man's key attempt.

I have a 13.3 win rate now. :(

The other day a Villager tried to use the Tree on me, and I was Shulk. Seriously, that's so easy to counter.

Which stat should I be looking at for the 'Play for 10 collective hours. (Total gameplay x participants)' challenge panel?

My records read as:

Time powered on: 24:16
Play Time: 10:08
Smash Play Time: 3:17
Solo Play Time: 10:00
Group Play Time: 0:08

I thought it would be one of the italicised ones but apparently not as it hasn't popped...

It's Smash play time. There's also a challenge for 50 hours of it as well.

Local play lag looking almost as bad as online matches at Xanadu. Some people even said they didn't want to play anymore apparently. Pretty sad.

As much as I love Smash 3DS, the amount of reports of local play lag is baffling. If they aren't able to fix this, that's a pretty huge deal.

The first day it was out I was playing with my friends and it was literally an unplayable slideshow. Not sure if the patch had something to do with it since I found out one of them didn't have it later, but it was crazy.

From what I saw so far, looking worse than online play usually is for me. V.V

Rip large scale 3DS tournaments.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I can't believe Nintendo let this through. It really could've and should've been better than this. :/

Dammit, I haven't even gotten the chance to do local yet. Was hoping it was significantly better than online :/

The WiiU version seems so far away!

Something must be affecting those local plays with lag, I mean, the only times I've played local were with the demo, but never have any kind of lag, it's weird, there must be something.

Online play is really smooth for me in general so it's kinda weird seeing the local play lag in the stream

Nintendo have do something about this

For what it's worth, I played local all day Friday and had little to no lag issue. Most of the time it was 3 person FFA, some 4, some 1v1. At worst it's inconsistent or susceptible to interference when many 3DSes are together.

It could be interference at the venue. I've heard of people having issues with local play but this is the first time I've actually seen it played.

I started half-maining bowser since For Glory has no customs and I love doing this tactic.

We're awful human beings

We need that 3DS Link Cable adapter. : p

Yeah no problem, I have trouble doing tilts in the heat of the moment as well and sometimes end up doing Smash attacks on the 3DS.

It's weird, when i was in line to buy the smash game last friday, there were like 80 guys in line, and I bet 40, or more, had their 3ds with them, and at least there were 20 people playing (me being one them) and, at least, the match I played were lagless 100%.

Maybe Internet or some other kind of wireless interference?.

Same here, so hard to pull of tillts :(, I wish I could cuztomise controls even more, I mean, tap + r + a to do a smash or something, so I could tap + a for tilts.
