Anyone want to play (any mode, 1v1 or ffa)? 4811-7262-6117. I'm on eastern US.

I think the game sends data to the servers anyway for anti-cheat reasons (hence the bug fixed in the patch, where Peaches could get banned for having an "item" too early).
 
My god Bowser is absolutely killing Villager in the current conquest match up! It makes sense though. Bowser is a beast while Villager is a tricky fighter who requires skill and timing.

I thought about that, but wondered if it only happened at the end of matches. If a server is involved that could make lag worse.

Also I just click Conquest mode, and now I'm disappointed. I thought it meant you could choose to do matches with ONLY the current characters, so you would get to play a bunch of Villager vs. Bowser games, but it turns out you have to do For Glory matches (or does For Fun count too) and just try to win with the character?
 
Finally unlocked Bowser Jr. as my last character. Not really feeling him at all. I need to play with him a bit more but right now he's on the lower end of my favorite newcomers.
 
So after playing it a few more times, Smash Run isn't as bad as I initially thought. It's more fun than Classic mode for running through and picking up trophies and custom moves and stuff. And you don't really have to care about the match at the end, because you keep the stuff you pick up regardless.

Some fighters are pretty bad at it, though. Poor Little Mac, trying to fight all those flying enemies.
 
Single greatest strategy ever for Smash Run:

- Play Lucario
- Go about business as usual
- Get above 100% damage and hold out like a boss until you get swarmed with heavy armor enemies
- Activate
X-Factor
Devil's Pact (instantly sets you at 300% damage but with full stats in everything)
- Devil's Pact also activates Lucario's Aura lv. 3

Smash Run is unbalanced and pointless, which is too bad because it's otherwise fun.

There's no payoff though. I mean, why should I care about the battle at the end if I get to keep all the stuff I collected anyways?

I love how all his moves are useful, was playing with some friends and manage to beat him with the brawler all the time, too damn fun, hopefully they patch them in, even if just using the generic mii's I wont mind.

If MyCell was here, those were some awesome games vs your megaman in for glory :)

Megaman is so underrated at the moment that it's not even funny. He is so much stronger than people realise and I think he will end up a minimum of mid tier in the end. His mid range zoning is so powerful.
 
I've got 100 custom moves so far and I've only completed Classic with 6 characters. and Smash Run with 10-15 characters. The rest has been through Trophy Rush, Home Run Contest, Target Smash, and All-Star. Seems like I'm in good standing with the way things are going in terms of the amount of time it will take me and how grind-y it will feel.

I wish I could live in your world where every single thing is amazing. Sadly, I find Smash Run to be the absolute worst part of the game. It's just not fun at all.

Ah no, it's good practice. I need it. I definitely had the toughest time against your Mario, those air combos were pretty killer.

The thing about Smash Run is that it's like a better version of the SSE's main game play just because it's more lightweight/doesn't require as much of an investment, plays up the series' traditional Randumbness™ in a fun way and when you get a good groove on , it's way more satisfying to run through than another go through classic or all star mode. The biggest issues it has however are that it's not online and cooperative/competitive, the loot drops are so wildly variable that it feels like you see more of other people's customs or ten of the one's you've unlocked already before making any progress, and Ornes, as always, are made of the finest bullshit. :lol
