Just played a few rounds with EmCee. People who know how to play Mac are fucking terrifying. Every punch seems like a game-ender.

Also I finally realised the default Hydrant doesn't meteor or spike. Booooo. Still got some rad kills with it though.

Hey, looking for some people to play with me who are a 6 - 8 on the skill scale. (10 being a pro, 1 being a noob). Down for any mode.

FC: 4425-1563-4550

Was doing all stars, where I end up at Wily castle and yellow devil came out. Eventually he did his b-bomb like attack, I got caught in it, then the game crashed lol. Damn it yellow devil!

Do you only use Little Mac?

I use mostly him online, but not always, no. I actually had more trouble while using Lucina (who I had barely touched before that match, admittedly)

Anyway, I'm curious to see how much the established ideas about certain characters will change once the game can be played on machines with real sticks, and second sticks at that.

For sure, the perception of characters should change pretty significantly once we get console controllers involved.

ahahaha wow that's pretty crazy

Yeah. Although I think there's gonna be a pattern emerging in these results, where the more technical characters are probably going to lose out just on the merits of their tougher-to-grasp playstyles. Megaman is harder to do well with than Mario, and that showed in the end.

I have some questions:

1) Is there any way to see who you have come first with in Smash Run? The character select shows a score whether you won or not.

2) Can you beat Streetsmash challenges in practice? Or do they need to be done with a real streetpass?

3) Do online matches count towards play for 10 collective hours challenge? What does "collective hour" mean?

4) What is the quickest way to get custom moves? how many are there?

Any help would be appreciated!

Yep, Greninja is definately my main. I have a blast to play him and I think he's a really good character.

My instinct to play him first was right, once again!

It's a good problem to have I guess, but man it feels like this game has almost too many characters. There are soooo many characters to play and try to get a feel of.

Off the top of my head, characters I've played and have liked a good amount so far:

Samus
Captain Falcon
Marth
Lucina
Diddy
Luigi
Bowser
Donkey Kong
Dr. Mario
Greninja
Lucario
King Dedede

That's like a dozen characters that I enjoy playing as, and it will probably grow as I get more time with others.

Greninja and Rosalina are the two newcomers I didn't know I wanted until they happened at this point. Playing Greninja reminded me of the first time I played Marth in Melee in that everything just felt right immediately upon the match/training mode starting up.

@MetalGear: That is really true for me too.

Luigi
Rosalina
Bowser
Yoshi (thanks Spin)
Sheik
Samus
Zero Suit Samus
Pit
Palutena

Lucario
Greninja
King Dedede
Marth
Robin
Fox
Falco

Bolded are the characters I either have previous history with or liked enough to try and put some work in with from the moment I first played them. When am I ever going to have the time to learn these guys to a decent degree? :lol

Well just tried out my connection, feels SO much better, still a bit of lag every now and then, but now my matches feel better than Brawl

I felt like that with Pac-Man. Never played him before, when I suddenly select him when playing for glory 1vs1: "Well, let's pick Pac-Man just for fu....oh wait, HOLY SHIT, HE'S AWESOME!!!"

Getting around to some other characters that I didn't mess with much over the weekend.

Shulk is one of those characters I'll definitely put more time into when the Wii U version comes out.

Not that I support Dark Pit, as I don't really care either way, But why is Dark Pit getting so much flak but Dr. Mario, a character who literally is the same damn character as someone else on the roster personality and all okay?

He has a different moveset and plays like Melee Mario.

Dr. Mario has already been through his hazing ritual in Melee.

The answer that immediately comes to mind is Dr. Mario has Mario's old Tornado down special and drill kick down air. Honestly though, Mario really should have gotten both, especially since the tornado makes more sense now in a post Galaxy world.

Melee nostalgia probably has a factor in it.

Doctor Mario is at least more visually interesting than Dark Pit. Dark Pit is a Pit recolor. Besides, Dark Pit barely has any moveset properties changes in relation to Pit (there's a Smashboards thread discussing it).

Because Dr. Mario reps a separate series I guess.

Dr. Mario doesn't have the exact same normals and he comes from a widely recognized series that he represents alone.

Think more Custom Moves will ever be DLC/an update?
Only 2 alternates is really restrictive for some characters, and other characters have some absolutely worthless Customs. (Melee Charge Beam for Samus.)

I really, really want to play with you guys but I've found the input lag too annoying (nowhere near as bad as Brawl though) everytime I play online and no amount of fucking around with my router seems to have fixed that.
