Has anyone managed to KO 4 enemies in Cruel multi man Melee?
Did it on my first try with Little Mac. Counter to win. They attack relentlessly. How careless. I mean as soon as Mac is off the stage there, he's gone, but he can take 4 guys with him if he counters right.

Also, I think I'll be adding Ness to my active roster. Shamrock7r's giant Ness post got me curious, and yeah. I can work with this. Gonna practice a bit more and try him against the living.

Sonic was my favorite character in Brawl. But he was terribad.

He's much improved in this game, from my experience with him so far. Makes me happy!

ah so spam counter to win is the way to go there huh

Dat lack of L-Cancel. I also find it difficult to fast fall when doing aerials without the c stick.
I have trouble switching from fast fall to up air in time. Aerials also stop your fast fall, which is weird. But most of the time that's fine. Or you can just fast fall twice.

Annnnd with Sonic Classic mode done, I have officially beaten Classic mode with everyone at least once! :D

Also... only unlocked 150 custom special moves while doing that. Jesus christ this is going to take foreverrrr.

Doesn't seem like the KO punch times out.

Btw, someone mentioned here that Dark Pit's forward throw can kill but Pit's can't. I just tested it out on Mario near the ledge of Final Destination. It didn't kill unti 160%. Each throw dealt 10% damage.

Then I tried with Pit. Killed at 160% as well. Tried 150%. Didn't kill. Also dealt 10% damage.
The knockback trajectory was the same.
Both Pits were at 100% btw. (Rage and all)

...I'm gonna check out if they actually do have different moves aside from side b and neutral B. I don't think even Doc has a move that functions exactly the same as Mario.

I can't count how many times I've lost a stock because it interpreted my Up+B as a Side+B and vice versa.

I can't even use Jigglypuff's pound, if there is any amount of input lag it interprets as a rest.

Out of the 5 recent matches I had all of them had minor to terrible input lag.

I sure hope Nintendo is working on the Wii U's netcode.

And keep in mind the first half is the easy half!

....the grind is real

If this game has a message system like PSN and Xbox Live, how many angry messages would you guys received? I think I would have received a lot from little Mac players considering everyone is playing him and he so easy to kick off stage and keep him there.

Nice man. If you ever want to play my ness let me know.

It seems to me that the core strategy to using shulk is to avoid smash attacks. I won a few 1 vs 1 matches simply with his faster tilts, grabs, and finally finishing with an unsuspecting dsmash.

People complained so much about Rosalina/ZSS online in the JP version, I'm yet to run into either online, and I played almost 100 for glory matches.

Little Mac on the other hand, goddamn...it seems like every 5 games, 1 is against a little mac. And I always end up wrecking him lol. As Ganondorf, in special, is incredibly satisfying: run towards them, as if I'm about to do a dash attack, they counter, I side+B instead, following up with down tilt. Rinse repeat until KO.

I think your Ness would utterly destroy mine at the moment. I'm at the "Hey, this looks neat!" stage of the character. Recovering on a Circle Pad is not as awful as I feared. PK Thunder is actually quite maneuverable.

I should take him online soon, though. I mean, it's not like taking Ness into For Glory is going to make my win record much worse than it is, anyway.

Wow, what the fuck. Was just about to play online with my girlfriend and she got some kind of time-out timer saying she has to wait 10 minutes? What's up with that?

For sure, love your yoshi, I'm conflicted as I want to main other people but not sure who
Dude, I only discovered Yoshi this morning, but he is amazing in this game. I played him in Brawl, but here he's just a dream to control. And, as a Mario main, he's a natural extension of that play style, with his amazing air game.

I'm also having trouble trying to pin down who to get good with. Right now, for sure Mario, Yoshi, and Greninja, but there are so many great characters. I eventually want to get good with a lot, but starting off I want to try and limit it a bit.

She probably left a match or something. That's the standard punishment for abandoning.

What were your mains in the previous smash games and Smash 3DS?

64: Captain Falcon
Melee: Marth and Mewtwo
Brawl: Marth and Toon Link
Project M: Marth
Smash 3DS: Dark Pit and Zero Suit Samus

It's a good punishment. Rage quitters need to take a moment to calm the fuck down.

What were your mains in the previous smash games and Smash 3DS?
64: Pikachu
Melee: Pikachu
Brawl: Pikachu
Smash 3DS: NERFED! Switching to Dark Pit probably.

Don't know for Wii U because the better controller will probably open up some characters.

Has anyone managed to KO 4 enemies in Cruel multi man Melee?

I did co-op and got 7 :D

Cheesed it with Jigglypuff sing into fully charged Bowser Jr forward smashes. Herd them into a group with Jr, have Jigg drop into the crowd and sleep them, and then fully charge Jr's forward smash. About 3 times will clear a wave. We managed to get in 2 waves before they clobbered us during the herding process.

Also co-op unlocked the achievements for cuel

I've never thought of dittos as being indicative of who is better with a character, just who is better at that matchup. I'd prob go some other characters against your ness to really see how it's doing.

64: Kirby
Melee: Sheik (Kirby got hit with the nerf bat some hard in that game)
Brawl: Wolf (No clue if Sheik was nerfed, or whether or not I just couldn't handle her in the new engine, but I sucked with her)
3DS & Wii U: Duck Hunt (Wolf ;_;)

Basically unless Wario isn't fun anymore (see PM Wario) I don't think I'll stop using him. He fits my playstyle really well.

They nailed the gameplay, but the roster completely missed the mark (IMHO) in terms of newcomers and downgrading/axing old characters.

What are you talking about? The roster is great. One of the biggest complaints the roster from previous games had was the lack of female characters. This game added:

(Female) Robin
(Female) Villager
(Female) Wii Fit Trainer
Rosalina
Wendy Koopa
Lucina
Palutena

Not to mention, Pac Man and Mega Man are great additions to represent Nintendo's 3rd party relationships, and the other New comers are all wonderfully concieved, particularly Duck Hunt. The only misstep I'd say is Dark Pit, but he was one of the most requested characters. Do I miss Lucas (my main from Brawl (mother 3 is one of my favorite games)) and Snake? Yes. But to say the roster missed the mark is factually incorrect.

Brawl: Ike
Smash 3DS: no idea

I really miss Melee Falco, there's no character quite like him. Perfect weight and fall speed.

I'm still working through the characters in Smash 4. Definitely will be sticking with Pac-Man. It's too early to say who I'll be maining forever, though.

Goddamn I hate the lag in online matches. Throws off my inputs so much.

Also, I fucking hate Pacman/DHD players that just sit on one side and spam projectiles, and then roll away to the other side of the stage if you're somehow able to approach them. FUCK YOU ASSHOLES.
