I actually agree. I'm apparently one of the few people who actually enjoyed SSE.

I wish there was a scaled down version of SSE. No crazy expensive cutscenes, just a bunch of levels. Basically something between Melee's Adventure mode and Brawl's SSE. It would've been something more to do in the single player game besides just playing Classic mode over and over.

I wouldn't want SSE to return, but back in the Melee days I always dreamed of each character (or series, more realistically) having their own Adventure mode with enemies and locations unique to their franchise. It'd have to be shorter than Melee's adventure mode, but considering everything is shorter in this game that's not really an issue.

So one, you can tell I don't play Pikachu

Two, I totally had the type matchup

Three, couple more and then I'm gonna go see this cute girl down at the donut shop

Trying to beat Master Core at Level 9 with ZSS is harder than I expected it to be. :( Oh well...
My GSP dropped from like 1,600,000 to almost half that. Whoops.

Can someone explain why the fuck other peoples' attacks get priority over mine?! This is so fucking frustrating! Ugh...

Because attack priority IS a thing. Unfortunately most of us aren't hardcore enough to go reading up priority charts, so it's just a frustrating trial-and-error every match. Basically just have to figure out which of your moves comes out the fastest and use that when being pressured down.

Edit: Woooow, old post. I'm more tired than I thought lol.

This isn't Brawl any more, no type advantages here :P

inb4 "but Pikachu was never part of the system in Brawl anyway"

I dont think i am good at all xD I am being bipolar with what char i wanna use consistently
ヽ(;゚д゚)ノ

I'm stickin with some old standbys, but there's so many it's hard to choose for me too. I love Falco and the way he plays in this, but I can't tell if he's actually good or not. And I'm not really that comfortable with the newcomers yet.

Anyway yeh it's almost weird how much time I'm putting into this version, but knowing that the Wii U version's really gonna take it over for me. I thought Smash Run would be something that kept pulling me back, but unless it's a lot more fun with more people I doubt that. It'll still be useful and fun to have with me on the go though, especially at conventions and such.

I don't think there's a way to make SSE that makes everyone happy.

Bombcast this past week went on for a while about how the concept needed to be expanded with more story and dialogue. They wanted interaction between Link and Mario and how weird it is that they're teaming up.

I think that would be fucking stupid.

I didn't really dislike the way SSE played, but I'd probably never pay money for a game that played like that. That's the problem, though. The way you make SSE good is by having the resources to make it of standalone quality while still sitting next to all the game's normal content. At some point that becomes kind of madness.

Yeah, I'd rather see someone else develop a "Smash Platformer" rather than squeeze it in as an extra mode.

I remember I had an idea for one, this was back in 2011...Nintendo Land ended up actually capturing one basic idea, which was that the graphic style was "toy-esque". Otherwise it was basically like Kirby Super Star, but with the Main 8 of Smash. Well, actually I had Yoshi replaced with Pit (which also came true sort of...), and they went up against the Bad Guy Team of Wolf, Medusa, DeDeDe (secretly possessed by Hades), Mewtwo, Ganondorf, Ridley, K. Rool, and Bowser., You know, Justice Friends-type shit. No dialogue, except "Master Hand" and "Crazy Hand" would be the narrators, and it'd be really tongue-in-cheek. Like Ridley would act like a parrot and the team pet.

I just had an epic match with a mega man online. Dude was trashing me, but somehow I managed to catch up. At the end my Lucina was 150% and Megaman was 87%, but in a "fuck it" moment I used counter and send his ass flying out of the stage. I won.

I just played a bunch of good rounds with a Japanese player on For Glory. I like that they let you play the same person for awhile if you wanted, very underrated feature that needs more respect.

So after playing a few matches I got an exploded pixel on my screen.

At first it was just a stuck pixel, but after a few more games my 3DS XL was given an exploded pixel. Of course I'm out of warranty and this is the second XL this has happened too.

It sucks because I baby my 3DS and clean it after every use, before playing SSB it was in mint condition. Guess I'll have to live with the anxiousness of my OCD (which is an actual problem, not joking here) and wait for the N3DS. Let's just hope I'll not cave in and buy that smash edition outright.

Really fudges with stats though. I can beat up on bad players all day who don't quit and my win/loss will spike.

My total ratio is so weighed, man. Makes me really glad that they added the smaller increments. First thirty matches were with new characters you never played? Good thing you don't have to see those in your past 50!

SSE would have been fine if they stuck to locations and enemies from the game's franchises. The super generic locations and SSE-specific enemies sucked. They don't really have to come up with some crazy reason why Link and Mario are teaming up. It's just a kid playing with his toys. But the kid could at least think up more interesting franchise-themed locations and enemies.

What is considered a good ratio in For Glory?

I'm sitting at 70% with >100 games played. idk

But again, someone can easily beat up on a novice player over and over if they refuse to quit, backing out themselves when facing anyone competent. I don't know how much a high ratio will count for in the long run. System can be gamed a bit in those ways.

Love the stage selection, I'm hoping the Wii U version has Magicant in it. I'm also hoping the Wii U version has as many songs as Brawl had, its a bit of shame how few songs some stages have in the 3DS version.

Beat 9.0 intensity with both lives at the end. Took Master Hand through Core with one stock! :D

They did say that Smash Bros. for Wii U would have more songs.

I imagine it was purposely primarily series agnostic to emphasize "Nintendo characters against new threat" rather than a Kingdom Hearts-style thing.

I love Magicant but hate that ridiculously overpowered fuckstick that joins in. I'm glad 'bosses' aren't in too many stages because each one is ruined by them.
