How do you do with Samus? Every time I shoot they charge with that punch attack they have, destroy my missile/beam and hit me hard. His dmg inmunity while attacking is what makes him so hard for me. I even try the "charge beam, dodge + shoot in his back" but they are SO FAST they hit me before I can fire.

Tilts! They are really good against mac. Also, never use missiles when he is close, the only thing I would suggest at that range is a small power shot so he is stunned / obligated to dodge to be open for an attack. Otherwise, zone and punish. Grab whenever you can too, you have a tether grab, use it! Especially for throwing him in the air, samus as some good move in the air.

I even destroyed one with kirby for all thing, that small thing attack too fast for him :P

Who's down for some 1v1?

I'm down! I'll PM you my friend code.

I've gotten 33 of the 35 challenges complete. The ones I'm missing are "Obtain 10 types of Smash Run Powers" and "Collect 3 unique custom outfits". I'm not even sure what the last one means. I feel like I've collected quite a few outfits. Does it mean outfits for Miis? I've got plenty I think. And how long will it take to do the first one? I'm not that big a fan of Smash Run.

Yeah, the online experience isn't worth it for me right now. A real shame, I was looking forward to the upcoming tournaments. Hopefully Verizon will fix the mess that is my wi-fi sooner rather than later

Why do so many characters have counters? I get why Shuk and Lucina have them, but did Palutena and the Swordfighter Mii really need them?

They're especially awful because 99% of the time a counter may as well be an empty slot. New players forget they have them, and serious players (mostly) don't use them because the reward often isn't worth the risk. Sure, everyone remembers the time they countered Bowser's fully charged forward smash and won the match off of it, but people seem to forget every other time that they whiffed their counter and got blown up for it.

I'd imagine so many counters are in the game for the same reason so many characters have down-b specials that plummet them down extremely fast. It's easier to just increment on a move and slightly tweak it than it is to come up with something interesting and different. It just sucks that the developers chose two of the most useless moves to xerox on to huge portions of the cast.

Can't keep track of who to add up there, but I'm up for a 1v1 if anyone wants to play:

FC: 3368 - 1366 - 2554

I added you, if you want to play.

Thanks for showing me your awesome Sonic! Had to get some errands done, but hopefully get to rumble again with you soon!

Can't stop watching salty bet spectator mode, so many players play like SMH. Charizard players you're all to obsessed with flare blitz! Saw a player only using flare blitz not a single different move. Pacman players stop going to a corner to throw stuff at people.

I love Lucina's play style so my other picks might suit you.

Zero Suit Samus and (Dark) Pit are who I use most. Link, Greninja and Bowser also a little bit.

Super late to this, but I actually started playing with ZSS and Pit today and I'm really liking them. Think I'll try with Pit for a bit and see how I get on. Thanks!

I also tried Bowser and he seemed pretty cool, despite not really being my style. Can't really get a rythm with Link or Greninja though.

Can someone explain this to me?

Please tell me how, since it feels impossible with the 3DS. Gamecube controller 4 eva.

I think I've had this problem for a very very long time though I'm not sure it applied to Brawl and Melee. Probably did and I just over compensated for so long.

You probably don't have my problem but I get hit by every single thing known to man. I try to power shield things and there is a lag coming from my characters which cause me to get hit by every single projectile and melee attack ever. It's amazing I got as good as I did.

So basically when approaching an enemy don't let go of the control when you press shield. I usually let it go to neutral and then I press shield. It causes massive amounts of lag during the skidding animation. So you may have already known that and have other problems but this is what has been killing me against higher level people.

In mid dash or walk don't let go of the stick before you shield it will cause super lag. If you time it just right you can attack right out of the shield super quick.

whoever said the that the most satisfying kills are KO kills is wrong

because the most satisfying kills are clearly Luna kills

The most satisfying kills to me are the sweet spot kills. Like landing the entire Zero Suit Samus Up B or nailing someone with the edge of Greninja's Up Smash.

This is accomplished by tapping shield at just the right time. It is called perfect shielding.
