My two big flaws are getting back to the stage and keeping others from getting back on the stage. My main is Greninja but I also play Lucario and ZSS. Lucario is a lot easier to play with while Greninja is the one I'm having the most problems with. Any tips or pointers would be really appreciated!

I don't really play as Greninja at all, but definitely make use of that Up B's aqua jets to push off the opponent as they're trying to recover. Most of the people I've played against that do it well have it go slightly up then jut off towards the stage for the second burst. Seems to be pretty effective in edge guarding. The Water Shuriken attack is also pretty good at redirecting the other player upwards so you can upB them off the stage again.
 
Played a lot over the past couple of days and I'm going from having fun playing link and zero suit samas to considering trading this in next week..

Haha yeah I've been I'm the same seat, game can be really frustrating when playing for glory. Annoying thing is I loose most of my matches but it's always really close. Usually they are on their last stock with 80-180% damage.
 
Four hours this morning alone grinding for a fucking custom outfit to open up the second challenge page. Still nothing and it burns seeing so many repeats.

I'm done. I can't even look at these modes anymore. Massive improvements were made to the overall gameplay, but the modes and single player hooks are either dull or tedious.

Yeah I've done that once or twice, problem is I'm struggling with the controls and can't really pull of his up b that well. Charged up shurikens do the trick against certain characters. Guess I'll have to practice the aqua jets!
 
Ugh, there should really be no repeat custom moves or Mii outfits. I hope they have the decency to patch it out later, because this is just ridiculous.

Yep. I've been grinding for smooth landers equipment for hours and haven't gotten anything since its all random. Really enjoying the gameplay but other than classic and all stars(even that to an extent) the game modes are awful and the collectathon items are tedious to get since its all random.
 
I've had times where he's worked really well and times where its been pretty bad and I just can't land attacks, he doesn't really seem to have many attacks that are quick, even Ike for example has a few aerials and tilts that can help his slower sword style swinging out of a jam, Shulk doesn't seem to have the same luxury and with far less impact as well (unless you have the smash monado art of course).

Yeah. But his side smashes do tons of damage.

Also how do you guys do an uptilt without channeling a smash?
 
Yo I just found a easier way to roll dodge right after landing with Robin (which is kind of useful because if you miss your shield timing you have a ridonk amount of landing lag to deal with and can get grabbed out on the 1st frames of the shield popping. Seriously try to roll dodge as you land and check the timing)

Press neutral b right b4 you land (careful not to use arcfire), and the animation will auto roll you if you tap a direction after. Much less risk of landing lag and a couple frames saved. VERY useful against those Cpt falcons who try to grab you as you land.

I'm going to abuse this so hard.

Final panel I need for the first challenge page is 'Unlock 3 unique outfits'. Just have yet to see anything appear no matter how many smash runs, trophy smash, and classic mode plays I do. Really pissing me off as I want the next tier of challenges to show up, but this stupid RNG hurdle is killing my interest.

Use a hammer?
 
Man what the fuuuuuck did they do to Olimar? Not only is he completely nerfed, but his Pikmin managing metagame was torn out and replaced with nothing. My brawl mains were him and Lucas. Being terrible is one thing, but not even being fun to play is another.

I'll still use him because, y'know, Pikmin, but it's so disheartening :/

I have tested this when you overuse the thunderspells and can confirm that this works even without the book. My god. Those suckers at club will not know what's coming for them.

EDIT: Also I found out why exactly this is faster, while airborne, Robin's thunder charge extends his foot just a slightest bit further down, so you effectively hit the ground a couple frames faster than normal and since you can auto-roll during thunder gives you that split second of extra time. This means that the trick does not work when Thoron is charged so make note.
