I guess so. I believe you need to do it on 7.0 as Link to unlock Ganondorf.

Yeah, try 5.0 for character unlocks. 6.0 for Bowser. No continues for Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem.

A huge problems with Smash Run for me is that the length of the mode is terribly thought out. 5 minutes is way too long for the first part and 1 minute ffa is way too short for any meaningful battle to take place.

And that's even beside the fact that the entire thing is rather dull and uninteresting. Waste of development time, sadly.

I'm thinking Smash Run would work better if there were 3 events after the 5 minute stat collecting and you knew what these were from the start as to know what to work towards.
So you could have say race to the finish, enemy horde and finally stamina smash with the winner being those that got the most points (which is to say each position gives you points as opposed to just the winner).
In my mind at least I think that would be a good fit.

I don't find 5 minutes too long for the first part but that's mainly because I view it as the customisation unlock hunt more than anything else.

what moveset do people like for Palutena? I like the idea of Super Speed (side-b) but I haven't found a great use for it yet though.

I dig Angelic Missile and Explosive Flame.
I've also got Rocket Jump and Celestial Fireworks on this set to round it out as an explosive themed set though admittedly these last two moves don't get much use.

For Glory has forced me to get to grips with her default specials, they're okay but it just ain't my style and sometimes it feels like you lack reliable attacking options with the defaults as her standard attacks and smash attacks tend to leave you vulnerable.

Man, I'll tell you all one thing about this game: it really makes me want to play the Wii U version. This game is fun, but there are many times I don't feel like I'm controlling my characters as tightly as I do in other games. Outside of that, really am enjoying everything. It doesn't. If you go into stats you'll see that the time Smash, With Friends, and With Anyone is all counted separately.

Most tend to be "play mode X times", "beat mode on 5.0 with X", or "beat mode without continuing using X franchise". All the guides have one thing or another wrong.

They're not random. Falco is for beating classic while reaching a certain condition (It's most likely for beating it without using a continue) and Ness is for beating classic once.

Yeah, I think we can agree single player is solid, but a step down from Brawl in options. Online is better than Brawl, but still flawed. Hopefully the Wii U version is full of modes. I want a Nintendo Direct so bad!

I really think it was a mistake to make Mega Man's side smash his Charge Shot. They should have had it be something different and made it so you could run and charge his buster holding the A button, just like in the games.

I followed some of IGN's unlock conditions and they were correct.

Lucinia should be "without using a continue", but the IGN is the closest to accurate I will say from what I remember.
Edit: The picture below has convinced me to not go for 9.0 on Classic.

That's gonna be a pretty big feat if they pull it off. Only two of this games single player modes are fun IMO.

This length is perfect when you take into account that you need to play through it a minimum of 51 times t get everything in the game.

That's too bad. Smash 64 and Melee had some fantastic intro sequences that were a huge part of the game for me. Brawl unfortunately just used gameplay and Subspace Cutscenes mixed together though. Hopefully the Wii U game gets a unique intro.
