Finally had my first online match where it didn't lag beyond playability (was still lag, but only that of a particularly bad LCD TV, haha..). Good times were had, the guy stayed for a few matches.

Any other Australians having a hard time finding stable online 1 v 1?

you should try seeing if playing other Australians makes it not as laggy

Haven't tried 1v1 yet but I've tried free for alls and it's been super laggy to the point of being unplayable. Somehow I actually managed to get a final smash in the first one and win the sudden death round though, don't know how that happened lol. Was looking forward to playing online but it doesn't seem promising with my connection.

FFA is generally laggier due to having more players, maybe 1v1 will work out better for you

Can anyone teach me how to approach with a character that has no reflectors or projectiles of their own? My fingers keep air dodging into the ground so I constantly get lag. I run up to an opponent to shield but it takes a beat for the shield to go up. What do I need to think about and not do when I'm approaching and surrounded by insane projectiles?

I'd rather face Shiek over a Ness or Duck Hunt Dog any day of the week!

Just played a 1v1 and it worked out much better. Is For Glory the only way to do 1v1? I'm not that great yet so more keen to play with people that aren't as serious and more my level, what I've played so far has been me struggling to keep up with my partner haha.

Matchmaking uses dedicated servers but the actual gameplay is peer-to-peer.

That said, the matchmaking does try to find players in your region. However, while this works well for some regions, for Australia it seems to be working... questionably.

I did this by picking DK and jumping onto the left or right platforms. Then I spammed Up-Tilt.

There are three panels each with 35 challenges, you need to fill the first to start the second

His second custom for water shuriken keeps the shuriken in one place. It's good for setting up combos and ledge guarding.

Might be the custom shuriken that brings the opponent towards you when you hit with it. Makes it possible to combo into Up-Smash afterwards.

Do a charged smash attack on the bomb to launch it. You may need to weaken it first with other attacks.
