Having to boot the 3DS with the minimal things everytime you put the game doesnt help things either to see how this game was not optimal for it.
 
So I've been playing some online and I have absolutely no confidence in my air game. every time I try to go up I get knocked down. Especially this Sheik player I've played for an hour. It felt like he was just toying with me until the 3rd fall. Any advice?
 
I really wish this game let you add people you fight online. I had a few random matches with one guy that were great but there's no way to add them :(. I hope the Wii U version has something like that. I know it won't though.
 
So far I have been extremely unlucky to get that 3 body part challenge.
My OCD forbid me to use an hammer.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll have the second wall mostly complete once I get it.

That one also took me a long time. When I finally got it, half of the second wall was already cleared.
Now I need 5 costumes for the second wall...
 
Just unlocked Jigglypuff, the last in the Vs. mode unlocked order. Here comes the part where I play through Classic Mode and All-Star Mode with every character.

So far, my favorite characters are Bowser, Diddy Kong, Kirby, Fox, Charizard, Captain Falcon, Robin, Dark Pit, R.O.B., Sonic, and Little Mac.

If you hate the circle pad, this won't change that fact. I happen to be in that group, and this is still casual fun. Not sure it was must-have, but for me, gaining familiarity for Wii U launch is enough of a payoff to justify it.
 
God damnit, I love Little Mac but I keep getting Little Mac dittos and losing. I'm trying to learn another character like Link or Marth but For Glory seems really good for Little Mac just because of the lack of platforms. Just facing a constant stream of Macs and spam shit and destroy me. :(

You can see your recent players on the Wii U. I think you can add them from there.
 
Cracked and downloaded the game digitally :p

Even though I just got shadow of mordor and I'm still playing Destiny.

Sigh...I hate a backlog.

Out-boxing another Mac is one of the most satisfying things.
 
Is anyone getting errors trying to play online? I get it now and then :/ also online is much much better than brawl, I hope they iron it out.

Just used a hammer on the 3 costumes panel after someone said they don't share across boards. Unlocked the second board and half the panels opened already! Dayum.
 
The smash levels are quite imaginative. Especially the Super Mario Brothers one where the level changes into a pirate ship, then Bowser's castle.
 
Seriously, fuck items in this game. CPU gets a dragoon and I didn't even know there were parts going around because you can't see shit on the tiny screen.

Have to imagine the game is better on an XL.

So why is it such a pain to unlock normally? I'm counting 5 costumes for my Miis. Why's it not unlocking?
 
I've been playing a lot of Bowser Jr. He's almost certainly going to be one of my mains now. His B attack (the cannon ball thing ) is a really great edge guard, especially since I don't feel very confident jumping way out into the edges of the arena with the controls of the 3DS. A fully charged cannon ball can Smash from 80% up, it's so good if it hits.

I'm so glad with how Bowser Jr plays, he was one of my most anticipated characters, and he feels like my favourite, at the moment.

Zero Suit Samus is pretty good too! She might stick around as another main.

It's just too random and fairly rare to get them. Though you have 5, you did start with a bunch of them already and it only counts new ones you earn.

Yep. I ended up plugging my XL into my surround sound system, and it's really fantastic to listen to. I tried using some decent headphones, but the sound output is too quiet on Nintendo systems for whatever reason.

The screen still seems small (and I prefer the normal 3DS for graphics most of the time), but I felt like I was missing out or squinting with the og 3DS, so...

Sakurai pls don't delay the Wii U version
 
Bowser Jr is amazing. He has so much options, and his space control is phenomenal. He racks damage up so quickly.


But I REALLY dislike how bad he is at KOing. USmash is the only reliable kill move, but you have to be really close to get it. FSmash has a really weird hitbox and is unsafe, and Up B, while really strong, is just asking to get gimped off stage if you don't land the hit. None of his aerials are spectacular at killing either, and his recovery isn't good enough to gimp deep off stage like Jigglypuff, Wario and Villager could.

I think Side B kills, but idk, is there a specific timing to it? I'm still learning this character.

Side B does the most damage and knockback on spinout.
