Super Smash Bros. for 3DS |OT2| Nintendo All-Stars Battle Quarter Pounder

Game is a ton of fun so far, but I have an original 3DS and it's way too small for my hands. It becomes physically painful for me to play after a while. Ordered a attachable grip thing from Amazon though which will hopefully make it more comfortable to use. I'm getting my ass kicked in Classic mode once I go 6 or above.
 
So no idea if online lag had a play in this but Little Mac's KO punch can't be countered right? I tried with a random when I got Ike and couldn't counter back lol.

Play the distance game, try to hit him with projectiles and anticipate his combo move, via countering it with a move or roll and grab, combo seems to be the one most use online thus far anyway.

This game is so good. Shulk feels just as fun to play as I expected (and kicks ass if you use the Monado Arts correctly), he doesn't feel slow at all to me. Maybe it's because I mained Ike in Brawl and don't typically play the 'zomg super speed" characters. At any rate, he's a blast and I'll definitely be maining him.

Guys. I really need advice on dealing with yoshi using the egg lay on the edge. How the fuck do you get out of the egg fast enough to make it back to the edge like wtf

he's pretty damn strong. Try to keep distance as you'll probably lose a direct fight with most characters. Spam projectiles, gimp his recovery

KO punch in the hands of a good player is stupidly good

I was DHD, right? He flies pretty far when he gets hit/bombed/anything, haha.
I think my personal highlight was finally getting to use my Sakurai Mii online! :D

Yeah. Why not just give them a default moveset (all the first attacks or something) and let us use them? It's stupid we can't. We can race as them in MK8 and see them in the lobby, why can't we beat them up? Because nintendo think that counts as cyber bullying? You can't even message the random people you match up with!

I want to be able to kick ass as online as Snoop Dog.
 
Just went on a small unlock spree, got Lucina, Ganondorf, Wario, Dr. Mario, Dark Pit and Bowser Jr.

Also, my first For Glory match was complete ass, the game buffered more than times and lagged like crazy. I saved it so if the video will explain it, I'll upload it. A real shame though :/

He probably has the best ground normals in the game so don't bother trying to fight him up close or on the ground if you can avoid it.If you can fight him at half-stage+ distance do it as much as possible and punish him when he gets frustrated and does his unsafe dash punches to get in closer. If you play a slower character with no projectile game like Bowser or DK, you just have to try and bait him and whiff punish him. I'm not sure if it's armor or invincibility, but his smash attacks seem to absorb a hit so don't bother trying to make any favorable trades with him. He feels like he's basically designed to mulch characters like that though, so it's not going to be a fun match up.

His recovery is really predictable and crappy so once you get him off the stage at all you're basically guaranteed a kill on him. If you get really frustrated, I'm pretty sure Pac-Man just beats him for free thanks to the hydrant and his projectile game so you could try that.

People that keep trying to go toe to toe against Mac are fighting a losing battle. Ledge baiting seems to be an effective tactic.
 
Not really a big deal, but how do you unlock more profile icons? I unlocked all of them in my import version after playing a while, but is there anything I should specifically be doing?
 
41 out of 49 wins in for glory. Not bad. Most of those losses were early when I was struggling with the controls.

Hm. I thought you were Robin. I was Ganon. I did my side B and made us hit the ground and we died after that, but you were faster to do so.

Unless you really weren't that Robin. Then, oops :P
 
I think I've only won the challenger appears (3 right now) so far because the CPU does something stupid and self destructs...not that I'm one to talk about stupid self destructs.
 
Have a 20+ game win streak going with little mac. This character is way too much fun. If this character had a melee-esque crouch cancel he would be amazing.
 
I love this game so much. The only downside to putting so many hours into the demo training as Mega Man, is that now I subconsciously try to use Mega Man strats as other characters. First time I played as my brawl main Lucario, I kept trying to do hard knuckle meteor smashes and backward slash claws. Whoops.
 
also is there a way to copy your miis from your friend list to your mii maker? I want to make Mii fighters off my friends, but with their miis, don't want to have to make thwm again.
 
Lol decided to play for glory and went with dark pit. Match loaded up and it was a dark pit mirror. Decided to pick pit afterwards and it was another mirror match. We taunted at the same exact time. Then we both ended up picking palutena and doing the same thing lol.
 
Ergh, really sorry Gazoinks. Had to make room for someone else (non-GAF) I'd promised to play. I'd be up for a match afterwards, if you are though.
