No, that's the best time to keep playing! Makes you get better cause you have to adapt. Has helped me with my Greninja quite a bit.

I won't spoil it for you guys here, but Pokémon Trainer's trophy description is easily my favorite in the whole game. It's amazing. Keep an eye out for it.

Just keep beating Classic mode with various characters on at least 5.0 and you should unlock most characters.

Haha, I actually just went through all the trophies and read that; you can really tell this is the same localization that Earthbound got.
I've unlocked 3-4 fighters thus far purely playing 1v1 level 3 CPU Smash games on 3-stock as I try each fighter. That lets me see variety in fighters, and still gives me some unlocks along the way. Taking a break after unlocking G&W, my neck (having to look down at the 3DS for 3 hours or so) and hands are killing me. I might get back to it in an hour and a half or so, though. I ain't going to lie, it does get painful holding the 3DS for that many hours and playing a game like Smash.
I really like the feel of Bowser, I'm pretty sure he's not going to be as bad as he has been in previous titles -- a lot of his attacks have good active frames and hitboxes. His only downside is probably how big he is but then that's always been his weakness. He just didn't have any good answers to counteract his bigness compared to other characters and now he kinda does.
Haven't gotten around to trying the newcomers I'm interested in except Bowser Jr. I also checked out RosaLuma for a Classic mode run and she felt OK. I'm not really someone who's good with puppet characters or characters like ICs but she seemed like she has potential. Bowser Jr. is definitely going to be good, his projectiles control space so well (especially Down B).
So far I have unlocked Falco, G&W, Jigglypuff, Ness, Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, and Duck Hunt. Still quite a few left but I'm almost done. Then I get into the lab and start trying out everyone else I haven't yet.
Shittiest thing so far: playing against characters you have to unlock on walk-off stages and/or scrolling stages. Absolutely stupid and pretty annoying if you get hit when you're just an inch towards off-screen. :/

As a Brawl Olimar main, he's definitely taking some getting used to. Having Pikmin be in a set order helps a lot, but adjusting to just three Pikmin requires more care on the player's part and they nerfed the range of his smashes (particularly the Up one, which was killer). He's still really fun, but don't expect to be using the same tactics.

That's exactly why my record is like that. I rather have some good matches and lose than pick on easy people. I'm from Toronto, so I'm used to that losing feeling anyways

So its unplayable on my 3DS. I have got about 10 system lockups this morning and have only been able to play one full game. I swapped my SD card to see if that was the problem, yet the issue has continued.

Try using the repair download tool? If swapping the SD card doesn't help, I'm guessing that would be the problem.

Holy crap guys, the lag is really real. I know that this sounds stupid, but today I witnessed it a lot, and very bad ones. How can that happen, really? Is the local wireless connection shitty or the 3DS is not giving enough power?
Let me explain: I went today to a Smash event that happened here, and I played a lot of local matches. I just couldn't play some, especially when I was the host, and my game was digital. The cartridges players lagged a bit, but not the quantity that I lagged when I hosted. I think that my case is probably because of my slow SD card, I'll try to find a Class 10 128 or 64 GB ASAP. However, sometimes even other cartridges players lagged too, and it was just like that Treehouse event that people were saying that it was just "an early build". I enjoyed playing the game though, it is very fun, but it can get hectic very fast.

I tried to join your room and got kicked. Maybe it was a 1v1 room? My bad if so, I don't really know what I'm doing.
Jigglypuff's AI is just assholeish. She was spamming rollout on me for most of the battle.
