I hate Smash Run's randomness. I picked Charizard and the end match was Climb. Enemy Team is the only decent mode I found in Smash Run yet.

Why am I not surprised? ><; I left after that match because I just want my second Zelda win for the challenge damn it.

Wow nevermind as I'm typing this the update stops. Why the Hell are these downloads so bad? The demo did this too.
 
So, for some reason, my friend and I can't connect to anything online: not to each other, not to any matchmaking playlist. Keep getting this error code: 018-0516. Not sure what's going on since everybody else seems to be connecting to each other well, at least.

honestly i wish smash run had more of this

having one person totally leave the others in the dust in city trial because they got the winged star and the final match ended up being air glider is always funny
 
Is anyone having a problem with trying to walk and your character just dashing every time? The control stick makes precise movement (particularly while trying to attack the sandbag in home run mode) VERY difficult and frustrating. :(
 
Just got home from work and started playing the game about 30 minutes ago. Half-way through my first Classic mode playthrough the cover to my circle pad falls off, which I didn't even realize it could do. It seems to go back on easy enough but then during my second classic mode playthrough it falls off again. This is going to be happening to me constantly isn't it?
 
I just used a half charged shield breaker to totally annihilate a DK shield that was somewhere between 75 and 100% charged.

Holy crap.

They were added last minute & Sakurai

probably didn't want to go through the trouble of editing the code for the CSS.
 
So there are only 34 stages? The screen can fit 35. Sakurai!!!

I cannot transfer my hammers from one screen to the other? I could have skipped Smash Run! ASDF!!!!
 
Online impression went from, "This is great!" to, "thiiiis is worse than Brawl" in a matter of two rounds. The second was against an Asian (presumably, Japanese name), but then I was facing people with more common names, and things were still choppy. Finally hopped off when the fifth match managed to take five minutes to spend twenty in-game seconds. And I do mean hopped off; ended up suiciding just to get the game over with.

REALLY hope that this is just launch day problems. Our internet isn't fiber-optic or anything, but it holds up with other games.

Speculation is that the last slot is for selecting DLC.

It's got to be launch day traffic. I played a lot last night and it was smooth as silk.

Today I can't even get to a match without disconnecting.
 
Finally home from work, finally have Smash in my hands...time to veg all weekend and play Smash until my fingers bleed!

Gonna fuck around in Classic and unlock some characters first, then I'm gonna go online and see how terrible I am.
 
Just had some crystal clear games with no lag with my friend in Texas, and I'm playing from Sweden. I have to say they nailed the online pretty well for the most of the part. I only had some input lag issues at first but its something I oddly get used to after a couple stocks.
 
Fuck yes, finally getting the hang of Elfire to fair-smash with Robin. Just need to keep practicing for the next while to ground it into muscle memory.

That's re-assuring, but also begs the question of how they didn't manage to prep enough.
 
Smash Run is so half assed. You fight Kid Icarus enemies and receive powerups that are ultimately pointless in the brief matches that play out afterwards. Terribly unrewarding. And I loved City Trial.
 
Uhhh I just went to the eShop to "repair" my Smash Bros. since the Save Data Transfer Tool told me to (got an Error Code when trying to Transfer from Cartridge to Download)
eShop checked my game and said there's nothing it can do. then it went on anyway and started downloading an 8 block small update... and this update has been going on for half an hour now... 8 blocks... half an hours... doesn't sound right... hmmm..

Gotta' say that it's more underwhelming than I was expecting. It would have been nice if everyone was actually on a shared stage, it was a bit smaller and more focused, and if you could choose the match that happens at the end.

More clarity, and more work to make everyone feel that they are playing together.
 
Btw I went back to play Wii U e3 Demo at suisse toy after playing Smash 3DS for a couple of days... That demo is garbage compaired to the final version!

Brawl was bad every round. This game's online is much better.

Why would it hinder anyone? You should get punished for bullying people and quitting games. No one would be trying to do that anyway unless they're just trolling, which is a great reason to ban someone. The situation takes care of itself.

Absolutely. It's not unplayable on the OG 3DS or anything, but it's much, much better on the 3DS XL in every way, especially if you have big hands.

Been playing for a bit and so far I have Ness, Dark Pit, Falco, and Dr. Mario. I've been playing Classic to unlock chars because I want to get some custom moves along the way. :P
