Super Smash Bros. for 3DS |OT2| Nintendo All-Stars Battle Quarter Pounder

Is the online multiplayer for Smash Bros 3DS laggy for everyone? It was quite laggy for me today. This doesn't happen to me in Mario Kart 7 or any of active Playstation fighters, so its not the connection.

Ive played 10+ matches, one bogged down in the last 5 seconds, one froze and loaded for five seconds and the rest have been butter smooth. Granted this is my first smash game and I suck so if there is input lag I might just not notice it.

Anyone wants to settle it in slash? I don't know what needs to be settled yet but I'll think of something... My friend code is 1048-9498-3847

I don't think he is ever getting an English voice.

Considering they changed Pit, Sonic, Fox and Falco's actors, if he (or Ike) ever gets another official voiced appearance, they'll likely update his voice. Or maybe not, ZSS hasn't changed, after all.

Yoshi is fucking ridiculous. He's the only character I've taken to Master Core at 7.5 and managed to ace without losing a life.

He has top tier written all over him. His moves have such crazy versatility and power.
Really? Holy shit. I loved maiming Yoshi since the original Super Smash. He was always a scrub tier character in Bros, Meele, and Brawl, and I was kicking ass with him in this game and thought I was just doing good.

So happy to see Yoshi finally being a viable option!

Can you unlock character's VS match requirements with local multiplayer?
Think so. Some people seem to have issue with online multi-player. Perhaps it is because it does not unlock while online but still keeps count. I know the game does not count Classic fights as Versus though since I am doing challenge boards now.

Does it interrupt the game for the other player while you fight them or do you fight them all in order your next few single player vs games?

I wonder why they only changed the name to Duck Hunt Duo in Europe. It's so much more logical than simply Duck Hunt. They should've changed it everywhere.

So apparently at Best Buy every Smash copy and every coin (for those who preordered during E3) has your name taped on the package. Really glad it was so organized.

They had a printed list of those who were supposed to get the coin. I just gave my name and done. Didn't even need to show my license but then again I have a very foreign and rare last name (I'm almost certain anybody who has it in my state is related to me).

Two more stages unlocked.
Villager 3 times - Balloon Fight
Kirby FS - Dreamland

Flat Zone 2 I know is beating the first 35 challenges, but what of the last stage?

This is how I'm unlocking characters:

OsVHdTC.jpg

1 stock match vs Level 1 CPU Kirby, Stage Selection set to random Omega Stage. Taped the Circle Pad to the left to Self Destruct.

Racking up versus matches with minimal attention needed. Just have to press start when I hear Kirby's victory music and at the character select screen, then go back to browsing the Internet or whatever.

There are probably faster ways to do it, but this seems the most convenient.

Little Mac -> Lose -> "Marth counters Ness, Right?" -> Marth -> Lose -> "M-Maybe the Little Mac game was just a fluke" -> Little Mac -> Lose -> Leave game

Did "Random" for my first Classic Play-through, got Shulk...

I honestly didn't have fun. Low difficulty meant the opponents did like nothing, and Shulk's confusing to use off the bat like that. After beating that, I got Falco, and then played Smash Run (it's...okay. I hope they patch in more stuff like changing the time) and got Ness.

Raised the difficulty, and played as Marth. Had way more fun, and got Lucina. She was actually a really tough fight, and I lost, but I played a round in Smash and got her with Mario. It was a pretty intense fight, though.

Then did Bowser on 6.0, and got Dark Pit. Seems Jr. is 7.0. Raising the difficulty meant I actually had a lot of fun, especially on a FFA on the Pac-Man Stage.

Having fun so far. Only real complaint with the 3DS is the Mii Fighter fight is a bit boring since you can't really see who you're fighting on the small screen.

One thing I really love are the Trophy Descriptions, I actually love reading them now unlike in Brawl when it was just you unlocked them, and it was meh. I wish they kept the "Series/Game/Year" for each Trophy, some don't tell you, and that bothers me. Like that weird rain-drop dude, what's he from? Also found a typo, Snivy's Trophy calls Onix "Onyx".

And Toad's trophy mentioning Captain Toad is...interesting.

you should demand Melee Peach back, gotta start dealing 72% damage with down smash on people that can't get out of it ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)

I'm conflicted since I do enjoy that she has reliable killing options. I'll take her melee speed tho. ( ͝° ͜ʖ͡°)

ffdgh pls Melee Peach has reliable killing power too

Picked up Smash! I was hoping that by some twist of fate, my free trophy would be Anna, but alas. Squirtle. :negative:

Spent most of the bus ride fooling around with Robin. I still think the 3DS controls and ergonomics are pretty bad. I didn't expect I'd have so much trouble with aerial smash inputs, but I do. It feels like the game requires you to be a lot rougher with the 3DS than I usually prefer to be, and so I keep following with non-Levin'd fairs. Love how Robin feels otherwise, even if I'm still pretty clumsy with her. I've read so much theory and walkthroughs about her, but applying it has been a whole other story. Correctly spacing those Elfires is kind of driving me crazy, and I'm awful at Robin in FFA. I'm gonna blame that more on me having barely any idea what's going on in an FFA half the time. It's easier than I thought it'd be to just... lose track of your character, or like, what specifically is going on in a situation. The smaller screen of the 3DS is having me unconsciously focus way more on my character alone and everything else gets pushed out, so I won't really have a good impression of what's going on at the other side of the stage. I didn't think I'd find the 3DS version so troublesome... but I am. It felt alright in the demo, but Robin feels a lot less straightforward than Link. Probably because she is less straightforward than Link. So much nuance!

Classic mode has been pretty fun, though. Although I'm constantly getting salty about getting coins on the slots when I'd rather have a customization. Haven't tried Smash Run, but I probably will sooner rather than later. Although I'll be happy to play a multiplayer game if anyone wants to play me. My FC being:

3668-7701-9486

So, like, PM me if you wanna add me or something.

Gonna try Palutena in a bit. I'll be happy if I can get Jigglypuff on my hands sooner rather than later.

Turning off tap jump is really what's screwing me, though, since I keep sliding up to jump for an aerial follow-up or when I'm off the stage, only for nothing to happen. Many an SD has been because of that. Still, it's the only way I'll be able to be more consistent with short-hops in the future (and waste less double jumps by instinct), so better try and get used to the new order.

I need to get good for the Smash Sisters Tourney, haha.

Alright, only guys left to unlock are G&W and ROB. Doing Classics for unlocks is a bit slower, but it's a lot more fun than grinding 120 matches would've been.

I'm not good at all with him yet, but Duck Hunt seems really cool. So much stage control. Loving Robin too.

I also like Smash Run a lot more than I expected to, given the generally negative reception.

Quick question for all your Smash players. I am loving the game so far and having a good time, but I am getting owned in 1v1 Glory. I think it is still my favorite game type and I'm having fun learning the characters, but my record is like 0-10 right now.

This is my first true smash game with the exception of a few matches in Melee back in the day. I'm 25 and somehow just completely skipped out on this series.

Do you think that with practice and continual losing, I can get actually decent at the game? I enjoy playing as Zero Suit Samus, Pikachu, and Samus. What is a good beginner character and how long did it take you to get halfway decent at the game?

Thanks GAF!

Duck hunt dog is the wall master. Not even toon link is in the same tier when it comes to walls.

It took me about 2 years to become pretty damn decent in brawl (this was college so I had a lot of time ) playing with my friends we put about 200 hours in, the wii broke got replaced and put another 200 in. So yeah. That long.

Good beginner character is Mario imo. Really balanced.
