Well, the first thing you are supposed to do is unlock all the characters. If you do it via single player stuff instead of suiciding in VS it takes a while.

And 100%ing the Challenge Boards will also take a while. Freaking "Get all the custom moves".

Seems faster than Brawl. Dodges seem the same. Fair is even better. About the same mobility and speed, I'd say.

I really need help here guys

I turn it on, and get nothing, unless I remove the SD card, then it works fine.

I'm almost in tears. My entire weekend, all my plans, they relied on Smash working.

IIRC the 3DS goes into a special light-weight OS for the game to function at the current performance. I would guess the extra waiting time when starting/stopping the game is due to changing the OS.

I have no source other than I read it here on GAF though.
 
I just realized online matches count towards unlocking characters. You just have to complete an offline match afterwards. I played about 30 online matches, went into offline vs and after 3 matches, i unlocked 3 characters.

Side note I just now found "classic mode" giving it a go now.

All the characters seemed to be unlocked already from the beginning unless i'm wrong?
 
Anyone else get horrible, horrible lag when finishing a match on the Xenoblade stage? That's twice now that it's hung for nearly 5 seconds before progressing.
 
Does this game have an Adventure mode like Melee's? That was off the hook.

Ah man that is not good to hear. I really wanted something faster and more fluid. It doesn't have that same sort of "moon jump" as Brawl does it?
 
Fonqlly got the game this afternoon and was able to play a load of matches with my brother before work. Still a bit miffed I didn't get it earlier since who I went with are usually faster but it's probably just Royal Mail if I'm honest. Needless to say, last night and this morning it was so hard resisting the urge to get it digitally instead if it meant I could play sooner.

Now I can finally get stuck into it - already grinded all the character unlocks so time to get stuck into the new characters.

I'm enjoying WFT a lot. People weren't exaggerating when they said Mac sucked in the air, and he's difficult to control on the ground too. Having trouble with Rosalina as well but maybe I just need practice.

Overall, loving it so far. Hoping tp play with people here if you need rooms filling

Is it a new SD card? If so, did you format it correctly before using it?

Maybe try using a different SD card to see if you get the same problem. If you don't, that's some relief, right? At worst you'll just have to redownload the game (though the size could be a problem).

I really don't want to get your hopes up because I don't really know if this will help. Good luck.

Ah then thats my main criticism gone it looked like from the screen that every character was there. so with there being no story mode how do you unlock all these characters and moves swell was mentioned?

Complete Classic Mode with different characters/multiple times or play some vs matches

Happy unlocking!
 
Luigi's nerfed recovery is killing me in For Glory. I just chased a Robin offstage, got him with a fair (even got black lightning on it,) Robin survives and Elwinds back onto the stage, while my Super Jump Punch falls short of the ledge.

And then a Charizard gimped me by just standing on the edge and breathing fire. It was pretty sad.

It's slightly less floaty, but you still don't conserve your momentum when jumping, meaning it still feels really stiff.

Ground speed of the game is much faster in general (relative to Brawl), but there's still no momentum conservation (like in Brawl), so floaty jumps inconsistent with your running start still exist. The faster ground speed arguably makes the jumping physics feel more inconsistent, heh.

Other SD card works

Downside
The other SD card has a year and a half of Animal Crossing, and my Tomadachi village on it with all the exclusive items from every month since release.

My compute won't even read the SD card
I don't know what to do. I almost want to cry if I lose my village

You can get them all in classic mode or by playing a certain number of regular vs. matches.
