I just realized that very soon I'll be unable to check the pic of the day when I wake up for the first time since I've lived in this house, and that's kind of weird to me. It's only been a little more than a year, but it seems like so much longer. I'm glad I was able to make such great friends here on NeoGAF with what short time we had, it's been a wild ride.
And they're limited to timed to 2 minutes, you're better off playing Teams in With Friends where you can turn on friendly fire and mess with other settings (like stocks) and such.
Enables the online gameplay, and some minor things.

Have been playing a couple hours and my right thumb hurts. Am not using my 3DS much at all so I can't quite remember this happening before. The shoulder buttons just make it so I have to cramp my fingers a bit I think.

To be honest I don't remember. i remember seeing it in For Glory but I didn't check For Fun. I will keep you posted.

No Smash for me today thanks to Shopto/Royal Fail. Was hoping to enjoy a full day of Smash a day early since I remember Shopto being good but evidently not anymore ¬_¬
It sounds like they are good... Good at adhering to the street date!
This is the first time they have ever failed to get something pre-launch day for me. I'm surprised.
It will have to happen multiple times for me to decide they're no longer good.

Typically how these games work is you can play online on the latest version and Japan has had updates since release. Namely to fix the Peach for glory glitch (using the vegetable at the start of the match would you get banned for 24 hours for bringing items into a for glory match).
IIRC v1.0.1 opened For Glory and displayed conquest.
Kind of related Amazon only dispatched mine this morning. The last Friday release I got from them they dispatched on Wednesday. This almost suggests everything is sending them out a bit late...

Last time I ordered through them was 2 years ago, and I think I remember the deliveries coming on release date more often than not which is why I stopped using them since the only reason I used them beforehand was receiving the game a day or two early, or for exclusive extras. It's my day off, so needless to say I'm a little jealous of people who've got it early right now. Will have to try that Gameseek UK place another time since I saw someone on here receive it Wednesday.
Same. I typically only play coop games online. I don't see how they have this mode and no way for you to play with a friend and match up against another pair. Huge oversight and big disappointment.

Still dunno if I should go to the midnight tonight or not. Only because something came up so I'll have to be up early now.
You can survive on 2 hours of sleep. Or only play the game for an hour. Or something. Probably. Give in to the hype!
Really I think midnight launches are a ton of fun, especially if it's something you care about. Hanging out in line with like-minded fans is nicer, and probably even more fun when everyone has the demo. And there's something great about that feeling of getting home in the middle of the night, and playing your shiny new anticipated game for a bit before just passing out until morning.
I personally don't mind, as I have the Japanese one...but I didn't...

It's hard to get excited about it just based on my gaming habits (and general preference for not-portable games), and it doesn't help that I didn't really like the demo much entirely due to the 3DS controls and the tiny screen. Plus, it would be nice if it felt fresh when the "real" game comes out rather than having it feel like old hat because of the appetizer, so to speak.
But at the same time I'd be pretty disappointed to pass on the 3DS version only to realize I need it to take advantage of some of the features I am looking forward to, or that I could have used it to get the grinding out of the way in advance. Plus I have like 9 days off starting Sunday.
I dunno. It's Smash. I probably won't be able to resist buying it all the way through November, so I guess I might as well get it around launch. Worst case scenario, I can probably get most of my money back by selling it in a few months if it comes down to it. (This is more like caving than excitement).

I love my hands too much to play the 3ds version. I played the demo for a few matches the first day it was released and stopped.
Waiting for the Wii U version.

After having more than 500 trophies, some trophies that cost 2500 smash coins shows up in the shop.
Due to recent Royal Mail changes the delivery cards now say wait 24 hours rather than 4.
I'm still going after work to try and pick it up (on the presumption that a card has been left at my place).

I get where you're coming from... I'd rather have the Wii U version feel new when it comes out, I'd rather not play Smash on a handheld, and it'll be pretty disappointing if unlocks can't be transferred (and it's weird that we don't know). I just kinda gloss over all that and tell myself that's it's Smash Bros. I've always been excited, so I'll keep being excited. Even now that I'm pretty pessimistic in general.
But I can't force you to be excited. I hope you're able to get into it. With over a week off, it definitely seems like a good use of the time, unless you have something else lined up to play/do. If you really aren't feeling it, I guess skipping makes sense though.

The game is incredible though, I think it lives up to the hype. I was gonna type out a big review but eh.
2 and a half hours. You can't beat that.
