Feat. D1, Prog, Pierce7d, Warchamp7, Tafokints, NAKAT, Gunblade, Max (aka juice.Doom), and Toph (he's in traffic atm but will be there soon). A mix of Brawl and Melee players.

This applies to everyone, by the way, whether you're casual or competitive. It's everyone. So I recommend listening/watching if you can.
Thanks! Tuning in now.

I wish the 3DS had voice chat. Cause like, how it is now, I just kinda start to think about what the other player is thinking. Makes me think they think they're better than me. Fuck them. Always ends up making me salty.

Don't let them think that! Out think them! Out think them through the game itself! Out think yourself so you will be so good they won't even be able to think about why that ass-whooping you gave them happened! >:D

Remember that story about the shit-ton of Smash 3DS copies? Yeah, there's more to it.

The reason why this was the most heart-breaking day of my life so far was because said SUV dropped 5 or so copies of Smash on the street because the car's trunk for was acting up (from what I saw). I tried to run to it, but a yellow Corvette (who was right behind the SUV) ran over all the copies w/ some cars that followed. I couldn't make this shit up even if I tried. ;_;

Oh

My

That's the absolute worst luck ever.

Trust me, I've seen worse shit happen to me. Though this ranks at #3.

I'm so glad this game is finally coming out for everyone else. I've already put more than 50 hours into the North American version and I still can't get enough, and I'm looking forward to playing some of you! It's just so good and a clear indicator of how untouchably incredible the Wii U version is going to be.

1. Mega Man
2. The Legend of Zelda
3. Mario

I like how that's blamed on the 3DS's limitations, but it's a change that's unilaterally for the better. 3DS's limitations for the win!

Why you or anyone else is taking a tier list as gospel this early is so beyond me I can't even... dude, just play it for yourself and see how you feel. Kirby is far from "low-tier" or even lacking in this. He was my main in Brawl and he's basically like he was in that game (amazing) but buffed even further, and I've been tearing shit up with him in this game both online and off.

Just play the game for yourself and decide if a character is good for you or not on your own terms. If I listened to all the idiots out there calling Mega Man low tier, I never would have picked him up for myself with the intention of getting seriously competitive with him and discovered how beastly he can be in the right (willing to learn) hands. Play who you like and MAKE them good by improving your own game. For a lot of people, anyway, "low tier" really just means "too hard to learn."

Yes. It's Duck Hunt.

Amazing. Even after all the time I've spent with this game, I've never seen that. There really is no game designer like Sakurai. He's so laser-focused on awesome little details like this... if and when he retires, it'll be a sad day for the industry indeed.
I take don't understand why people seem to have a hard time adjusting to mega man. He's the easiest for me to use of any smash character I've played as. I do like watching the competitive community part as him to pick up on pointers like how effective metal blade can be if used properly.

So this happens when you do a smash attack on a starman, I love it.

Well, the good news is we have roughly a day and a half until it comes out. Gotta try and look at the bright side. Smash 4 is finally on the horizon!

Thinking of possible DLC choices, I always thought Tharja was one of the most popular Fire Emblem Awakening characters, but apparently she's 11th? Seems, at least in Japan (aka relevant to Smash), GAIUS is right behind Chrom and Lucina for #3.

Have to say, a thief-character would be cool in Smash, atleast from a casual perspective if he had a move allowing him to snatch items out from players.

Huh. Maybe not Gaius, but I'd love to see a sneaky "Thief" character get into Smash. Maybe they can disable moves, too, to make them competitively viable? Or maybe take... projectiles...

Nevermind, I guess we do have a character like that...

Good game.
This is my last race.
Good luck!

Ouch... You'll get some sympathy from me.

Yeah, you're right. I already pre-ordered my own copy at Best Buy at the same time I got Bayonetta 2. I just wanted to get another copy for my little brother since I won't always be home to let him play.

I am with you. I was a bit worried, but it is because people are playing Smash like the older games. Mega Man racks up the damage quickly. I also cannot stand the idea of tiers because it is the best option to play as everyone and choose the one you play best as.

Am I going to have to be that guy? Ugh, alright.

Pics or it didn't happen man. That is one of the tallest internet tales I've ever read.
Believe me, it'd be all over my Instagram if my phone was actually charged (thanks to overnight studying for the 2 tests I had today & checking GAF, which I fell asleep before my nightly traditions). And this is the part to where you don't believe me, & at this point, I don't give a shit if you don't.

I'll be listening in.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of comments that state they don't see any toxicity in the competitive community/game preference? We all laughed at that silly Facebook post from the other day, but that's generally the sort of example I've seen and I'm a little shocked that's not recognized.

spoiler alert: tiers don't apply to you

It's meant to be a general guideline if the characters are played to their full potential. Megaman could be bottom, but he could also still be viable tourney wise at the same time. It's too early to really call.

Look at Rolento in Ultra SF4, I think most people wouldn't disagree he's probably near the bottom of characters, but he's still very viable in the right hands.

I like Megaman but I do really feel he has a hard time killing, racking up damage is easy, but people will learn how to block, especially with the newer shield mechanics. He definitely excels better off-stage, so he might be fine regardless.

I was almost willing to believe it but then the wall of gifs kind of annoyed me, haha. Some of us use mobile you know!

I find it hilarious that we argued for weeks about the legitimacy of the ESRB leaks, but many of you so quickly believe such a ludicrous story.

It has all the classics. Phone isn't charged, no salvaged material for proof. Codes, manuals, carts destroyed. Traffic behaving in a way that doesn't really make sense. Giant Texas trucks.

10/10. Would repost on 4chan.

Oh no, the traffic was behaving normally, it's just that the crossway light took its sweet time to go white.

So anyone have any idea on how to unlock more outfits for Mii Fighters? I got the Mage robe for gunner but I need to unlock 3 outfits for the last challenge block on the first page and I have no idea how to unlock more.

It's a real issue in the entire spectrum of Smash. The people who brush it aside have a defeatist attitude about changing it, "That's just how it is..." and things like that. I am sure it's possible to change the attitude and behavior, it's just going to take a lot of work. Just talking about it is a good start in general and I'm happy this conversation is even happening at all because truthfully, it's an ugly truth nobody wants to face.

You see it in the competitive scene, you see it between casual players, you see it with casual vs competitive players, etc. It's everywhere and everything. We've seen it even in these threads (but not as bad, obviously, more civil but it can get really heated at times).

And of course, there's the argument that it "only happens online" but the nonverbal language offline is generally very telling -- Melee players don't hang out with Brawl players, there's no mingling or anything -- Nairo was only able to "feel" his win at Apex 2014 for Brawl for a mere split few minutes before everyone started chanting Melee (even if there was no ill intent behind the chant and just hype, it had a negative impact on Nairo instead of congratulating him first and etc).

Guys, i have a question for you guys that already have digital Smash Bros. Aside from the 2.1 GB needed for the game, will I need more space on my SD card for the game? Like for save data? I'm getting some confusing information from someone else, but I don't really know to trust him because he's kind of a dope. So how much space total will I need on my card? .

Challenge board and random drops. Have fun! (It's not that fun to unlock stuff)

i thought the story was funny so regardless of whether or not it was true it accomplished its goal

if people on neogaf want to laugh at me if it's not real that is okay

smash bros for nintendo 3ds

I'll just have suck it up & get over it, I suppose. ;_;

Which reminds me, friskykillface brought up a good point. You guys think the Smash servers will survive launch?

There's nothing else to save aside from replay data, which shouldn't take that much data unless you make like a bajillion of them.

Thanks for the insight. Personally, as someone who perceived the flood of hate from Melee players as being representative of the entire community for years, I'm very interested in this conversation as well and I'm hoping it'll bring about some change and a warmer welcome for Smash 4.

Wait, it's unbelievable that someone dropped unsecured cargo all over the road and that a bunch of other people just didn't give a fuck and ran over it? I see that happening all the time. I remember seeing a Wonder Bread truck with its trailer door half open dropping bread all over the road a few years back.

Besides, the first rule of storytelling is: never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

I like bread.

this makes me sad

I am genuinely saddened that people would be so cruel to bread.

Far better than Christmas last year, the servers were down for what? 2-3 days?
I had eShop money that was just collecting dust for days.

Also, I think I know why Giant Yoshi grows when eaten by Player Yoshi. Giant Yoshi must be coded to where whenever he spawns, he is spawned at x times his original size. I'm not sure how complicated the code for Smash Bros. is, but the dev team could patch this by reworking the code to where there's a separate if statement for Yoshi's standard B should Giant Yoshi get eaten.
