-Pit has a really good VA. Haven't played Uprising but I'll assume it's the same guy from there. "The fight is on!" line is gone though, which is weird because I'm pretty sure the Japanese version retained it.
-Shulk's VA sounds really off on some lines, not like in the trailer or the games
-The poledance giggle sounds even creepier in english
-Marth is still Japanese
-Dark Pit sounds like an edgy teenager. Is he supposed to sound like this?

That's likely because the Brawl and Uprising versions of Pit had the same VA in Japan.

Essentially, yes. Though I don't think he sounds all that different from regular Pit - they do share an actor, after all.
 
I wasn't sure whether to get this or just wait for the Wii U release, but I guess the GAF -community will be active and I just need Smash for the road. It has been years since I played Melee ( rather religiously, I might add ), so getting back to the serie will feel good.
 
From the English footage, Robin doesn't sound anything like he does in Awakening for the Smash trailer. I wonder if their lines are a victim of compression on the 3DS version. I'm glad Marth is still in Japanese though. Minna is totally going to miteite that kure.
 
Brawl's Fox voice was already perfect. There are already tons of voices being recycled, they could have just recycled his too, but noo, they had to make him MODOK. Why.
 
I just wish that Fox voice retains shouting "FAIYA!" with his up special rather than "FIRE!". Looks like it won't be the case for the English versions going forward.

He's literally saying "EVERYONE, LOOK AT ME"

I'd kill for voice clips that didn't come from Melee
 
I tried to get him to show the Wii Fit Trainer lines, but she was ignored like in every other stream.

2 more fun things I got though:
-Lucina has a taunt "COME AT ME"
-Meta Knight has a taunt "COME"

So there's still plenty of opportunities to be immature with taunting!

I just wanted to hear them for myself, see if the VA's were okay, and maybe share any funny lines they might have. You don't need to go out of your way to get them, I mean we'll know within a few days anyway.
 
So I wanted to get into the game and not just play for fun and I checked the Smash wiki and a few similar sites but I am still getting lost with so much information.
Any suggestions for gradually getting into the game? I want to go through the basics first and then get into more advanced stuff. For now I mostly need some tips about movement and spacing and then something about getting into some basic combos and understanding how the whole system works.
 
I'm in agreement that Fox's new voice is absolutely horrible. Apparently it's Fox's original voice actor from Star Fox 64, but he sounds about a million times worse here than he did in that. Shame, really.

On a different topic, does anyone know what determines when Little Mac loses his KO Uppercut (really should've been the Star Punch but whatever)? I've seen him lose it after a certain amount of time passes where he hasn't used it yet. I've also seen him lose it when he gets hit, however, I also see him getting hit a few times and still keep it. Does it have to do with how hard he gets hit or his percentage or how many times or something?

The in-game tutorial is pretty good at explaining the basics.

Once you get that down everything else will start making sense with time.

Ganondorf's still being underrated, as he will be until people get confident enough to start regularly going off stage with him. Then he will become god.
Plus he's still guaranteed top tier if customs are allowed. He's going Meta Knight 2.0 baby.

Just keep playing against people as good or better than you and learn what they do, watch videos of how pros play your main, check out the smashboards board for your character.

The best is to just keep playing with someone who will completely body you every time and learn from it, as long as you're not one of those people that gives up incredibly easy.
 
So, seeing these lists of playable characters getting weird voices and everything.

Sonic has a SPANISH VOICE. (And I guess he also got a French/German/Whatevers) WHY

My order says guaranteed delivery by 8pm this friday, how trustworthy is amazon with that?
To their credit I ordered some toys for my dog that shipped today and I'll apparently be getting them tomorrow. Maybe I just have one of their warehouses nearby?

I had Hyrule Warriors guaranteed delivery. They didnt make it so they gave me £5 back.

My preorder for Smash still sitting not yet dispatched.

Nope. I refuse to believe.
Seriously, though, I feel like characters like Bowser Jr., Mario, and Samus are being drastically underestimated. The game hasn't even been released overseas yet, though, and I'm confident that this will all change once the majority of N/E users get their hands on Smash for 3DS.
 
The Assault voice actors have always been the best, so I vastly preferred Fox's Brawl voice. That being said though, I did grow up with SF64, so hearing Fox's old dorky voice in Smash is pretty awesome from a nostalgic point of viewpoint. I like it.

Oh and Falco's voice is just plain awesome like it always is. GET SOME

Sucks, in any case a friend and I have agreed to hit up a Gamestop Thursday night, I will be playing Smash on Friday one way or another.

Hell, if amazon is late and I get 5 back then I'll just return that copy to GS.
 
Like I get that it's early so take it with a grain of salt etc, etc, etc, but it definitely doesn't bode well for the characters that are ranked so low.

They must have clear, apparent flaws.

To be fair they emailed at like 6 in the morning so I just hit the shops and still got it day 1. Put the £5 towards fantasy life which im worryingly addicted to 2 days before Smash.

Eh, not necessarily. Strengths can always be found, and flaws only exist within the context of the metagame.

The characters at the top are the ones to be more worried about. It's harder to move down than it is to move up.

Don't mind too much about the tier list. It's still too early to say who's weak and who's strong, especially when things are still being discovered about each character's game.

Villager probably being low was due to his/her KO power at this point.
