Is there a demo available? I know there was one a few weeks ago for Nintendo superstars or whatever, but is there a demo an average dude like me can download? Does the demo let me play as Little Mac?

Yes, there's a demo on the eShop. You can't play as Little Mac though, only Mario, Link, Pikachu, Mega man and Villager.

All I know is even if I get it late it can't possibly be disastrous as my Brawl launch experience when I was met with;

Fucking dual layer discs man. After like three years of hype my teenage self was raaaagging.

My Melee and Brawl discs both succumbed to this fate from overplaying and some light scratching.

Maybe going digital will ensure I never meet that fate again.

Anyone else notice that the Nintendo games fall off the top page of the games list on Metacritic really fast?

Wonder if they aren't paying enough.

LA GAF, Game Force in LA might get it later later today or tomorrow.

Here's their number if you want to check in - (323) 293-0023

I will never buy from them ever again in my life. I walked in looking for Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix and sat there taking verbal insults for it. I encourage everyone to stay away from there.

Thing is, Brawl was brand new out of the box, and my Wii was less than a year old. Nintendo said you only had the problem if you smoked. Nobody in my house smoked. Had to buy a disc cleaner off eBay to play Brawl without constantly tilting my Wii at a 180 degree angle everytime the Wii loaded it up!

A friend of my roommate accidentally kicked my Wii over as she walked through our dorm room. Brawl was booted up at the time. I've never been more distressed by a disc read error.

what? wow, they seemed very nice on the phone. what happened, if I may ask? what a bunch of fucking pricks.

Sooo I'm probably going to cancel my amazon pre-order and go digital for that 11pm Thursday goodness. As someone who has never done digital before on 3ds do I need to get a new SD card or whatever or should there already be enough space?

If it is a 4 GB card, then you are fine because even with saves, you should have 3 GB left.

I wouldn't bet on bigger places like Walmart. As people have said above, the computer usually won't let them sell stuff early even if it's on the shelf.

I see, I'll keep crossing my fingers and try my luck again with Sears tomorrow. If not, then Thursday midnight release at Gamestop it is!

Ah, I fucking hate places like that. I've run into a few gaming stores with elitist attitudes and it's always such a turn off.

Lol things have changed since the Gamecube era, dinosaur stores like that on the brink of imminent irrelevance need to treat every customer like royalty.

It was during the Gamecube years obviously a long time ago with different employees I'm sure. It was enough of a negative impression though that I never buy from them ever. I look but never buy.

Me: Hey do you guys have DDR Mario Mix?

Employee: Nah we don't have that $#%&.

Me: ?!(I thought I heard wrong honestly)

Employee: DDR is for those Japanese people who can't dance and don't have rhythm. You seen that %$@& ? (2 other employees laugh.) They jump and down to that techno #$%@.(laughs)

Me: Dude, I'm trying to buy a product from your store and you're basically insulting me for it.

Employee: I'm just telling you like it is. Go up stairs to Game Stop, they'll tell you anything is good. (laughs)

Me: I see. (Walks out)

Not the exact words cause it was years ago but pretty much everything that was said. When he said "nah we don't have that ship" I was stunned. I couldn't believe any retailer would speak to me with that kind of tone and no other employee called him out on it. He straight up said DDR is for Japanese people with no rhythm and can't dance. Then said go upstairs to GS cause they'll tell me anything is good.

A part of me was absolutely furious but after he basically told me to go somewhere else I just thought "well there is no point in arguing or stating my peace, a guy like this isn't worth my time."

Speaking of retailers, lol at this Google Review for my local Gamestop:

What's worse than walking into a video game store? Getting terrible service by someone who works at a video game store. I was thinking about picking up a Wii for my family, and when I mentioned that I never played a video game in my life, the guy begins to give me a lecture on the whole gaming industry! I spent the next 10 minutes listening to gamer lingo. When I finally asked about a Wii, the guy said that I ignored me and started pushing me to buy a more expensive system. I just dropped the whole thing and walked out. Buyers beware: Gamestop has no respect for customers.

I must admit, though, the employees at that store are pushy as hell. You can't buy one game without them trying to get you to preorder a hundred other things and sign up for their rewards program or whatever. And then when you say no thanks, they do the whole "tsk tsk, you could have saved so much money if only you signed up" thing.

I get that it's their job to sell merchandise, but c'mon, man, I just want to buy a video game.

If anyone a place that is already selling it in South Florida, lemme know! Would make for a good distraction from all the studying. :l

So played my first Online-Mates (1vs1 Glory) and i everything works fluently. Lost the first three matches with Mario, what shocked me, since i played him in the demo for the last two weeks. But then i got the hang on it and won the next six matches in a row. I also rocked with Bowser and DK. Completely wracked a good Shiek-Player on his last stock with the Kong.

But playing the game this intensively against real human being, you begin to notice the limitation of the 3DS controls. There just don't feel perfect enough for the gameplay. It is still a lot of fun, but the game will be more enjoyable and comparative with GameCube Controllers on the WiiU.

Huh, I thought it was just gonna be the usual "lol Mario/Nintendo fan kiddie baby shit" insults. They got really specific insulting DDR and such.

Asked Amazon and they responded:

So, in theory, it should be dispatched tomorrow.

I'm sure the "contact the fulfilment centre" bit to be BS though.

This reminds me of the time with what happened to something else I pre-ordered from Amazon this year and I didn't get it on time... (aka it never went into the shipping state) and I made that pre-order months in advance, around the same amount of months I've had the 3DS version of Smash pre-ordered

I should maybe possibly consider contacting them tonight to make sure it ships on time so I can get it Friday at a reasonable hour or even get it this weekend at all.
