Looks like street dates are being broken all over Europe.

Yeah. Even if the employees don't know any better, the computer still probably won't let them sell it.
It is even worse when you know a game has come out and no one has it. FFX HD Vita was nowhere to be found. I am going to browse Weds. but my hopes are pretty low. Thursdays at 11 CST is when I am expecting it.

Slippy's definitely changed I know that much. Hate what they did to Wolf, especially as his Assault/Brawl voice was so completely different. In one way I'm glad Wolf was cut as they would have given him that stupid voice.

I actually looked this up and according to Star Fox Wiki who I assumed compared the credits between the original and 3D, only 4 VAs returned. Fox, Slippy, Katt and Leon have the same VAs but Slippy and Katt were voiced by the same person. The guy who voiced the announcer in the original returned as ROB64 in the remake. Some of these also voiced some of the bosses in both as well.

I've never had much luck with it, so I don't even try any more.

I'll be lucky if I can get a copy at midnight Friday morning. Apparently my local Gamestop isn't opening for it, so I'll probably still have to do some hunting.

I am going to chat and see if any store is doing a midnight release, but I have slim hopes. Gamestop confirmed the eShop version is going up on 9 Pacific Thursday night. So that is realistically the earliest I hope for it.

Amazon always ships my preorders the night before release day and they always come on time just fine.

I guess it depends on region then. Rephrase my past post to say "ship by 5 PM on Thursday" because then you have no chance.

Wow, awesome! Keep me updated then! :D
Haha sure thing, feel free to help also tho, I don't want to be calling too many times. 305 470 7800, that's the number, when the automate voice comes up just say 'Electronics' and then 'store', in order to talk directly to people on the store in the electronic section. If you actually end up doing it, act like a dumb customer lol, something like 'hey I'm calling about a game to see if you guys have it that just came out', don't act like you know a thing xD

If it has not shipped by Thursday, I would advice canceling it and going with Best Buy. Amazon has to ship it two days early to meet street date.

Thanks for the tip. This is the first time I've preordered something from Amazon so hearing your story has me freaked a little.
Hell, with my luck the package will be in shipping limbo till the 4th :(

I am not trying to freak you out. I just know I live in the southern coast line and had issues with Nintendo games in the past. I would say keep an eye and if it has not shipped by Thursday night, cancel and you have zero liability. Best Buy and Gamestop both do a good job stocking on the day of release.

Any other stores might be willing then? Like Sears from what another GAF member said?

Most major retailers will have the PoS restrict selling things before release, even if the employees make the mistake of putting the game out. Sears is in this weird limbo of being a major retailer and being a sham of a department store so they might work, but I wouldn't be surprised if you're still stopped at the register.

Your best bet is non-chain mom and pop stores, but Nintendo's cracking down hard on them after X&Y's fiasco from what I've heard.

This is why I don't try Amazon for something I'm really eager for. Even if they're perfectly reliable 22 times out of 23, there's always the chance that they'll screw up and get me something on October 4th at some point. I'd much rather take things into my own hands if expected plans go awry.

Again, I am going by the time I got Mk8 early and it was at a sears, people were clueless there and even put the game in the display, this was about 4 days before Mk8 released officially, so I'm just HOPING to strike gold again and I'm focusing on sears from now. As I mentioned before, the guy that I called and got the phone asked ME when the release date was and I was like 'today' and he was like 'oh so it should come on today's truck, call back later'

Pretty much. I was puzzled why Lego City Wii U took a whole month after release date to ship. Luckily I was not eager for it or anything. I never had issues with Sony games on Amazon or third party 3DS/Wii U games. It is just something about first party.

I'm getting second thoughts about my pre-order :x, Shadow of Mordor is stealing all my time atm (also enjoying Hyrule Warriors and got tons of other games on backlog) and everyone is saying this game will be obselete when the Wii-U version hits (which is probably right).

I kind of wished I hadn't spoiled so much of the game, would probably be alot more excited then. Or if the Wii-U version was farther apart.

Thanks! I'll make some calls then.

Playing the game here in
Catalunya
Spain!

It's GREAT. For now my favorite newcomer is Shulk AND Rosalina. Wii Fit Trainer has disappointed me :(

Maybe Amazon and Nintendo have some issue working together. For a while Amazon didn't sell 3DS hardware directly at all (might still not, don't know if they ever did/do sell Wii U hardware either).

I'll be sure to call then, thanks for the number!

I preordered Kirby Triple Deluxe with release date delivery on Amazon and actually got it a day early. It shipped on Wednesday and arrived the next day. Pleasantly surprised. Like a total juvenile, went on Miiverse at the stroke of midnight to gloat.
