I can dig that. Speaking of, I hope DKD isn't the only retro character this iteration of Smash will see. Ayumi Tachibana, Lip, or Takamaru would make for great retro choices.

Wasn't there always only 1 additional retro character per generation?
Melee had Mr. G&W, Brawl had R.O.B., this one has DHD.
One retro character per generation is enough.

EDIT: I welcome you to page 31!
Shame on you 50ppp heathens!!!

Eat your heart out, theprodigy :P

Well after doing a speedtest at my college I am definitely taking the 3DS to starbucks instead to download Smash.

Still gotta take the Wii U to college to get the Update because I doubt the type of connection from starbucks would work on the wii u

If they had enough staff completely, then we wouldn't have cut characters. We would also have more stages. Maybe of custom moves didn't exist, we coul have individual BTTs.

All of these maybe's mean they don't have infinite resources to do everything we want an even everything they want.

And if you think their staff increased exponentially in an equal manner to the amount of content they've worked on, then you're sadly misinformed.

There is literally nothing said by any Nintendo dev that would suggest that Sakurai would have put any and all extra staff towards bringing back cut characters.

If you wouldn't mind, please link me to the site where Sakurai (or any SSB dev) stated that they didn't add staff, or that custom moves magically prevented individual BtTs (an amazing feat for the staff members devoted to character-related development to somehow prevent staff working on something completely different from doing their jobs).

Absolutely not! I know it's been a while, but you have forgotten the Ice Climbers, characters dating all the way back to their first and only game in the mid 80's? Or Pit, whose last game before Brawl was on the Game Boy? :v

can I hate you? :p

btw, apparently Zelda/Sheik & Samus/ZSS split are because of 3DS limitation. I thought I read somewhere it's because of HD texture loading stuff or something like that is the cause.

Yeah, that's why there's no "transforming" characters, like Pokemon Trainer.

This game was "coded to the metal", so to speak. They really hit the wall of what they could do. Kind of a shame because it does actually affect the Wii U version (no Ice Climbers, for example).

Limitation or not, I think that decision is for the better. Especially in ZSS's case, but for all transforms really. Sometimes limits can lead to good things.

I much prefer no transformations. Gives them an extra move (down b) and for Samus, you don't have to worry about inputting that weird taunt combo to transform.

I think it worked out well for Zero Suit and Sheik but I wouldn't mind if Squirtle and Ivysaur came back in the next game.

I do wish they were back, and I love the idea of Pokemon Trainer's character... but as for actually playing, I'd much rather pick one of the three and play as them. If they were back I would hope it worked the same was as the Zelda and Samus.

I agree with you. I didn't really like Pokemon Trainer's mechanics either. Just noting the things that were affected by the 3DS limitations.

So wait, are the EU servers actually up now even though it's not officially released or are people still just playing on Japan servers?

The thing that sucks is that the Americas are the last timezones.

I guess my point wasn't clear.

I was saying they have finite resources with time, budget, and people. If they had more, we could have less cuts or more newcomers, more stages, more modes, more etc.

Maybe they could have put some of the resources in one thing to another thing is the point I'm trying to make.

And my point with the exponential increase in workload was that their staff didn't increase exponentially in an equal way. They obviously have more staff, but that increase is less than the workload increase.

How does the announce say Bowser Jr's name when he wins?

Does he say, "Bowser... Jr!" like how he said Koopa Jr. Because I want him to say it in the same way!
