Oh, I guess they switch it up. The one I saw was Marth vs. Shulk. It's not only 2. Last time for example it was Wii Fit Trainer/Little Mac vs Samus/Megaman IIRC.

Better than Brawl. Worse than Street Fighter 4. Stutter and high latency matches are common, but sometimes you get a good connection.so what's the verdict on the netcode?

You can't see latency on stream. It's usually either stutter or latency. Sometimes it's neither. Rarely both. People with English names are more likely to be low latency, high stutter. Japanese names are more likely to be high latency, low stutter. From what I've seen, this statement should be backwards: Good connection are common, but sometimes you get stutter and high latency connection.
But again, I only watch shofu and 9/10 of his matches are perfect.
Oh I now see what you are trying to say. Sorry for my misunderstood. You can't see latency on stream. It's usually either stutter or latency. Sometimes it's neither. Rarely both. Sounds just like SF4 to me.Better than Brawl. Worse than Street Fighter 4. Stutter and high latency matches are common, but sometimes you get a good connection.
My rematch with ZeRo
ZeRo is a fun opponent. The game stutters like crazy whenever I play him, but I'd rather play in that than latency.
Good game, you pretty much had him there at the beginning, just had problems finishing him offMy rematch with ZeRo

The in-game replay didn't save for some reason ;P
Is that legit the new box art?? If so my man shulk made it in!!Extended wii u boxart. Probably old.

I quite like the regular Tactician coat, but the Grandmaster uniform is kind of awful, especially the female variant. The moulded boobplate, unnecessary bare thighs / ugly loincloth, high heels and giant ribbon ruin it for me.
We need a new list or a thread specifically for J-Players. Then a separate list for the U.S. and Euro versions.
I'm going to be playing the game on both my systems.
Sheik needs a clone. All Top-tier characters need clones for the sake of aesthetic variety.

Yes.At what time will the North American version be available on the eShop? Hopefully it's at midnight EDT.
Looks like C.Falcon's side-B got some serious kill power love in this rendition.
Also, sort of unrelated, but how do you like hitbox.tv as a streamer?
I ran into that French guy again on For Glory.
Unfortunately it still looks to be the worst move in his arsenal, and customs don't really help. It would have been nice if he had at least gotten the Fox/Falco treatment and not go helpless after using it, even if you can't use it a second time.
Still better than Ike's side-B. T_T
who is Ike?
Really tempted to cancel my amazon order.
I'm normally against buying 3DS games digitally at retail price due to the way they handle your purchases, but this may be an exception to the rule.
This game probably won't leave my 3DS.

Also, I have a question regarding roster sizes: How many characters is too many?
As many as can be reasonably expected to fit given time and resource constraints; even if the number of characters alone isn't the primary concern, incremental growth will likely continue with each installment. The next game breaking 60 is to be expected, even with a couple of cuts / demotions.
is it now
I agree with the 60+ but I do wonder if Nintendo decided to give Sakurai or whoever makes the next one an open chequebook and as much time as needed what the final roster size would be.As many as can be reasonably expected to fit given time and resource constraints; even if the number of characters alone isn't the primary concern, incremental growth will likely continue with each installment. Do you cut it off at some point to make it less of a headache to balance or just go crazy?
This is my first stream, so I can't compare it to Twitch very well. But I do know that the chat delay is much less (10 seconds) and people have complimented the 60fps. Twitch might also mute my soundtrack.Looks like C.Falcon's side-B got some serious kill power love in this rendition.

I see the next Smash Bros pulling a Marvel vs Capcom 3 and rebooting the roster. We're at 51, excluding DLC. Even with the roster at its current size, I can't see them including only 9 newcomers.
I actually had a similar thought, except maybe not having an replacement announced a few months after the base game was released.I see the next Smash Bros pulling a Marvel vs Capcom 3 and rebooting the roster.

Considering the n3DS is actually coming out in November here (and I don't have much spending money at the moment) I think I might hold off until then and pick both up.

Isn't it 49?I see the next Smash Bros pulling a Marvel vs Capcom 3 and rebooting the roster.
You're assuming everybody currently on the roster will be back. That is not an assumption I would make. At some point, a fighting game can have too many characters![]()

48 + 3 Miis.Isn't it 49?
They always rework the engine and characters. This keeps it feeling fresh and distinct from predecessors. That becomes exponentially more costly as characters are added according to Sakurai. While there will definitely be cuts, (I don't see Lucina, Dark Pit or Dr. Mario making it back, for instance) I doubt they'd do anything so drastic as rebooting the roster - the depth and breadth of franchises represented are a crucial part of the series' appeal, and Brawl's engine scales well enough to HD, so I can see them carrying it and the corresponding assets over to the next game. With the combination of DLC and only requiring the development of a single initial version as opposed to SSB4's Wii U and 3DS incarnations, I think the roster can still grow from here without significant cuts.

They cut a ton of popular characters in Marvel and replaced them with a bunch of nobodies. There really isn't much to trim unless you start cutting people like Falco, and that wouldn't be popular at all (and Falco isn't really a hard character to add to the game).
Who would they even add that would require a reboot? At this point the roster for the next game will either be important side characters (like Rosalina, Palutena, etc), a new Pokemon and some random one offs. Not really enough unimplemented series and important characters to warrant a reboot.
I think 5 will have the least amount of new comers the series has ever had, so hopefully they go back and try and re-add everyone from the past games who were cut.
Cut Bowser and replace him with Foreman Spike. Replace Samus with Trace, Pikachu for EmolgaThey cut a ton of popular characters in Marvel and replaced them with a bunch of nobodies.
Cut Jigglypuff. Give Kirby's Rock a Rest hitbox. Replace Kirby Fair with Jigglypuff Fair. Bam!Cut Bowser and replace him with Foreman Spike. Replace Samus with Trace, Pikachu for Emolga
Mario, Kirby, Link and Captain Falcon only returning vets.
You see why this "reboot" wouldn't work? The entire reason people buy Smash is because it's a super fun crossover game and the novelty of fights like Mario vs Link is a huge selling point. Going to a Captain Rainbow style roster would kill sales.
