I heard someone say there is a Smash 3DS Demo poll on the Club Nintendo site, but I don't have it in NA. I have these:

* To-do list (3 eShop games)
* Thinking about these games?
* Purchased any new games?
* Download any new games?
* Got a new Nintendo gaming system?

None of those categories appear to have anything related to Smash, or a Smash demo, in any form. Anyone else know anything about this? I don't think I got my own demo code, just one someone gave me on GAF.

I got one, it said that they were only doing a handful of people.

I just checked and it is called a "Bonus Survey" and it expires tomorrow. It asks you questions on if the demo influenced your position on buying the game and if it improved your opinion of the game. It's 10 coins.

I got a code from someone on GAF, not the eShop version BUT it does ask you if you got the eShop version of the demo vs the Special version (Club Nintendo).

This reminds me I need to do a intend to buy survey for smash 3ds! Hope it's not too late.

Edit: goodbye bonus coins :(. Oh well atlease that smash survey was available lol

So I suppose it's safe for me now to collect on the "Ridley playable in Smash" avatar bets? Or are people holding out hope he's a WiiU exclusive? I mean, if it makes people feel better, I can wait until the hope has completely died.

If people are willing to give up right now. They can owe it up to you. Even I don't really care about Ridley but I'm not going to give up that easily.

Also Gaffer had a source that mention he saw moving models of Ridley, Dixie, Chorus Kids and Mewtwo when he was working on game localization for Europe.

I don't believe in this source but heck I'm going to use this to postpone your victory! It could meant Wii U/3DS connectivity unlockable or DLC

I was gonna complain about not seeing a survey but then I remembered I got my code from a friend. :P

5 more days until we start using Dark Pit to body haters online ;)

Does anyone else forget that Shulk is in the game some times?
I guess we're just not really feeling him

I don't forget, but it is still surreal and I'll continue to feel this way until the game is in my hands.
The last time I cared this much about a game was MvC3. It was surreal even when I had the game in my hands. Much like owning a new system, I woke up several days after wondering if it was all just a dream.

The roster was so good, and when they later added Phoenix Wright I was blown away, I wish I could find Ultimate MvC3 somewhere.

I must say, watching Ganondorf play is incredibly underwhelming. Maybe I just haven't seen the right player, but he feels like he's in the wrong game compared to some of these young whipper-snappers.

Not available in any of my local gamestops, only recently got an Xbox 360.
Amazon?

Is there any good way to use custom movesets on random? Like if I can only use Mega Man well with a specific custom move attached, can I make it so that he always has that custom when I get him on random?

I don't have the game so this is all from watching videos and reading other impressions. Not a whole lot of dedicated Wario players out there now so this is the best that I could get.
-New Forward Smash and Up Smash. Forward Smash is an enlarged backfist. A lot more range and power than his old FSmash, but has a really slow start up and doesn't have armor. New USmash is way better since DACUS is out. It's a headbutt that functions like Mario's USmash.
-His tilts in general are faster. FTilt has more knockback it seems, same for UTilt.
-Jab is faster, especially the second hit
-Down Smash is WAY better. He doesn't spin for like 5 years anymore. Way faster and more knockback
-Dash attack doesn't have as much endlag as in Brawl, and the tip of it actually trips. (Though following up with an attack seems pretty difficulty. Mostly good for tech chases I'm assuming)
-His fthrow (wild swing a ding) and bthrow (butt slam) in Brawl switched places now. Butt slam has a lot more knockback and can kill, whereas wild swing a ding isn't a kill throw anymore apparently.
-NAir has a new animation. Seems like it still functions the same though
-FAir has more range
-DAir is affected by gravity unfortunately. Short hop DAir doesn't auto cancel anymore? Still solid though
-BAir got more knockback now. Kills really early.
-UAir, on the other, has less knockback. Doesn't kill as early as in Brawl. Still seems like a good KO move though.
-Bite doesn't have insane priority anymore, but it eats pretty much most projectiles now. It's insane. Heard that eating projectiles can charge the waft faster too like eating items, but not really sure on that one.
-Corkscrew covers WAY more distance, and seems like a solid attack move now. Otherwise, nothing to write home about.
-Waft seems like it has a smaller hitbox, but still as good otherwise.

As for the bike...
The bike got both buffed and nerfed. It's less of a defensive move now though and more of a solid approach option and even a kill option.
-A lot faster in general, especially in the air. More knockback when it hits as well
-Is still a really good recovery move, if not even better because of the faster air speed
-Doing a wheelie doesn't slow you down anymore, and dropping the wheelie actually kills very early now if you hit with it.
-The bike has a hitbox even if you get off it.
-Wario moves a lot faster when holding the bike. Throws it faster too
-Can't grab wheels anymore when the bike breaks, though. But can eat the broken part for a whooping 1% health. lol
-Can't be dismounted instantly anymore.

-Much smoother animations
-A lot more expressive
-Taunts and victory animations (also the victory jingle) are the same
-HEAVILY NERFED IN TERMS COLORS ;__;
Wario_Palette_%28SSB4%29.png

Basically, he still seems like a very solid character with a lot of neat buffs across the board and a few, albeit hurtful, nerfs. A lot more well rounded since his ground options got buffed, but he still looks like he's the king of the air.
Can't wait to get my hands on the new Wario.

THIS!
We need more character analysis like this.

Smashwiki's page got nothing on this.

Well done Spinosaurus!

I had a dream last night that Sakurai said he was originally thinking of making Luma the new Mario rep and later decided to attach him to Rosalina.

Wow that is a long post read it all and WARIO looks to be even better in this than brawl! Thanks :D

WARIO here I come on Friday! :D

1. DACUS is still in.
2. Geez guys it was a good writeup by Spinosaurus but stop quoting a long post only to write a small comment.

So it seems that it's finally time for me to try to get into Smash Bros and not just play it for fun. I am quite into fighting games so I believe that it wouldn't be too hard to get used to most of the skills/techniques etc that can be used.

Any website suggestions (wikis, videos, anything) to check so that I can gradually go from basic to advanced stuff?
Also any links to any kind of import review / early impressions from fans that go into more details and aren't talking about basic things like most reviews usually?

The Smash Wiki is useful. Liquid also has their own wiki on competitive Smash that you can navigate (though I believe it's more for tournament results and tournaments in general, but I haven't looked at it since MLG/EVO this year).

Other than that...in terms of Smash or Melee, CosmoWright gives some good generalities here (but some stuff only applies to Melee). You could also, I suppose, check out the infamous Melee Advanced How to Play (which really goes over almost every advanced tech in Melee, like said for the Cosmo video some things in here are exclusive to Melee and are gone in Smash 4. BUT there are some crucial things that are still necessary to learn for Smash 4 so it doesn't hurt to link it to you).

This video goes over fundamentals of Melee, which can also apply to Smash 4 to some degree

I think that's about all I can think to link you to. There's no real content on the same level for Smash 4 yet (partly because it's only in Japan atm obviously) lol. SmashBoards has looooots of stuff but you have to dig through the forums to find what you're looking for and that isn't very easy given how old the forum is -- the Smash Wiki might be better in terms of reading information and finding things.

I doubt they would go with shorter cords. I'm actually hoping it is longer cause the optimal viewing distance is larger for HDTVs.

No idea why the new controller cords wouldn't be longer than the standard GC controller cords. Really doubt that shaving off an inch or two would save them enough money to justify it. It'll be fun to see the comparisons between the Smash GC controller and others as it'd be hilarious to find out the Smash ones are the least optimal GC controllers for Smash 4

It wouldn't be the first time, the white GCN controllers have worse triggers than the older models (according to most tournament-level Smash players). It's a "feel" difference, though -- like the way the triggers were made differ from how they used to make them in the older models.

I notice a difference, wouldn't say worst. The analog stick seems looser on the older models.

Worse to them, I mean. The "feel" difference can impact their techskill or how they perform certain things in the game, where if they had an older model it would be better for them.

I own a white GCN controller and it feels fine to me (then again I'm used to it by now and have broken it in). Buying a fresh GCN controller, especially a white one, when you owned an older model definitely can throw you off for awhile.
