Are people really complaining about shotguns? Come on now.

In close quarters prepare your favourite shotgun/hand cannon/fusion rifle. In wide open areas use weapons with decent to great range like auto rifles/scout rifles/sniper rifles. Keep adapting to the situation and you won't get frustrated.

As for supers, everyone gets to use them every once in a while so it's all fair game.

It's not. It's a complete waste of time.

Play the mode(s) you enjoy and you'll eventually reap the rewards.

False. I got 5 legendary and a shit ton of blues from the cave. Also ranked up a lot of Gilmore cards. You might not think it's fun or how you should play but there are some who enjoy it.

The big question will be if Destiny has enough staying power to warrant the constant tweaking and experimenting required to get it right. Heck, it took D3 over two years to finally get their loot system to a good spot, and some would argue that even now it's not balanced. Will anyone still be playing Destiny in two years?

Yes. Game is very very big and even though most people will inevitably move on there will still be a core fanbase that's still around.

Raid beaten!

Yep, that was great. My loot:

Good for you. I can't speak for others. I can only speak for myself, and so I did.

Also,

I couldn't care less about how much free time you waste doing activities that barely require your brain to be working.

Exotics and Legendaries don't do anything against me on the Crucible either, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A shrug is exactly the correct response to elitists who 'care' about how you get gear. Oh and in case you forgot this isn't SpaceChem. You're not exactly using your brain when you fire at a boss with high health either. Get over yourself.

Think we could possbly get a rading GAF clan together? I know we have the standard one(s), but there's so many. Might it be better to have a Raid GAF [RGAF] with users dedicated to doing the raid and possibly weekly Nightfall strikes?

Anybody have the Doctor Nope legendary AR? I just got it from a blue engram and I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading for use in the Crucible.

It has a crazy large magazine (72 rounds) and its RoF is maxed but its impact is minuscule. It's stability is subpar as well until halfway through the upgrade tree and then it gets a huge boost. Has anyone used it in PvP and can tell me whether it's worth it or not? It's my first legendary primary weapon.

Edit: Also has a really cool upgrade call "Glass Half Full" that gives bonus damage to the second half of the clip. Maybe that makes up for the low impact?

It is pretty sweet with regard to its super fast fire rate, and huge clip. However the recoil and low impact make shooting things from afar a very big chore. I had much higher success in the Crucible with a blue AR (I think the Shingen?).

I hope they add matchmaking to raids when they raise the level cap or something. Getting a high level strike is hard enough at my gaming hours (weekdays 7-10 am or so) let alone a raid group.

Man, you guys sure are defensive about your brainless farming.

I'm giving the guy my personal opinion on the best way to enjoy this game. I don't give a damn about how people get their gear.

Keep telling yourself that while I get Exotics and Legendaries for little time investment.

I've been at work and have my PS Vita setup absorbing the xp / items from the treasure cave as other people farm for me. Second time I've done it.

First time, got nothing. Second time, today, raised the Cryptarch by two levels already and have gotten an Exotic (Thunderlord) and a Legendary and 2 Ascendant Shards (something I want more than Legs).

It's all up to RNG if it's better, but tomorrow I get three-four (depends if I splurge on a weapon) more guaranteed Legendaries due to Marks as well, so.../shrug.

Don't take this the wrong way, but did you select the first upgrade? I made a bonehead move when I first started upgrading gear and thought I selected the first upgrade but did not. Then when I tried to open/purchase subsequent unlocks I thought it was broken when it didn't work. It looks like your first upgrade is in white, meaning it's available to unlock.

Yup, I THINK this may be it :-|

I'd join (Xbox). I'd love to do all of the hardest challenges.

Sequel will be out in two years. Bungie will eventually get it right. The series is meant to last for 10 years.

And your faux-arrogance about how you acquire gear in a mediocre game is laughable.

Do you understand words?

I'll try once more:

I'm giving the guy my personal opinion on the best way to enjoy this game. I don't give a damn about how people get their gear.

Guy asks: "Is it worth it?"

I answer, based on my personal opinion: "No. Enjoy the game by playing missions and such and you'll get gear eventually."

Why? damage numbers are normalized, it's why it's not uncommon for a sub level 10 player to wreck shop in crucible.

Damage is equal in the crucible. Higher levels will just get the little bonuses their weapons have over lower level ones. But you can still kill just as fast as they can. I've been in many lobbies where lower levels get the highest scores.

No it doesn't. Weapon damage is normalized.

However, the extra abilities aren't normalized such as reload speed, extra ammo, etc. Also fully leveled subclasses will be better off than a subclass that isn't fully leveled, as those abilities are still in play.

Can this be elaborated on a bit more? Sorry it's such a basic question, but I only tried Crucible last night for the first time at level 7. I was aware that certain modes, like Control, state that "level advantages are disabled" - but wanted clarification on that.

So my understanding from the quoted comments is that my basic weapons do the same damage as the rare/legendary/exotic weapons that I am up against? Weapon's Impact rating is what is normalized? But all the other specs of a weapon - reload speed, magazine size, stability, range - my basic weapon will remain outclassed in those aspects?

And what about the abilities and armor of the level 20-27 Guardians I am up against? Those level advantages are not disabled? Thanks.

Too bad the clan system is half assed and doesn't even exist in game for some dumb ass reason. Halo fucking 2 clans were infinitely better in basically every way possible.

I would be totally up for being a part of this. That being said, with the relatively poor clan support, would it do any good to create another subclan with that in mind? It would almost be just as efficient to create a separate google doc or sub thread (or something) of people who want to dedicate time to raid specifically. I've partnered with several people here for group content, but none of them have been part of my clan specifically.

Do you understand that I'm indicting you for acting arrogant about Vanilla WoW in Space and not indicting your weak-kneed edited-in defensive bullshit?

So you paid $60 to shoot into a virtual cave for hours on end. So what happens when you level up to wherever you're trying to get to? Do you then start to "play the game?" It's just so strange to me that someone would pay the money to do this and not even really play the game as it is intended to be played.

If you enjoy it, cool I guess. It's just really odd.

I would be down for this.

And your faux-arrogance about how you acquire gear in a mediocre game is laughable. Only elitists give a shit about who farms for gear in Destiny.

When I read your posts I feel like a cat that is being stroked the wrong way. I'm not sure if that's a compliment to you.

When do the marks reset exactly? Does anybody know??

Is anyone in need of a Warlock level 27 sunsinger or voidwalker?

All legs/exotics for equipment. Well aware of the strategy for final boss as well for the "outside" group of people.

I wanted to beat it this weekend, but both the time and the groups I got with didn't result in victory.

If anyone needs one more on PS4 tonight add me on PSN.

PSN ID: OutlawOcelot

Would be nice to have a Clan section in Roster. We still need to add people to list so what's the fucking point of joining a clan other than for the tag in-game? Pointless.
