GT: "Sunset Overdrive is my most anticipated XB1 game, period!"

My most anticipated game of the year by far.

Probably the most I've looked forward to playing a game since Halo 3 or JSRF.

Same here. I've been following the weekly videos since they started, and I can't wait to play. It looks like the same kind of magic that I felt when playing the early Ratchet and Clank games. So excited!

Funny to see the opinion of one member of GT being credited as the opinion of all of GT in the thread title. Also, seems like they messed up, because instead of the report the video is of their GT News show. :V

Anyway, I think the game looks like it could be a lot of fun. I did play the game at Gamescom, but what they had there was a co-op tower defense mode, which is something I'm not a fan of. It also seemed like there were some framerate problems, or at least some controller lag, which would be fine if the game didn't require you to move around all the time and have good reflexes.

This sums up a reason why a lot of platform exclusives get overhyped. You should be happy for the game, not the exclusive nature of it.

I'm hoping this does well because Insomniac is fucking awesome.

This. That whole quote you referenced just sounded gross, like pom pom waving cheerleader gross.. "Yeah, like it's totally like awesome that like this game is totally an XB1 exclusive, yeah! Go team XB1!"

Moco, you're better than that dude!

Anyhow, hopefully Insomniac delivers with that game. They were one of my favorite devs last gen., so hopefully, they can get back into form.

I'm having issue with the site, doesn't matter what video I try to watch it keeps loading "GTnews", more specifically the MS/mojang acquisition, ive tried to watch the GT countdown vids aswell, but all it loads is that GT news vid.

After Forza Horizon 2 releases, it's definitely my most anticipated XB1 title as well. Some strong exclusives for the system this year. Oh yeah, can't forget The Master Chief Collection as well.

Also my most anticipated game this fall. The original R&C on PS3 was one of my favorite games last generation and when I see this I'm reminded of that game specifically grinding along the pipes in the city at the beginning of the game.

This looks to amp the craziness right up there.

I am very much looking forward to this game. I hope that after FH2 is released they have a lot of media showcasing the game in October.

Same here.

Anyways, Dreamcast Blue Blue Skies + Insomniac

Best thing going right now.

I'm so glad MS allowed them to keep the IP in exchange for a level of exclusivity that could see sequels come to other consoles.

Good guy MS.

- Polygon: I played the first two hours of Sunset Overdrive and I liked it a lot
I played for two hours and was not bored for one single second. I cannot say if this extremeness of fun is sustainable for longer periods, but as a mission-by-mission fantasy world, the early game is varied and pleasing.
Controls take a bit of getting used to, and this mainly tutorial section taught me how to jump, swing, reverse and spin across all manner of traverse-able street furniture. Sunset Overdrive only seems to get annoyed with the player who insists on walking around on the ground. This is generally a bad idea and almost inevitably concludes with a pile-on of fat beasties.

I'm sure it will be good. It has potential to be great, but I'm keeping my expectations in check. Will buy anyway.

This game seems to just keep piling up the positive impressions. Glad they are getting this out there to the press early.

I've seen enough that I'll be pre-loading digital as soon as it's available.

X1 is definitely getting a couple of releases that look interesting, not picking one up this year but maybe around next summer I'll bite.

Game looks fun!

God damn, I cant get it to load the right video.
First some random game, then a review of disney infinity, now bonus round.
:(

The art style is really cool, but I have yet to see a mission from start to finish. Just sandbox gameplay. Objective-less gameplay just doesn't appeal to me.

Those videos show missions (previews onces too) - just not the whole thing. And the game takes place in a sandbox, random gameplay is to be expected.

Glad that some other links were posted, because Gametrailers need to fix their shit still.

Even if I'm not getting an XB1 this year yet still, it's the game I'm looking forward to seeing the most this year alongside with the MCC - but that I kind of discount since it's a collection. An amazing collection no doubt, but I gotta give Sunset Overdrive some shine as a brand new IP.

To be fair, it's not like there are many other XB1 only games to choose from to start with.

I've been finding recently that a quick look at the post history of people who make posts like this proves very enlightening.

This instance in particular.

Im just scared that this game is one of those "cool for about a week, then I never play it" games.

Its kinda why im in no hurry to buy it.

So far I'm more convinced on the multiplayer end than I am on the single player.

On the multiplayer videos you're shown clear objectives, you're show the beginning and end, you see basically everything involved. The OD come, you kill them until you have traps, rinse and repeat. No problem with that.

really looking forward to this. I have had an xbox one since the beginning of this year, but my friend will be picking up the white bundle. Glad to finally have someone else to play with online on there

The game just looks absolutely rad. The traversal, the freedom of movement mixed with some major customization looks to be a good time. And it's Insomniac, so the guns are going to really neat too.

I just hope that the enemy variety and mission structure are varied enough to make it feel right!
