I wanted to believe this was photoshopped, started to type it in and... jesus...

Camera's on cops. Every cop, every time they patrol.

It is 2014, shits like 30$.

That twitter is soul crushing.

A lot of cops want them, the problem is there's been public outcry about their privacy rights, they don't want to be filmed when cops are around and also, people are worried about sensitive situations cops deal with being recorded. But IMO all cops should have them it would be the best thing to protect both sides.

From a friend of a friend on facebook:

So all the FACTS are starting to dovetail. Hopefully ALL people will understand this was a thug-in-the-making, not some innocent 'child'! Hopefully ALL people will see the reality....the LEO. did NOT try to pull this man into the car...try and imagine pulling a 6'3", 300+ lb man through a window!! Undoubtedly there was a struggle in the car. It has been acknowledged that a shot was fired in the car....hence the assault on an officer. It has also been stated from the very beginning that the officer was treated at an ER for facial injuries, IMMEDIATELY after the shooting. All that remains is the autopsy results to show what angle the rounds hit this man. If they struck from the front, as the officer has stated from the beginning, as Brown taunted him and moved to rush him again...guess what....no charges

followed by another classy comment:

What happened to 'The Gentle Giant"?

Jesus christ, many of my fellow Americans are racist fucking idiots.

Is it possible the truth of what happened probably lies somewhere in between the two extremes. The shooting officer didn't know about the robbery/shoplifting, but Brown might not have known that and there might have a motive to either resist arrest or obstruct the officer if he thought he was going to get arrested and go to jail for the shoplifting/robbery. On the flip side, the shooting officer could have reacted really poorly during a physical altercation and used lethal force when non-lethal force would have sufficed. I don't know. I hate how with these things you always end up either having to be for or against two different version of events. I feel like in this case the only two sides you can choose right now are either the cop is a homicidal maniac who executed a young black kid for no reason or the racist side that believes the black kid committed a robbery so he must have done something to deserve being shot and killed. Isn't it entirely possible the truth lies somewhere in between? Shit like this takes a long time to investigate anyway. I will say how police handled the protesters and the media's coverage of the riots was an absolute shit show worthy of scorn.
The issue is, no matter how it played out, all of the accounts of how the remaining barrage of shots were delivered past the first two are pretty damning. You can make a mental case/explanation for most of what's going on using what we know, but then you get to the very end, and there's no reasonable explanation.

edit: f'n hell @ the latest updates, wtf!

Damn, and it really seemed like the situation had moved past this

I guess this is what happens when your blatantly obvious smear campaign blows up in your face. People are not happy

Pretty much. That was guaranteed to kill all of the goodwill between the police and community that was developed last night. We have all seen this before, and I imagine the community was just sick of it. Police protecting their own at the cost of justice and community respect and peace by blaming the victim and using racial stereotypes to do it. It is fucking disgusting.

What started first? Actual rioting or the cops coming back?

The way shit was going and the fact it came from Nixon to change how shit was going, there was presumably a riot/violent action, no reason for county or the heavily armed cops to come back otherwise unless someone's really fucking up.

No telling though. Not enough info out yet. And nothing on local news.

Police union etc was shitting all over the Governor for pulling St Louis PD out. Bet they have been hammering him all day and the Unions have too much power

The county cops never left, they just changed commanders. They have been waiting in the staging area the whole time.

Not sure why they came out tonight. Heard reports a dominos was set on fire.

Well clearly they are more than capable of keeping the peace.

Maybe they just want to give the American people one more example of the citizens being "fucking animals" by provoking them into committing crime.

The fact that they are back in the city so soon is a travesty.

How on earth would they think this is a good idea to bring those cops back and start firing tear gas and flash bombs?

Why why why why why

Hopefully this leads to some action being taken on the militarization of police forces and their apparent immunity to prosecution. The DOJ needs to really go to task on Ferguson and make an example of them. That was some shit I'd only have expected to see on the news of unstable autocracies of something. The police are on camera breaking laws and suppressing rights. It's all gotten way out of hand.
