I know it's not coming out until 2015 but we didn't see too much of MGS 4's other enviroments in its trailers apart from the first act. But yeah, they still have to show off MGO.

Seriously, with Bayonetta 2 almost upon us, I really hope Platinum's gearing up for Rising 2. They'll be working on Scalebound, of course, but those guys seem like they're always working around the clock on at least two games at once.
Yeah ... HOPEFULLY we'll get a new trailer in 2 months at GamesCom and another one at TGS in september. I got a feeling they will go all out now at those big events.
I personally think we'll see MGSV next year at E3. He tweeted "see you next year E3" but that could mean he's just a visitor. I want to be wrong but i think this game might take a little longer.
I mean they have to show Solid Snake voiced by David Hayter sometime before release amirite?
i don't think Kojima would keep this a secret for the players to find out.

You're right about the environments, They already showed off the jungle are back in 2011 in the FOX engine demo and we first saw the desert area on Kojima's twitter in like early 2012 so the've had like two and a half years since then for the art department to work on assets for other environments. We only saw the first act of MGS4 and the prologue (and a few doctored segments from the plant chapter) of MGS2 before they came out. We mostly only saw MGS3's jungle and besides the research facility those were the only major locations. Not to mention, I wouldn't expect any areas that aren't A) Historical Conflict Zones of the mid 80's and B) a Helicopter's distance from somewhere in the Indian Ocean between Oman and Pakistan. I wouldn't expect much more than Afghanistan and Africa honestly.
Reguarding MGO, I hate to break it to you but I'm pretty confident it's going to be something like Red Dead Redemption where small sections of the open-world map are isolated and turned into multiplayer maps. For example, imagine the abandoned town in the gameplay presentation as a multiplayer arena. If they do it that way, all they need is a system for customizing clothing (easy enough with all their 3D scanning tech), netcode and a few months of gameplay balancing and it's basically done.
90% of MGS fans won't be butt hurt if they can play as a younger Solid Snake voiced by David Hayter.
Well for example the MGS4 launch trailer showed plenty of locations from all Acts. and the MGS3 E3 and TGS trailers spoiled a shitload of the game too.
The new MGO will be heavily focused on the mother base stuff. Like Sean said, players will be able to attack other players and steal their stuff etc.

Obviously what i mean when i say he voices Solid Snake is that a timeskip happenes somewhere in the game. First we see Liquid = Eli and David = Solid as kids (around 12 years old).

Yeah no doubt I simplified it but what I'm getting at is I think it will be less of a separate, fully fleshed out multiplayer that's almost it's own game (Like MGO2, Portal 2 or COD/Battlefield multiplayer modes relative to their Singeplayer campaigns) but more of a tacked-on multiplayer that re-uses most of the assets from the single-player campaign. (like Red Dead Redemption for one example.)
I'm not saying that that's a bad thing, honestly that's how it should be done for MGO3; the best maps in MGO2 where the ones ripped straight from the single-player campaign. Just give us MGSV's areas and gameplay but with some weapon/ability balancing and better netcode than MGO2 and I think everyone would be happy.
Fair enough. What do you make of the fact that the two confirmed areas the game takes place in (Africa, Afghanistan) are near or in the same places that MG1 and MG2 took place in? (Outer Heaven in Africa, Zanzibarland in the Middle-East...)

We will get foundation of Outer Haven, and we will see downfall of Big Boss. That does not mean that we will get family picnic with all cloned kids.
The best chance of seeing Solid will be in some cinematic, where Eva will tell BB about LET project. I can see Kojima again using real life footage and images, fetuses, pregnant Eva, small babies, scientists, etc...

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic but I think this is excatly what he would do. IIRC Big Boss being in MGS 4 wasn't leaked beforehand was it? If he's in it then I doubt they'd explicitly show him in a trailer.
It makes me wonder what Kojima means by saying he wants a MGS 2 like twist, maybe like Dan Dawkins said in his video, this is all setup by Cipher to test AI or something.

I used to think that i would be able to just get used to the insane pop in, in GZ, but seriously it just hurts my eyes nowdays lol. Its really really bad... things pop out just a few meters ahead of you... at least they should try and increase the distance the effects happens... as it is now it just cant be ignored...

Funny enough, in MGS4's intro when listing the cast Richard Doyle's name comes up. Right at the start, by the time the scene even happens, you've long forgot that Richard Doyle's name even appeared at the start. Kojima just trolling you to your face.
As an aside, I still think Doyle is the best Big Boss.

I'm not saying I think Solid will be in TPP; I don't. There's no reason to think he'd be anywhere near Africa or Afghanistan at this point in the timeline... Maybe we'll see pictures of him, or a video, or an unlockable tape... But not face-to-face, no way. Solidus, on the other hand, would have been active in Africa around this time so perhaps we'll see him.
What I was trying to get at is I think from a business perspective, maybe Konami/KojiPro was thinking that they could make the first game set in Africa and the Middle East... and then make that MG1/MG2 remake that everyone wants afterwards, using assets from the last game. Given the moneygrab that Ground Zeroes was, the redundant legacy collection and the awful DLC they forced into Rising, I think this sounds exactly like something Konami would do nowadays.

So when i finished the game and the credits rolled i was like "hm, ok but where the hell is Big Boss"? "there must be some after credits scene"... It really ruined the ending for me.
Well i personally get the feeling that he wants to reveal something big like this at a big event such a TGS where people will be cheering their hearts out over this.

Man, any possible interaction between Miller and Eli (if he is indeed Liquid) is going to seem super ironic if you know what happens in MGS1.

In my opinion the development of the game is coming along nicely but they are far from finished. They showed the game at e3 confidently and gz was surprisingly solid, but I bet the earliest release date we will get is october 2015. Then we will have to see if it gets delayed. Didn't mgs4 slipped two release dates?

Ha! Yeah, me too. But I do think the original Metal Gear games will be "rebooted" through MGSV. It would, of course, retcon Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 almost entirely, but I think it's the most likely way the series comes full circle. In the past, Hideo has always said that "Solid" stood for the 3D graphics. I'm pretty sure after MGSV, he'll say that Solid is it's own series and a majority of the original MSX titles' canon is not a part of the Metal Gear Solid canon. This is how I see it happening, but it's possible (likely, even) that I'm completely off base. We shall see!

I wouldn't mind too much if they teased a location, but when it comes to a return of a big character I would like to be surprised. Then again, I'm weak when it comes to spoilers so if anything gets leaked I'd read about it.
I'm still hoping for an early 2015 release like the Konami site said.
