Actually Blimblim gave really appreciated high bite rates video for Kill Zone, i think Drive Club is not the only one. It's the sake of any game with great graphic expectations.

It was those high-bitrate videos of Killzone that made me realize the game would look even better than the reveal. And it did. Can't wait to be mindfucked all over again by Driveclub.
 
I know people are being good humoured about this but Sony need to get their act together, and quickly. If they're not careful they're going to lose all the momentum they've garnered in the last 5 months. The PR on this game has been a disaster, but it doesn't just stop and end with this game. The whole 60fps Watchdog 'mistake' and the recent bad reviews of Borderlands on the Vita coupled with this inexplicable delay in yet ANOTHER video showcase is coming together to create a negative narrative that is currently doing the rounds on N4Gs and other sites. If they don't sort this out and pronto, the wheels could very well fall off this train entirely and sour any reveals at E3.

They're handing ante Sony sites fresh ammunition and it's going to be used to try and stop the momentum of PS4 sales. I've already seen many articles about the 'microtransactions' in this game, which was preceded by many articles about the whole PS+ edition controversy. There is always going to be some bad news about a console, that's inevitable, but it needs balancing out with positives. Here we are with the perfect opportunity to balance the negativity today and here we are waiting yet again.

Exactly... What the heck 'we were out of action' even means? Again this is like some kids handling the PR and not a real company. My real beef is that why would you release shitty quality videos before and then release the HQ later? What does your game gain by doing that? Is it just to silence the internets that keep asking for some new footage? Come on now. Evo I love you guys but get your shit together.

I...have had a different experience? Part of the whole conversation about how to promote games this gen has been the difficulty of showing off the graphic fidelity in games when the way most games are seen in advertising can't keep up. The joke of 1080p youtube on what amounts to the same bandwidth as lower resolution feeds.
 
I know that this isn't entirely on evo, it just adds to the saga though... This will certainly be Evo's last retail game.
 
I'd rather these guys kept quiet instead of promising to deliver things a certain time and failing time and time again.
Not the first time this has happened either.
 
i've never seen a company who is working on like a 40 million dollar game or some shit have so much trouble releasing a few goddamn HQ clips. How hard is this? Seriously? One may say gamers are overreacting, but how hard is that?

I'm sorry if it came off like I knew anything concrete, I'm just speculating. It's really been a long time coming for evo. Sure they've had some bad luck, but they've also dropped the ball themselves on more than one occasion.
 
I keep getting the feeling that this game is coming in extremely hot and the devs are scrambling to meet the deadline even though it's months away... Let's hope they're doing more polishing than getting features working correctly.
 
So.....many of you are super mad because they didn't get the downloadable uncompressed version of the trailer out today like they said so we might have to wait another day or two?

I envy your lives if that is something worth getting upset about.

The location marker is in London, but their studio is in Runcorn(?) or somewhere between Liverpool and Manchester.

Unless he commutes everyday, he was out of the office. I think he purposefully added the location, any SCEE office around there?
 
I'm sorry, but being unable to even upload uncompressed videos in a timely manner not only doesn't look professional at all, but it also makes it completely unsurprising that this studio can't even get the game finished.

I totally agree. So much nonsense. If they're going to do it then just do the damn thing right.
 
Man, hopefully this thread will be mined one day for parody - given the context is the (potentially 24 hour long) delay of a HQ version of an already released video, the vitriol in some of these responses is just mind boggling. Yes, Evo are generally fuck ups. No, it's really not a big deal in any way, and in no way should make anyone upset.

It won't be, it's not the fact they got this wrong, it's the fact that they got this wrong on top of everything else. They started by delaying the game, then they delayed the announcement of the release date, then they delayed the anouncement again of the release date, then they delayed the release of just releasing a higher quality version of something that's already been released... it's a joke.

This is my point - it should just be funny, not making people upset. We have a firm release date (that is a waaaays off), why is this 24 hours pissing people off so much? Evo are goofballs, we know this cuz they've demonstrated it repeatedly. But we also know they'll turn out a great game.

Their extreme incompetence is only funny in a haha wow this company is terrible. Why should we have any faith in their product, if they can't keep a deadline on something so simple, let alone quality control. Things must be a disaster for it to have gone this wrong.
 
looks really good but I'm sort of not impressed...as odd as that sounds !?

Perhaps its diminishing returns setting in for me.

I'm pretty sure most people just find it amusingly inept. Those that are legitimately upset need more drama in their lives.
 
When the PS4 was announced it really felt like they'd turned the company around. Sadly we've been fooled, and they're still employing muppets instead of professionals. Wonder when I'll get my credit card information stolen again?

People take things differently. Simply because you don't find it an issue doesn't mean others can't. And recently, when it seemed like they were finally getting things in order (in terms of actually getting media out for the game), people basically went:

"okay, let's take this again from here, now you're releasing some information consistently, there's a steady stream of videos coming out now, even though something like this was promised to us months ago it's finally happening" and then they promise a video release on a certain day and time, and it getting delayed with a vague excuse as to why it's not up at the promised time, makes perfect sense why some people would be upset.

I personally, had forgotten about it until I saw this thread bumped today, even though I like my graphics, I could tell how great the game looks from the youtube video (despite all the compression). Of course I'd love to see a video that is properly representative of how the graphics are for the game, but it's not a make it or break it for me.

Because the two are completely unrelated. Completely and totally unrelated. I'm still unnerved by some of you thinking Evolution is a publisher.
 
I can only imagine people in the game industry on this forum looking at the posts in here and shaking their heads in disgust. Some of you need to take a step outside and breathe.
 
After watching these videos I can honestly say I'm not hyped anymore.
Lastgen Grid Motorsport excites me more than Driveclub, specially because the AI in DC seems to be racing on rails. That's extremely disappointing.

Bummer.
 
I don't know why you guys are mad at evolution. You should be mad at yourselves. When you see an Evolution developer talking about putting up any trailer, you should immediately know there is no trailer.

In a vacuum it might seem like an overreaction but considering how soony has been communicating with the potential fanbase for driveclub,it's easy to see how YET ANOTHER DELAY of information is not being welcomed with open arms...
