Its pretty encouraging the production value still looked consistent after 4 eps, next episode also looked great in preview. Now I will just waiting for the more juicy part, and I still want a little bit faster pace though. do we even pass the first volume by now?

There were some wonky shots in this episode, but overall it was pretty neat.

I like how a good thirty percent of Kakyoin's dialogue is dropping neat facts about the area they're in.

One side comment - I didn't notice the censorship, hehe.

Oh, and I wonder how hard this episode was to publish given the recent Malaysian Airlines incident? D:

Vol. 1 was passed as soon as the old geezer's tounge was shown.

The true secret of Part 3 is that it's actually a tour guide for travelling through Asia and Africa.
The expedition gimmick is the thing that I really like from Part 3, hope they can nail the sense of adventure.

Cool, still feel a bit slow if they wanted to cover 7,5 volume or so if my prediction about the stopping point is true.

I'm pretty satisfied with this episode the censoring was a little jarring but aside from that it was a pretty fun episode. I was honestly confused the episode had ended because it had just refused to slow down I thought I was only 3/4ths of the way into it.

I hope the censorship doesn't go too far. Some of the fights get really gruesome. I don't want someone's entire body to become a giant black blob or something.

Nod nod nod nod.

I suppose this is as good an indication as any of how the entire series is going to be paced. For those who aren't really fond of monster-of-the-week stuff, Stardust Crusaders probably won't be a particularly enjoyable arc overall. It's nice for fans of the manga that they're adapting the series faithfully though. Personally I'm okay with a slower pacing and monster-of-the-week stuff as long as they can keep the content interesting in animated form. So hopefully the action is kept exciting (and animated). The introduction for Silver Chariot was pretty cool. Looking forward to the full fight next week. :D

I guess the censorship in this episode would have mainly been: the nudity at the beginning, the tongues being removed and the old man talking without his tongue? I was fine with it until that point, but that black void was rather distracting.

They beat him up so badly, the only thing left is a black censorship void!

The OVAs were a HORRIBLE adaptation though. Yoy may argue that they were awesome despite that, but there is plenty of reason to go back to part 3.

The OVAs were great in the sense of seeing the
D'Arby "fight"
animated, but otherwise they were just awful.

From the manga, without the black void:

A quick look at Crunchyroll, it looks like they removed the censorship from the first season, are they going to update this season's episodes when the dvds are released?

Yes, a lot holes in the ovas, but awesome is still awesome. I don't mind them retreading this at all. Just thought it was a strange decisions since there is so much more material they could be doing like series 4.

I thought people were joking that everyone would be getting a spirit animal but wow, I guess not, two in one episode even :/

Much liked the second half better than the place scene, simply for its change of location that seemed fresh and bright and
new character looks like he could be really compelling. Hoping he pulls a Kakyoin and joins their crew and doesnt stay an antagonist. Could really get behind him
.

Jules Verne reference did make me smile, one of my favorite storytellers and to see him referenced in a modern anime made me glad. Hopefully it inspired folks to read the works, and ultimately, I hope much inspiration was taken from it on their journey to Egypt. I wouldnt mind if they stopped in lots of places along the way.

The full version of Stand Proud has definitely made the song grow on me. OP is now sufficiently hype.

Another good episode. The black voids were a tad distracting, but it was ridiculous when the old man reappeared in the cockpit (and funny, much like bleeping a swear). I'm liking the crew so far; the personalities make for a fun mix, and I'm also glad to see people other than Jotaro fighting. I'm eager to see what Polnareff will bring to the table (other than fire) in his fight
and as a member of the crew.

Maybe Kakyoin made false splashes that are actually made of squishy.

So next week we'll know if they use Eiffel.

So why didn't they just book a private flight? They could possibly got a propeller cargo plane and let Jonathan pilot it. Makes no sense whatsoever to not fly.

"You might punch a hole in the plane!"

"Emerald splassssshhhhhh"

Wut... Can't those things also puncture shit?

Also this bugged the hell out of me.

Seems the days of motion comics is behind us. I'm not really digging this season that much so far but it's entertaining still.

I've always assumed that Emerald Splash was a crystallization of the liquid that comes out from Heirophant Green, and that those emeralds can easily be liquefied as they can hardened.

At least that was what I told myself back when I first read the manga. Honestly, Araki probably just winged it.

It's just an excuse for Kakyoin to show off Heirophant Green, it's not wise to read into the small inconsistencies in JoJo. Araki doesn't really care too much about consistency. His strength in writing is the interesting battles and characters. You should probably get used to that now because it gets much more severe later on.

It does if they don't want risk another plane crash.

At least on a boat, the worst that could happen is the boat sinks. Which is bad, but they can try swimming for a while.

Great episode, but the censorship was really apparent. I get why it's censored, but it was distracting to me!

They don't want being defenseless again against stand attack, this time they survive but even so the plane still crashed, lord know what could happen next.. at least this one is make sense IMO.

Yup.

He probably can make it disappear as soon it miss the target or after certain distance, kinda like bullet in old FPS game.

Or, like everyone said, Araki effect.

Edit: i just check out the manga again, it seem the stone turn into liquid as soon it hit the cabin.

Judging by this episode, I'd say you should be relatively concerned considering how excessive it was. This also reminds me that censorship is really, really dumb and Japan should just get over it.

*list of stuff
You're thinking way to hard about the logic of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure! You're just wasting energy!

No they were pretty good overall, leaning more towards 'great' in the second half of series. Genuinely worth tracking down.

I can't wait to see Polnareff's pose next episode, it's going to be so fabulous.

Also, something interesting. I don't believe the scene where Jotaro and the gang were talking at the street-side shop was in the manga. It just cuts from them getting rescued from the plane to them at the restaurant, with the dialogue about them not using planes over far shots of the city. It was a small change but an interesting one. I don't think it's a later scene moved up either, though I could be wrong.

Everyone's speaking Japanese.

Don't ask me how the french guy conveniently knows japanese but not chinese.

Joseph probably learned it when Holly learned it. Easier to learn a language with multiple people trying to do it and he would have needed it to visit the other side of his family with his daughter marrying into a Japanese family

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Stardust Crusaders 1-4

Nice to see the show is actually animated this time around.

Not sure how
Dio getting an extra coffin somehow
or
Kakyoin naming Hierophant Green before knowing about Abdul's naming scheme
makes sense.

So next week we'll know if they use Eiffel.
?
It's written Polnareff in the ending so why would they use Eiffel?

makes sense.

I don't how it doesn't make sense. Abdul only named the stands of his allies. All Dio's henchmen (Kakyoin included) already had stands before meeting the crew so it's safe to say that another person named them.

First two episodes were really quite boring as a fan of the manga but the last two episodes after that I've actually enjoyed. I might actually end up liking one of the least interesting group of protagonists in a Jojo part after this.
