PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

It's taken me about an hour to download all this ridge racer DLC.
They give you a shitload of music.

i have my copy of dan dangropa sitting there, I guesss I will give it a try today

fuck that last P3P boss. needed one more hit to beat him and the fucker crits me. not gonna bother and play one hour again just to get fucked up at the very end again. will watch the ending on youtube and consider this fucker beaten. damn.

So now that my Ridge Racer Vita has 83 music tracks in it... which one is the dope menu theme?
The Menu music is GREAT! But I've been googling and I can't find out what song it is.

Who are you and what have you done with Takao's Medabots?

I have seen the light

Lol, clearly indie devs disagree :)
Man, sometimes I really wonder how the hell sony convinced indie to release their games for vita. It's no secret that vita hardware sales are really struggling in the west, it sell kinda decent in japan, but the japan userbase probably didn't buy many western indie games. So the potential customer for these indies are maybe even smaller than the total vita hardware number out there.

Sony seem to be pushing indies as a whole, regardless of platform. That, and a Vita owner with no big releases from third parties and Sony themselves every month is much more likely to look towards a less-promoted indie title.

What the hell is that?

What the hell

No, not "hell".... HEAVEN. Playstation Vita Gaming Heaven.
Not really. The link is a 2012 video/event, for those that may not remember. TBH, I'd love another one of those right about now.

EDIT:^ Whoa, had just watched that video again, and the only thing I haven't heard about was "Project Discovery" (3 mins 38 seconds in). Was supposed to be a project by Kadokawa Games. Anyone know what that was about? Did whatever they were working on get released?

W-what? He once said that he contacted Sony regarding a Vita port. Now he changed his mind? Booooooo!!!
*downvote on Steam greenlight*
Actually no, I want my Steam key

I don't know why you guys care.

He doesn't want our money - ok that's his problem we got dozens of other indie games to choose from.

Because I want to play this game. Toma is raving about it a lot and it looks cool.
I already own it on PC but like all the other indies, I would rather play it on Vita.

Honestly, I don't have a clue why his comments regarding the profitability are so different from what we have heard before and are seeing right now with all the indie announcements.

Outside of Brian Proviciano (who released his game before the flood) do we really have an indication of how indie games are selling on Vita?

Mike Bithell has talked about how well Thomas Was Alone did on PSN a lot, especially about how good PS+ was for him, he was on a morning show with Klepek not too long ago talking as discreetly as NDAs allow for that kind of stuff.

I think the fact that his next game is coming out on as a PS4 and Vita exclusive first before PC and other systems would be an indication.

I remember Ripstone releasing DLC for Big Sky Infinity and giving it to people who already bought the game, free, to celebrate 250k+ sold. That was maybe February or March 2013.

That's PSN as a whole though, I was referring to just Vita.

Folks,

Please tweet @eastasiasoft with the hashtag #SoldnerXVita to help them with their consideration whether to bring the game to Vita! :D

come on peeps!
DONE.
Do this people. Soldner-X 2 is a very solid shmup. Having it on Vita with solid 60fps framerate would be an instant buy from me.
I actually always skipped over this game when I was younger....and my lord I really was a dumb kid...this game looks incredible...Vita doesn't have the best shmup lineup, and this would really scratch that proverbial itch.

I'm waiting for an Indie dev to make a bullet hell/shmup with a vertical orientation. Hell, I'd even be relatively ok with the iOS versions of DoDonPachi, with the touch controls and everything. For some reason I've always enjoyed games that eschew the traditional handheld style - Ninja Gaiden DS, mini games in LBPVita, uh..that one pinball game for Vita that doesn't have authentic tables, but lets you play vertically :D

can't add funds on sony website. can' access psn on ps4.

SONY IS PREVENTING ME TO SPEND MONEY
I almost with this was the case for me. Realizing a lapse in PSN purchases (over a week with nothing bought!) I felt compelled to go shopping today. Freebies of Remember Me and MNRVita were acquired...but then so was Persona 2, Open Me, Flow, Ni No Kuni, and GTA: Vice City.

And good lord, I somewhat feel all you Ridge Racer fans pain....Open Me has all of it split up? Maaaan guess this one will be dl'ed through the PStriple..only 12 parts, but still -_-

For a split second, I got a little excited, until I realized it was last year. Yea. I really enjoyed the game, though the "randomness" started to fade away into a similar pattern, but damn I still really enjoyed that game. I remember first seeing it, and I thought it looked dumb as hell, mainly because the bullets you shot were either big, or small, and thats it. Never had the pleasure of playing multiplayer on PS3, I could imagine the craziness that would ensue. Game made me crack up many mnay times at all the little "inside jokes" it had.

Update for anyone interested in/cares about Vitas from CowBoom.

I ordered a Grade 7 late Monday night. I used the free shipping method (7-10 business days) and it arrived today.

It came in the original box (box was 100% undamaged) with all the cables and the owners manual. The owners manual was still sealed in unopened factory plastic.

The Vita was flawless. No scratches, smudges or fingerprints. It powered up right away and is beautiful.

I'm not even sure it was ever taken out of the box in the first place.

System updated and I'm now downloading PS+ titles.

Quick question - any accessories you guys suggest as being must haves? Grips, screen protectors, etc?

At the very least, I'd get a protector for the back touchscreen, since it's very sensitive to being scratched. You can probably get away with cheaping out on it, since it's not something you'll be looking at (unlike the front, where you probably want a protector that doesn't look greasy).

Big Sky Infinity was great. One of the most underrated games on Vita. I like it more than Super Stardust Delta. It was my go to score attack game for a long time. I think the game was better before it was patched though. The patch severely toned down the frequency of the voice. I'm guessing they did that because it annoyed people? I loved it. It was funny. It was cool how the patch added new content to the game for free though.

NieR is good brah!
Nier is a horrible game. The combat is stale, the story is thin, the world/map layout is pretty confusing. And almost worst of all, I'm pretty sure God of War 2 looks better than it does. Probably just not gonna play it anymore because it's so boring.
Oh right, February has 28 days.
I keep playing some imaginary Lumines game in my mind, and I'm still terrible at it. Going to stay away from Lumines for the next few days.
In my mind games, I always end up making damn towers. Columns of 2-9-0-9-2 or so. Which leaves me with random spikes of varying length all over the field. And then those damn

Blocks just kill me every time.
Look here, Kappa.

Thanks. I'll make sure to get front/back screen protectors.

Nice find! I have yet to get any accessories for my PSV, I wish I had plunked for a screen protector though, I should still go do that. Did they make a Zagg for the Vita?

I actually really like that game. Maybe my 3rd most played Vita game behind Pinball Arcade & Zen Pinball 2. Never deleting it.

It does look really simple, but does the job and is really addictive and easy to play when too much is on your mind to play something more substantial. It does seem to not have enough surprises after awhile, but I still dig it. I got Really Big Sky cheap on Steam, it's different enough to warrant playing, but still more of the same good formula.

"Snaaaaaaake!"
