PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

I downloaded the free to play Dream Club "game" from the Japanese PSN on my PS4, but when I switch to my main account it won't even let me start the game. I swear you could download stuff from other regions on PS3 and play them on different accounts on the same console. Am I remembering incorrectly?

I was waiting for Monster Monpiece...

Dammit.

On the bright side, I just read that the Asian R3 version with Japanese Voices/Chinese subtitles will get a physical release for both FFX and X-2 end of next week. So that's cool. I am thinking of getting ther version instead for the Japanese voices.

IT'S FREE TO PLAY?

HOLY FUCK

It needs a bluemaxima quicklook video, VanWinkle. Based off the trailers, I'm not feeling it. And after dropping $6 on Japanese Tomba! 2, I'm not in a buying mood. :P

Didn't recognize you at first with your new avatar. But, hey, I don't blame you at all. I just think it's a price where, even if you didn't LOVE it, it's still not a huge deal.

Oh wow. Just woke up to the news of Irrational Games shutting down. Goodbye Bioshock Vita dreams.

Not that I think Bioshock Vita is ever going to exist, but I don't see how Irrational closing has anything to do with Bioshock Vita. Levine himself said multiple times that an outside developer would have to make it, and it's foolish to think Bioshock dies with Irrational.

Even if Irrational were still around I doubt they'd have been the ones to port it to Vita.
But isn't Ken Levine one of the main propagator / proponent of Bioshock. Surely, they would be in contact with the porting devs somehow, right? The dream is dead.
Don't worry, it will be announced alongside ZoE HD and the US release of lord of apocalypse

Thank Godness for that! I'll add that to my order of the last remnant for my PS3.

I can't get street fighter X Tekken to download. I've purchased it off the store for the vita and now I go back to my live area and I click on notifications and it just says that it's waiting to download and it won't download for some reason. What am I doing wrong?

I think 2K games owns the BioShock IP, so it has nothing to do with Ken or Irrational, from what I've seen in the SteamGAF thread.

I'm having a hell of time with SFxT right now. I'm assuming online matches are only this easy because of the recent influx of PS+ peeps? Bwahaha. Oh well, I'll take it as it comes. The fidelity of this port is impressive. Only thing I'm not keen on is the beating that's required of the buttons and dpad.

About 4 you can't deny that a character that has lots of long combos is harder to learn than one without them right?
Not exactly. For one, I'd argue that the majority of the cast in MvC3 is easier to learn, even execution-wise, than any one character in ST.

About 1 i think it's bad because a thing about fighting games that i really liked was to search for each single opening to take advantage of for a single hit or few more, they had some strategy and tension involved, certain matches could have been "long"(by fighting game standards), with combo-centric games 4 or 5 openings are enough to end a match using combos, it's not the same.
It's funny that you've been bringing up ST as an example, then, because that's probably the highest damage game that people play seriously.

They are both from tournament finals, so i guess players are good enough right?
In the Street Fighter 2 one you can see Guile using the Sonic Boom to get an opening and Mr. Bison being prudent just jumping to avoid it and other search for opening and prudence situations, in the Blazblue one instead players just spam combos hoping to hit, even if the the opponent is using a guard the combo continues so even if the player doesn't hit he is relatively safe and he can even stop the combo if the character risks to open.
In combo-centric games the strategy component seems to less important while the luck has a bigger influence imo.
I think you're seriously misunderstanding what you see on the screen if that's the conclusion you're drawing from watching a BlazBlue set.

Admittedly, more actions happening does introduce greater variance, but that doesn't make the game is dependent on luck - and that doesn't have anything to do with combos, anyway.

(By the way, blockstrings existed in ST, too. They're not new.)

Just bought tomba 2 because nostalgia forced my hand. Mfw game is Japanese version. I feel so ripped off right now. All I got out of this purchase is a damn I thought these were good graphics back in the day and lol sub 30 fps.

I was really excited to relive this game but I really don't feel like getting a guide to play jpn version.

SSF2 Turbo, or Super Turbo.
Ahh, I see.

Call support. Ask for a refund.

Can somebody tell me about the "to be continued" sections in VLR? Do I need to complete other paths before it fully unlocks or something?

Glad to see that the Japanese PSN for PS4 is up and available, but sad that Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin is the only item that can't be selected at this time.

That sounds like such a hassle. I will try to make time for it after class though. Why would they even bother releasing this on the US store.
It takes literally less than 15 minutes. They ask you the details of your account, what game, why you don't want it, and they say "Okay, you'll get your refund in about 2 weeks". Well, if it's your first time calling that it.

Framerate drops errywhere in payday 2

Yea.... Framerate wise the game is a mess. It wouldn't be TOO bad if it weren't for the fact that the look speed accelerates and decelerates in conjunction with the framerate.

Still hasn't stopped me from playing around 15 hours since Thursday.
