I have noticed that there are a lot of people who seem to be pretty serious about writing or just like to blog. I have just started a blog and am having a blast with it so far. I kind of wanted to see what other people were doing with their blogs. While most time GAF frowns upon spamming the forum with Blogs and websites. Here is a chance to pimp your or your favorite blog to read. So let me see what is out there!

This thread is going places. But I can't tell you why, exactly. I can just fell it, ya' know? It's as if my life had been building up to this one moment.
 
i'm in the process of converting my humor web site into a content-blog thing.

i'm planning on migrating all (most) the existing content over, and then as time goes on, make more normal blog-ish sort of writing posts as i put up all the content i currently have.


i'm still designing it, and trying to figure out how to make things work the way i want them to.


if anyone knows stuff about wordpress/php i'd appreciate some tips on how to put some extra things into the existing page :D



but yeah, 70% is stuff i made in some fashion, the other 30 (probably will grow as i put more stuff up) is stuff i find from other sources.

It's all about the 'tude, especially in a case like this where you don't post your own blog to get things rolling. If you're confident in your thread the posters will come to you.

I'm currently sort of running 3, all pretty half-assed. Punk rock goes here, other music goes here, and stupid links go here. None of these are updated enough at all, but that's what having two kids does for your productivity levels.

thanks, its still very much wip though.

with my old site, i had an emphasis on having people submit stuff (i still get emails everyday), but it just became so daunting to do that without some sort of automated system. i tried lots of different content management systems, but Wordpress does it for me. its very flexible and easy to use

I was JUST gonna make this post...when I got some more content up. But, anyways, I started it like two days ago and I got three posts ready (I'd have more on a regular day, but nothing happens on Labor Day). My blog is gonna be filled with a bunch of stuff I enjoy that I think others should check out as well, with the occasional livejournal stuff meant only for people who know me IRL (I've got one post like that now). I think every post is gonna have one mp3 to listen to as you read, so come back often if you want to some good music. I'll add your guy's blogs too, not because I expect you to add mine, but just out of the kindness of my heart. Support your fellow blogger!:D

It's mostly about film, but when I feel like it, also television, music and books. Maybe games too, now that I bought a Wii and ended a 3+ year sabbatical. Basically, I write about consuming media in various forms. Something like that. Updates tend to come in spurts depending on my work schedule, which can be erratic and time-consuming to the max since I work in film/television. I don't write about that stuff though, because it'd probably only harm my career and because it's occasionally contractually forbidden.

That is a good one! I like it! man see how long I can keep up before burn out! But I am really liking it. I am making another one with my buddy. We have been making a comic and are about to start looking for publishers. Once we it up I will post it here, so anyone into comics please take a peek at it!

I had http://fireblend.wordpress.com but stopped updating it since around February.. got a lot of traffic when I was into it tho. Time just beat me and I had to leave it. If I ever start a blog again I doubt it will be aimed at an audience wider than my family and friends :p

Kind of tempted not to post because of the amount of hate I received for daring to criticize Entourage, and because updates have been sporadic due to heading back to college over the past week, but here goes.

Initially started as a blog about everything, but has developed into primarily a television blog with the occasional other pop culture related story thrown in. 130k hits since January, some success in reaching out to the Jericho community in the post-Renewal period, but still plenty of learning to go.

I've also been running my own personal blog, where I've been doing a series of articles on Welcome Week here at my university for incoming students. People have actually been coming up to me to thank me for them, so it's been kind of cool.

You didn't get hate for criticizing Entourage. It was for pimping your blog posts every week in the Entourage thread rather than just writing your thoughts out.

:lol Well of course it's an exaggeration, it only lasted about 3 months but I think I got pretty satisfying results. Even got an interview to get mentioned on 4cr, if that means anything :lol :lol

Touche. Although I would argue that there was two distinct lines of hate in that instance (One for the misguided blog pimpage, one for the opinion within), there is no question that the one you refer to was entirely justified and it is not something I've done since.

I'll agree with you there. I for one think your criticisms of Entourage were fine, but preferred that you just posted your thoughts, rather than linking to your blog each week. But you're right, you haven't done so since, and I haven't had a problem with your posts.

And for the record, I think your blog is fine too.

I haven't updated it in awhile, mostly because of Bioshock. Just a general blog with drawings, various musings, etc. I should get back on the wagon and post something, maybe Bioshock related.
