XSX System Architecture Presentation August 17th?

https://www.hotchips.org/program/

Just came across this lurking Beyond3D forums (lel). Never heard of Hot Chips; don't know if it's an ongoing thing or new, but they have a shitload of technical discussions and presentations coming in August. I bolded (and enlarged...and underlined) the part of interest for console gaming.

Nvidia, Intel and Microsoft will be presenting on the 17th. Actually I would've expected AMD there in general so maybe it's a bit peculiar (at least interesting) MS is essentially acting as some sort of pseudo-representative (officially or not) in AMD's stead for this?

(*Edit: Nope, AMD is definitely there. Just for other segments, apparently.)

Anyway it should hopefully provide some further system architecture info. Anyone know if this stuff is being streamed? It's not like they can go there in person, right? Maybe they'll just do private video conferences?

Hotchips is a big deal, been going on forever. Should be some neat stuff on display from many parties. The Intel Xe stuff is the biggest draw IMO

Ah, cool. Hotchips is news to me, probably because I didn't start venturing outside of following gaming events until a few years ago.

I'm pretty interested in Xe as well, seems to have a lot of hype behind it.

Hype
I can't wait to see the future

Wonder how/if this relates to the rumor that XsX will release a couple months before PS5. Games event in July, full tech breakdown in August, release the console in September/October?

Welcome back mang, we missed your sometimes-zany antics and vibez :goog_cool:

Very possible. I'm hearing some people say the XSX releases first and then Lockhart/Series S in November, so a two-month stagger. Don't know how true that is; at the moment I'm not even considering Lockhart as something that'll actually release, at least not this year.

Regardless it seems they're on-track with whatever their plans were so COVID-19 wouldn't have impacted too much anything they had coming this year, same for Sony. It's the 2021 stuff that could end up hit somewhat hard.
